His sweeps are pretty robotic compared to older players. Dave is always saying something different, you haven't listened.

Again look at the career or total discography of Marty Friedman, Cacophany Go Off, Marty Friedman Dragon Kiss, Megadeth Rust In Peace, Megadeth Youthenasia, Marty Friedman True Obsessions...I don't need to go on, if you listen to that, his discography through the 80's through about '96, you can hear, what he did for cash with Megadeth, and something totally different solo, much more versatile.
@SitotiKurton arguably the best guitarist they've every had. Just because he can wow you with 8 finger tapping doesn't mean he's the greatest guitarist Megadeth ever had/greatest guitarist around. And wow he plays Mozart, I'm still not as amazed as others are. The tapping is cool, but you can't mix up 8 finger tapping, it always sounds pretty much the same. Everything he does sounds pretty much like plain old metal, complex but just metal. Look at the career of Marty Friedman, & rethink.

Also, once you've mastered alternate picking and string skipping and you're about as good as Paul Gilbert, which they both are, you can't really get better at string skipping and alternate picking. They're tied there. Also, I don't think Chris has the pinky of Buckethead. I'd like to see him try to do the sweep/taps that Buckethead does.

@SitotiKurton I didn't say you said anything by the way, I'm saying if Dave Mustaine would have acted as band leader and told Marty Friedman to not make something slow, then Marty wouldn't have. But apparently Dave Mustaine is a pentatonic playing crack smoking pussy who left that to Marty and now in the 2000's wants to blame things on a guy who couldn't care less about him. See how many interviews you find of Marty talking shit about Dave, you won't find any cause Marty is an adult.

@SitotiKurton did you ever watch the Megadeth behind the music? Dave says he wanted mainstream, basically. Marty is a diverse player who plays all genres and you don't know that because you only listen to shitty music, that's apparent, you listen to new Megadeth. 8 Finger tapping is cool, but it sounds like an exercise every time there's no mixing it up it's just showy. His sweeps are pretty robotic compared to older players. Dave is always saying something different, you haven't listened.

@SitotiKurton Dave Mustaine is and has always been band leader, and if he would have told Marty, "Nah Tornado of Souls sounds like shit, you're going to have to make something that sounds more like Rattle Head" Marty would have done that or left the band, but obviously that was what Dave wanted and liked.
But you can't blame Marty, you have to blame the band leader, if he's either a poser and a wanted to be on the radio, or was weak minded an influenced by someone who's never liked thrash.

@SitotiKurton Personally I don't listen to metal anymore, like Marty Friedman, but I don't listen to Japanese pop, I listen to industrial. But Megadeth going platinum because Dave was influenced by Marty Friedman is not true, Megadeth sucks because Dave Mustaine brought in a diverse player, which you can't argue Marty Friedman was a neo classical shredder in his early career not a thrash Megadeth style guitarist.

Respond to this video... Broderick lacks real versatility compared to Marty Friedman. Again look at the career or total discography of Marty Friedman, Cacophany Go Off, Marty Friedman Dragon Kiss, Megadeth Rust In Peace, Megadeth Youthenasia, Marty Friedman True Obsessions...I don't need to go on, if you listen to that, his discography through the 80's through about '96, you can hear, what he did for cash with Megadeth, and something totally different solo, much more versatile.

@SitotiKurton arguably the best guitarist they've every had. Just because he can wow you with 8 finger tapping doesn't mean he's the greatest guitarist Megadeth ever had/greatest guitarist around. And wow he plays Mozart, I'm still not as amazed as others are. The tapping is cool, but you can't mix up 8 finger tapping, it always sounds pretty much the same. Everything he does sounds pretty much like plain old metal, complex but just metal. Look at the career of Marty Friedman, & rethink.

I rerad about a Chris Broderick, Jeff Loomis, battle.
I think they are both gret guitarrist, you shall remember you are comparing Technical Thrash Metal to Progressive Metal, i also read about Michael Romero and Muhammed Suicmez, so it's Progressive Power Metal to Technical Death Metal. i think thoose guitarist are all awesome, awesome technique, and awesome music, i shall say amazing music. for me there's no winner, no best one. they are all guitar god. don't forget Luca Turilli also.

@skediddlydaddle Yea i dont think that Chris i that amazing with his own stuff cuase its just a bunch of hard scales mixed with sweeping and tapping. Gilberts own stuff is better than Chris'. My point is though that nobody can play as many styles as he can. And playing them SO fucking good!

I dont think that theres anybody that can play guitar better than Chris, tehnically wise. He rapes anybody, this tapping solo proves it. Paul Gilbert and Buckethead doesnt hold a candle to Chris. Not to mention that he plays classical guitar.

@asharp12 Well, not really. I just appreciate skill. Chris Broderick is good, just nothing special in my eyes. He hasn't really contributed to music in any way. He's just mastered techniques that already exists, he hasn't done anything new. His music is not original and it's boring to listen to.
Which is why I like Buckethead and not Chris Broderick.

@guitarshredder2364 I have to agree with you, although Buckethead is my favorite guitarist and biggest inspiration, I do have to say Chris Broderick is better to not be biased. I just like Buckethead's ability to play heavy metal stuff to soft and easy stuff.

@guitarshredder2364 So what if he sweeps more? Sweeping is a fairly easy thing. Also, once you've mastered alternate picking and string skipping and you're about as good as Paul Gilbert, which they both are, you can't really get better at string skipping and alternate picking. They're tied there. Also, I don't think Chris has the pinky of Buckethead. I'd like to see him try to do the sweep/taps that Buckethead does.
Not to mention, Buckethead is way cooler.
