@studioonwheels1 For someone looking to retain functionality of their rear seats and still have good, deep bass at the lower end of the range (say, 26 htz), this is something special. Although, for $700 I would build it myself and pick my own woofer.
I have the JBL system in my '11 Tacoma, but getting some serious rattling though certain bass and mid tones in the door plastics. Did you have any issues with this? I've had Toyota tape stuff down inside the door but it didn't help. Any ideas?
im not very educated on speakers, but i would like to get this for my Tacoma and i love bad for rap/rock but i also listen to country....would it sound bad with all the bass that this package has?
sick set up! my dad had a 2010 trd offroad manual and my mom has a 2011 trd offroad fourdoor automatic. gunna convince her to install somethin like this in hers (cence dads already has a sub and he dont like loud music like mom and me) yall should check out my shit. i got two 10s and they fuckin pound! full component speakers and everythin. did all the install myself. wish it was a little cleaner tho (futur project is cleaning it up)
keep makin toyota just one more step better than all others!
@jeffens1991 The HPF is set at 80Hz, the speakers are getting 125 watts RMS, of course they are going to move. They are ZERO distortion. There is also a passive xover. Your mid range speakers should be providing "mid bass" from 80HZ up, to say they should not get any bass is incorrect. To say they should not get any subsonic bass would be correct.
@tacotunes allright cool, i cant really tell what frequency they are just by the vid but based on your explanation it seems you have everything right, good system man
hey i have a 2002 toyota camy and i am going to install some 6.5 image dynamics components. they are the (CXS62 V.2 - Image Dynamics 6.5" 2 ohm Component System) and have a diameter of 5.625 inches and a depth of 3 inches. i want to order some front door mounts from your website if you still do that. i guess i should get the 5.6 in cut out instead of going up to 5.7 inches? wouldnt 5.7 be too big even though the 5.6 is a lil small? ok guys thanks for the help and love your videos. ikno wrong vid
I have a taco 04 and I have conceived almost every poss upgrade instead of concentrating on work for 40 to 60 hrs a week life-guarding. You have done instead of imagining, Your truck is a dream truck in my opinion and don't forget it when haters comment. We may have our trucks for a very long time.
@walkingstoning Dude, it is soooooooooo easy to build a system that takes up the entire back seat of a truck or car. I have yet to see another stealth system (can't see any subs or speakers) that matches this setup. Any bonedhead can build a square box with 2 - 3 cu ft. The real trick is building a system that does not take away from the vehicles appearance.
@tacotunes i agree. but cut out underneath the back seat. put in an artificial floor that dropped 6 inches and put in a fifteen with some decent air space.
@walkingstoning Well most of our customers are not going to cut sheet metal and make large holes in their ride to install a box. And when I look at your youtube page, you have a box taking up the entire back seat of the truck? Can you post a vid of your box?
damn thats super clean! i have the same set up, but i have two tens behind the back seat, and my amp is below the left side back seat, in the storage compartment. love tacos!
@tacomaowner26 lol hahaha. oh man, you are one entertaining young fellow. yes your comments have been nicely pruned and manicured, very good work. Those who protect you.. I think I just puked in my mouth a little bit...son. confidence and discipline, wow big words guy. Must be all that government training you've undergone. This coming from the "cornered" pavementqueenowner26 who immediately lashed out when called on all the vids of the same thing ( you walking in circles around your Taco ? )
@tacomaowner26 no really i do, I think it might increase your manhood to have celine dion blaring while you get your boyfriend to film you driving in your element ( pavement ).! I could fuck with you all day , your a fun guy to fuck with :) You didn't really think you could post 20 vids of you masterbating over your poor Taco without people laughing at you ? did you? anyway my cowardly little buddy, keep sending me messages then blocking me, it's more fun when you prove to me your a puss!
@tacomaowner26 Ah yes, the sensitive Mr.pavementqueenowner26. So.. where to start..? 1. I own a 2000 Tacoma ( that leaves the pavement, unlike your city slicker mobile ) 2. I own my own company. ( zing! ) 3. you want people to believe you worked for all that gay shit on your poor truck!? HA! no one that works for a living would bolt on garbage and decals on their truck. Only rich spoiled bitches like you do stupid shit like that. 4. I think you should really give Celine Dion another try.
man I really with that tacotunes ported box with the sub but im scared to buy it because i dont want to be dissapointed... I want a system that you can hear rattling from around the block the ones that make peoples alarms start going off... its either the tacotunes or 2 12" kicker cvt im stuck between the two
what kind of lift is it u shuld post pictures of the truck cuz i dont know what lift size i shuld get in my tacoma...if u culd help me out by doing that plz haha sik truck by the way
the truck is really nice,my dad wants me to get one of these he says he has a buddy that had one and it went to 100,000 miles and still runs great, its a shame u installed them speackers.u have that truck for show in shows?
@legoparadise21 ahhh comments like these only prove how badass this truck really is . . jealousy rearing its ugly head! Hater: Hater One who either verbally and/or physically inhibits another individual's game or mode of operation primarily due to jealousy, envy, animosity, bitterness, resentment, and contempt. A hater will exibit either one or all of the aformentioned traits. URBANDICTIONARY
