  • this isnt a clean and press, in a clean and press your not allowed bend the knee's for the press

  • who is the old fella?

  • сука через штангу не переступай!

  • no smoking in the club eh? sorry mark, u cant traIn there anymore, cos you are on fucking fire mate!

  • Great lift man, also that's some great coaching. I'd feel very confident learning from this vet :)

  • Hey I have seen this older guy on a video reporting about HGH therapy.

  • haha pretty funny how this old man probably knows more about training than 90% of PT's you find in gyms

  • Man I cant even tell if that guy is speaking english

  • your elbows should point straight forward when you perform the clean..

  • @marianodeolivos yes, but marc is not going to compete in weightlifting, but in strongman. and the main thing he benefits from this lift is explosiveness, no matter how the weight is moved.

  • boss, should i lift the car as well?! :P

  • what training session should i do these? shoulders? or back or ?

  • @ToddwynTheGreat it depends

  • master yoda

  • I want a coach like this. He got dat old man wisdom.

  • WHY DO PEOPLE COACH WRONG TECHNIQUE

  • @jam35dm Care to expand?

  • @smc1253 Let's just say I'm glad the video isn't called clean and jerk! In brief: When you clean the bar it's supposed to rest on your clavicle, elbows parallel to the floor. Whole lots of other details but that's the jist of it. Press part of this is meh sloppy. Not hating on the dude just saying to learn good technique and he'll fly up with the numbers he presses

  • BIG DUDE!

  • Technique? Who cares! In strongman you use whatever your strongest with to achieve the specific goal/task! Mark more or less "reverse curls then presses the weight up" - Incredible. He's more fast twitch fibres in his forearms than I have in my whole body haha, magnificent!

  • lol at fucking mark felix,

    jokes old geezer.

  • He would be disqualified if he did this movement in competition lol this is not a clean and press, it's a clean and push press.Rounded back at the start of the movement, bar not resting on front delts, arms not even locked out. Please rename this: Pathetic, bad form, and a cop out cheating movement press

  • @Driven763 You should probably read up on what type of competition he competes in before you say he'd be disqualified. That way you won't look like a moron making such accusations.

Then the video should be renamed: "Jealous skinnyfags, cry all you want."

  • @Driven763 Dude what is your name? How did you do in WSM this year ? - you must be pretty awesome

  • @Driven763 it is not olympic it is strongman style...gimme a break XD

  • Good luck getting out the emergency exit... first you'd have to get past Felix, then you'd still have all that shit in the way!

    Great lift though... attabe coach!

  • That is so much weight. I would rip my lower back muscles out of my pelvis trying to pull that off.

  • The coach is an ex Olympic weightlifter!

  • that dude is a strong ass man.

  • LOVE THE ENTHUASIASM! the older gent is loving the coaching and the training, and the big dude is a hulk, a huge back on him, very strong.

  • I love how Mark cannot do a proper clean because his biceps physically do not allow him to touch his shoulders. Instead he just holds it up in the air.

  • proper yorkshireman! such an unlikely combination

  • push press... nicely done!!

  • Have ample respect for Mark Felix. His deadlift power is unbelievable. He thrashes his opponents when they do the 'car deadlift' event in the WSM

  • the coaches technique is shit

  • @lifterdude4392 Why?

  • Love watching this old guy who knows what he is talking about tell that big dude how to do it. He obviously knows his stuff.

  • Is this the old guy from Rocky?

  • I love how the emergency exit has shit infront of it lol

  • Good coach....

  • It wouldve been crazy if the coach went for it and got it....BTW I need a coach like that

  • terrible form never do this

  • @slowfuse if you watch 'till the end the coach tells him to rack it and not hold it up

  • the coach is so funny..ahahah

  • Rocky and Mick =)

  • One of the strongest men in the world train in what appears to be someones shed? lol

  • @MrTazz1000 you'de be surprised whre the top bodybuilders powerlifters and strongmen train. Most of the same equipment as a lifetime but that gym just has "balls to the wall training" written all over it. Like good atmosphere in a restaurant

  • @samauripizzacats101 pardon MrTazz1000, he is part of the silly crowd who believes a clean white gym high-tech 500+ $/ year is better than anything else. That must be eh ? I mean they charge higher so you get more results right ? :) (sarcasm)

  • @finaltorment Well most gyms today really suck. Good if I see one squat rack in todays gym. And if people do free weigths they do bench press!?!? When they could do overhead press.

