@PCHintsandTips Nope, the several new aero effects [ Aero Peek, Aero Snap ] is one new feature. redesigned task bar. there are several less processes that run, less ram is being used as you mentioned, less CPU power and electrical energy needed [ longer battery life for notebooks, netbooks, and tablets, a new way of handling managing processes [ something vista failed on, which caused slow performance and frequent crashes ]
There's several more things, but i have better things to do than list.
@johnathon124 i think i said all that in less words actually lol
aero effects actually started in vista
the snap feature in windows 7 is useless to most people
the same process run actually but use less ram
vista stopped having frequent crashes when they came out with service pack 2 about a year and some months ago... then windows 7 came out about 6-9 months after vista was stabalized
im guessing you were part of vista beta and gave up before it was stabilized and then tried windows 7
@PCHintsandTips actually i bought a desktop computer with windows vista installed, along with SP2 [never installed SP3, it would always fail :(
and im kind of aware that Aero might have its security vulnerabilities.. i noticed it when i got a Ad virus from doing absolutely nothing other than leaving the computer on... but Windows must have noticed it, because it offered to go into repair mode and after it restarted the virus was gone... and it was a feature of windows, not the manufacturer
@johnathon124 I have never been satisfied from Vista. If you can, install Windows 7 instead. I combined them with the Avira free antivirus and they run without problems. Also, try the RegAce System Suite. RegAce is excellent. Have also CC Cleaner. These 2, keep the system fast and reliable.
@johnathon124 speaking of aero affects, you heard if you have it enabled in windows 7 thats a security vulnerability right? but vista users can have it enabled and dont have the same security threat...
i heard that announcement from microsoft and it kinda shocked me lol
just adding this cause i figured you might want to know :)
I had a bug in my old Windows ME, when I changed my theme, then I went back, the shutdown chime was deleted. then after a couple of years, auto run was deleted so i had to install games manually (w/o the run program because I hated using those codes in the instructions). I cant go back and fix it now because the computer is retired and is upgraded to XP and I don't feel like downgrading it.
the sounds got shorter and more retarded as it progressed

windows vista is almost the same as windows 7 if got 2 pc one whit windows 7 and one whit vista
TheBadbloke 2 years ago
@TheBadbloke there actually is a difference, Windows 7 isnt as shitty as vista was. its much much MUCH better. and there's more Aero effects too
johnathon124 1 year ago
@johnathon124 i wouldnt say that
windows 7 is better than vista, but not by as much as youd think
only differences are updated drivers, a different look, and it doesnt eat up all your RAM

nelizmastr 3 years ago 2
the shutdown on 95 is the boot up on 3.11

I don't remember 98 or 2000 sounding like that, but I only ran those with later service packs.
I like NT's start up and down sounds the most.

no, see the jubjub449's bug fix beta and my NT 5.0 Shutdown video.
MarioGPlayer90 3 years ago
i viewed your video and your right. NT 5.0 Beta had a different shutdown than NT 4.0. i stand corrected.
FBHSswimmer2006 3 years ago
So, only NT 4.0 has the Shutdown as the Startup backward.
MarioGPlayer90 3 years ago
as far as i know....yea. NT 4.0s shutdown sound is the startup sound backwards.