@tacotunes Well .. I know for sure this will be louder and have more extension than 12s in small sealed boxes. The big challenge is lack of air space AND box design. We have SQUEEZED the most airspace we can get and still make the back seats useable. The sub will hit very loud and low, but the same sub in a larger box with more airspace would produce even more bass. We have found a great middle ground between SQ & SPL in a tight area. WE have had ZERO negative feedback on the ported box!
i found 2 different sub boxes that fit in the back seat of the tacoma. Im looking at getting some subs but i was wondering how i can still keep the back seats in with the backrest or do you have to keep the backrest out
what shops do you guys work with in maryland because i like the subwoofer and the port tuned box. also could you make another video with the 12" subwoofer (rap)
Awesome system man. it sounds great. i also have a tacoma that i just put a full system in. go check it out on my page. Also i am looking at getting a lift and some tires on my truck. its a grey 2008 tacoma with the sports package. Any advice from anyone?
i have videos on my channel. but my camera REALLY SUCKS. so everything just sounds AWFUL. but if you want you can take a look.
its all in my 91 jetta my dad gave to me as my winter car. the jetta is my sound car. my dad also rebuilt a 320i 1982 bmw that he gave to me as my summer car before he died. but that one i am just putting a 12" pioneer shallow mount. keep in mind i am 19. without a dad. and my mom has no money. i put the $ together on what i wanted that was in my range.
i dont want to leave too many comments but here is what i have 2 power acoustik ov2-2200 gothic amps (bridged at 880 watts each) 4 ohm stable 2 12 inch mofos (power acoustik) slot ported box 4 cubic feet 200 amp battery isolator 90 amp alternator Yellow top D34 battery in trunk Huge battery up front 1/0 gauge wiring 4/0 gauge from battery to alternator 2 grounds. 1 to engine block. 1 to trunk. Dynamated trunk 2 PA tweeter horns 4 alpine midrange (two 4's, two 6's) Pioneer DEH 2900 head unit
my brother in law told me to set my HPF to 125. is that too high? i dont think i really hear highs anyways. b/c i have to 12's. so he told me to let them do all the bass and let my midranges pretty much just do highs.
am i missing out on anything? i always turn my deck up to 75% of its max volume. so he told me to turn the HPF so that i dont ruin them. the front mids are 4 inches and the rears are 6.5 inches
there are lots of factors, so the more info you can provide the better. However, if you set your mids to 125hz you are going to miss the frequency between your subs 80hz x over and your midbass from 80 - 125hz. With 4" mids you may not be hearing much of that anyway.
On the six inch you should be getting pretty good response at 80hz - 125Hz. Why did you go so small on the front speakers? Post up all your specs amps, speakers power etc . . I can help you out. Also, how did you set your gain? by ear? scope? DMM?
i messed with the hz for the mids and i didnt notice a difference.
4 inch is the max i could get to fit in the front. they all run of the head unit. and i have two amps. one for each sub. gain all the way up. bass boosters all the way up. i have 2 12 inch mofos and at 900 watts i am still barely doing anything to them. but i dont want to go any louder. i am very pleased and content with how it all sounds. i just thought maybe i was missing out. i usually listen to metal (whitechapel) or rap
@tacotunes You should get a video of a stock soundsystem to compare it too, Its really hard to tell how good the system is just over speakers, Use the same camera though.
for a while i had my gain set correctly at 2.2 volts to match my head unit. but then i read online that you can mess with the gain as long as your subs dont skip. which mine never did. so i just set the gain to max.
i have a 3 year warranty on both amps.
and i dont play them that often. my job is a mile away and i dont drive much. so i only play my system for maybe an hour or so in a week. summer i play it more. b/c then i drive and do more
its called that too.rear fill, rear stage, all same ive built high end sound quality and spl systems for 25 + years now, and yes tweters in rear stage is a good thing
Its said that components in the rear isnt a good practice. I dont run rear tweets in my Frontier. Just 6" K2's band pass passive from 100Hz-1.5kHz. I got tweet pods in the dash though.
Yo as a young buck in the car audio game, I must say dats one of CLEANEST and CLEAREST system's I have ever heard!!! Great front stage that travels really well =)
do the back seats fold down or do you have to completely remove them?

@tacotunes You should get a video of a stock soundsystem to compare it too, Its really hard to tell how good the system is just over speakers, Use the same camera though.

for a while i had my gain set correctly at 2.2 volts to match my head unit. but then i read online that you can mess with the gain as long as your subs dont skip. which mine never did. so i just set the gain to max.
i have a 3 year warranty on both amps.
and i dont play them that often. my job is a mile away and i dont drive much. so i only play my system for maybe an hour or so in a week. summer i play it more. b/c then i drive and do more

Taco- Mids look like their flexin pretty hard, is that just ID's, or do you run all brands like that ?

The HPF is set at 80hz and we are hitting the speakers with 125 watts RMS so yea they are gonna flex.

I thought tweeters in the rear were a no-no?

I've heard of rear fill.
WTFGUY956 2 years ago

@WTFGUY956
Its said that components in the rear isnt a good practice. I dont run rear tweets in my Frontier. Just 6" K2's band pass passive from 100Hz-1.5kHz. I got tweet pods in the dash though.

Very nice! I have your TacoTunes speaker adapters but I added a layer of Dynamat on it before installing my speaker. Helps improve midbass response.
w211ryda 2 years ago
The matting did not show up in time. We will be installing VERY soon.
Thx!