  • At first I thought the old dude was going to do that I was like "holy crap, no way." Now THAT would have been cool

  • This Coach is a real life Mick (from rocky)

  • old guy coach ftw?

  • @dk12553 a coach with expierence is old

  • @bigroncole666 TRUE

First old coach I've seen well that age of a coach

  • Have you considered working on flexibility to achieve a true rack position? It could be that you are just too muscular for it to be possible. I don't doubt that you've probably considered it already, but I'm just throwing it out there, cause the power transfer from your legs in the push press would be way more complete, and you wouldn't have to tire your upper body by physically holding the bar off your shoulders and using THEM to transfer the power. Impressive, inspiring strength btw!

  • Rofl. I thought the old guy was Mark Felix...

  • just cuz he's old that doesnt mean he knows the right technique.

  • Talk about experience. The coach has my respect

  • great instructor, respect!

  • That coach is awesome! I bet he'd smack the crap out of his trainee if he hadn't pressed it a second time!! LOL!!

  • Firstly you need to Start training deadlifts, upright rows, shrugs and bent over rows to really build your lower back, core, hips and upper back before you can even approach this exercise then when you feel confident start with the bar and so on.

  • @mikeypginger15

That is absolutely untrue. Breaking down an olympic lift into bodypart movements is total nonsense. Not a single world-class olympic lifter trains or is trained that way. In face, doing all those things, especially the upright row or a deadlift performed in manner that isn't complementary to the execution of the lift you are doing, will result in MORE difficulty when learning the olympic lifts, since you have already installed different movements patterns.

  • terrible form lol but amazing strength and power. this guy is fuken crazy

  • i tthought the old guy was gonna do it hahaha

  • @5till13lazin me too

  • guys a fucking monster

  • Love this coach. He knows what he talkin about an at the same time if you were walkin down the street you would think this guy doesn't even know what a curl is

  • @hewj3602 i may be wrong but the young fella ( the coach ) has clean and jerk 175kg

  • i wouldn't be surprised. The man knows how to do it. but at first look or untrained eye wouldnt know so

  • @hewj3602 Whats that coach name?

  • Clean was very powerful.

  • how much is that?

  • I thought the old fella was gonna go for it!!

  • LOL!!!

  • @ACdeanSEE rofl!!!!!! DUDE YOU JUST KILLED ME

  • @ACdeanSEE if he did i'd shit my pants... lmao

  • @ACdeanSEE same mate

  • @ACdeanSEE Man that would be nice to see.

  • @ACdeanSEE that would be the most badass thing ever

  • @ACdeanSEE i hoped so ;)

  • cant drop weights in my gym... shame... i do em but with less weight that i can control on the way down

  • Be a man, do them on the street. Fuck cars. ;)

  • i drop them all the time.

  • he seems like a wonderful teacher

  • Omg.

  • your a good lifter Mark

  • yeah i have to agree with bozez1, the clean is probably the hardest lift to do as far as technique. it takes forever to get good technique and be comfortable with it

  • Shows how strong he is because hese not even resting it on his chest!

  • I have a feeling thats a mobility restriction, I cannot rest it either on my chest due to elbow and wrist tightness, you can see at the top of the lift, mark can't lock his elbows in,

These are just assumptions though, I'm a really big fan of his training

  • nah, he should be using the rack posistion, I don't know why his coach says nice for this. He doesen't even use his hips for the clean either.

  • stop bein such a queer

  • i want to do these but im scared because i workout alone in the house...what if it comes down on me lol

  • It's good to be a little scared about that. Learning how to do these properly takes time. Work in increments and don't get to big for your britches and you will be fine. First thing you need to learn is how to drop the weights and get away safely.

  • wow he just muscled that shit up!

