Should try the hill down from near the Air Balloon pub in Cheltenham. A435 heading down to the A40 on the East side of Cheltenham, Over a mile to the bottom and very steep. Last winter we were queing at the top to wait for the car in front to get to the bottom before starting each decent at slower than walking pace. Lots of trees and a step drop on the right. That was scary !!!!!
@Jolinator clearly... lol that can't be possible. if that were true, the lights would engage when the brakes are applied. the rears were locked for at like .3s before the light illuminated... Side note, esp would never engage a car into a spin purposely... you really think ESP would expect a driver to turn in, wait for "ESP" to lock the rears, then correct accordingly? There's absolutely no way that what you are saying is even remotely possible.
@123aellis he was braking up to the corner, lifted off the brakes, turned in, esp engages then you see brake lights up, this is esp lighting them up combined with the guy pressing the brake pedal. i work for bosch, end story, good day sir.
@Jolinator man, please take the time and look at the video. the rears clearly lock up BEFORE the lights are on. If this isn't the handbrake, its an incredibly dangerous system. You must be one very, very ignorant employee if you really do work for Bosch...
@Jolinator but ESP is a stability assist system - locking the rears and engaging a slide is the opposite of what the system is design to do, no? please explain the logic behind purposely locking the rears as opposed to the sensible solution of ABS and applying brakes on certain corners to AVOID a slide/spin.
Normal brakes not working!!! AAAAAHHH!! Wonder what would happen if I pulled the handbrake?! Nicely does it!! Why can't someone be filming me round every icy corner?!!!
@ paulj888 Because people don't listen or take any notice of people waving their arms at the side of the road! Also, why put yourself in unnecessary danger?
I was expecting a driver without skills:D
