Everyone speeds!!!! ( 55 mph zone)

You should be going 55 in the left lane, since it states that vehicles going the speed limit should be going in the left lane and vehicles going below the speed limit should be going in the right lane. At least that's what I think. Correct me if I am wrong.

@DetectiveMiau totally wrong!!! you have to use the right lane at all times regardless of speed, and only use the left lane to overtake. At least that is how it works in Europe

I notice that most of the vehicles that passed were a pickup/SUV/minivan. These people think they're King Shit on the road - any road. They go how they want and think they own every inch of the road whether they have the right of way or not, whether someone else is there or not. It's these self-important "invincible" dimwits that cause most accidents.

@jiggles26 The speed limits in NY are so low... you're lucky to find a 65 zone downstate, and if the road isn't of good enough quality to be 65, it's 55-- we don't use the 60 mph zone for some reason.

and you are talking about a 4 lane highway almost straight...65mph is Europe´s speed limit on 1 line 2 ways roads...and we get killed less....again 55 on that road is just plain slow and even dangerous, you get bored an sleepy....

Yeah well I usually go at least five over the limit..it's a 65 I go 70...and I still get tailed all the time. I watch idiots go flying past, dangerously swerving at over 70 just to pass people like me who are SO SLOW. My gawd, how dare I only go 70 in a 65 zone.

This is why accidents are so common, people.