  • Do not want to sound like a noob, but I am interested in incorporating this into my training regime however can people just explain to me what's the core fundamental of this exercise, what body part does it hit the most? Thanks :-)

  • The clean works mostly pulling muscles (back, biceps, posterior chain). The press works pushing muscles (every portion of the deltoids, trapezius, pecs, and triceps).

the clean and press basically works everything. train safe.

  • The power is more of an explosive lift. You see it used a lot for footballs, it works you core, arms, legs, and hell prolly ur back and shoulders. The press is pretty much it back arms and shoulders.

  • The clean TEARS my upper back up.

  • well done mark

  • Bad technique, but he is not weightlifter, so... respect...

  • this guy is clearly just naturally strong cuz he had such bad technique, he just brute forced that shit lol, its kinda scary to think how much he could do if he had a little form, cuz i'm kinda like this guy (no form) and i can only clean about 315, but i cant press it

  • I started watching a lot of hang clean videos and everyone I see shows the person catching the bar above a parallel squat. My coach at school this semester stopped counting the hang cleans if i don't catch at or below parallel on test days. Is he just being retarded?

  • No he isn't. You can do more weight if you catch it below parallel. The only way you should be hang power cleaning more than you can hang clean is if your legs are proportionally weak to the rest of your body.

  • I don't know, I think Koklyaev is stronger than Mark. Not that Mark isn't a #@$%ing monster, because he absolutely is.

  • He actually held the bar at his shoulders in 'mid air' on each rep - no need to hold it at rest on his shoulders like us mortals - pure unadulterated power.

  • +aint that way over 400lbs that he is handeling with ease!!

  • have to agree about that coach. no-nonsence and a fab jumper. what more could you want!!!

  • Hes just so awesome that coach.

  • Is he a former olympic lifter?

  • Mark, Bennedict, Syders and Zydrunas are the best deadlifters in all of the World Strongman!! no doubt if Mark had started training same time as those guys he would be sitting on countless world titles!!

best thing about it, all natural baby!!

Love Mariusz, Andy Bolton and ronnie coleman BUT! they're all a bit sus with their supplements!! JOKES!

just enjoy watching naturally strong human beings doing their thing rather than rely on banned substances!

  • Don't forget about Kevin Nee... he is a bamf at deadlifting

  • fgelix is such a freak look at him he is 40 years old if he started when he was young and in his twenties instead of at the age of 38 he might have some wsm titles to his belt

  • Is it a joke or he really needs a tutor after all those years?

  • of course.

    a worldchampion need a trainer!

  • dude i don't understand how someone can get so big and strong without doing the basic compound movements like this since they started training.

  • y all the neg comments? this is a legit question. thats just how freakin gifted felix is...

  • or should i say neg points...

  • that old guys legit

  • hell yeah he is

  • So terrible he held it locked out talking like it was a child's weight, shut up you stupid fuck.

  • blacklight8701, don't worry about him. just another jealous loser.

  • thats the thing, it was almost a muscle clean. there is no doubt he is ridiculously strong, especially if he could muscle clean that. but if he did it more explosively, he could do sooo much more.

  • lets not forget this dude competed in world strongest man...his realyyy new to this... oh yea he can deadlift 400kg 880lbs...without too much proper deadlift training, erm...oh yea... marius pudzianowski said that this guys got the strongest back compared to how new he is at it. not bad for a newbie hey? lol. take care

  • that old guy no's what he doing dnt he real ledge

  • is yh saying mariusz is not strong well reli just look at him

  • mark "the beast" felix. tear it up at WS 08 brah u got the strength all u need is the heart! Go for gold!!

  • looks about 150

  • Kg of course

  • Mark is so amazingly strong but I have noticed that his timing is out when he presses, Marius is not stronger in some aspects but he knows how to jerk well.

I hope Felix can get second or even 3rd in the WS in 2008 it would be even better if he won.

  • Seems like a nice guy does Mark.Just goes to show your never to big and strong to listen..Good stuff..

  • Great video.Thats exactly what he needs to train. How much is on the bar?
