sent an email to his fan club about 2 years ago about any tours or appearances and he answered it personally which was awesome. His music has always been underrated. Would love to see him play.
I always loved this songs. I became a Christian about six months before this song came out-I always identified this song with the changes God brought to my life-that I was even going through when this song was out....I even used to sneak it on the air
on a christian radio station I used to be a DJ on! It always made sense to me, HOW ABOUT YOU! anyone similar
@MrHitwave1 Well I see he is considered a "Christian singer/songwriter" which is interesting because in the '70s I just considered him a pop star. But yes, his lyrics are inspirational--so positive, you look for the good in tomorrow. Thanks for spinning 'em!
A great lost classic from what was most certainly golden age of soft rock. Used to catch this one driving home from college on Fri afternoons in "77"
This is an amazing song. I can listen to it over and over again and never get tired of it. It's number one on the billboard chart in my heart and will be there till all records are broken.
Beautiful music, gentle voice. I love the arrangement and the message. Thanks for posting! I don't suppose you have Deeper and Deeper, do you, on same vinyl??
This song was actually a cover of Parker Magee's tune. He wrote alot of late 70's favorites including England Dan and & John Ford Coley tunes. That being said I saw Gene and Kim Carnes in Kansas City in '78 promoting the Save the dancer album. Always been a favorite.
@Ice79cold Thanks. I ordered The Best Of Gene Cotton through his website. The CD arrived very fast. It is loaded with great songs. Renaissance Records out of AZ was supposed to reissue Gene's Save The Dancer album this year but according to their website they are going to all digital releases only, which totally sucks. WE WANT CDs! I hope another reissue label will pick up Gene's albums and release them on CD.
Great song by Gene. Do you have or could you post " Before My Heart Finds Out ? " It's my favorite song of his. But in the mean time thanks for this great tune & the memories. Mark
Very nice tune from a few decades back. Extremely refreshing compared to whats out there now.

As good as any singer of his day. Great communication to the listener, and a very pleasant vocal quality.

As a radio DJ, this song is one of my all time favorite top of the hour out of the Legal ID songs! It's a good feeling kinda song!

It's still good to have Gene Cotton's Rain On Album from ABC Records in pristine condition. You Got Me Runnin' is one of the 1970's Best.

Thanks for uploading. I first heard this in
a Denver bar in 1977 and instantly loved it.
Bought his LP at the time just for the one song.
Everytime I hear it, it's like the first time.
