  • WHEN DAVID FIRST STARTED WITH BRO ALLEN, HE WAS AT THE PIANO..JERRY MC KENNY WAS THE ORGANIST WITH MANY YEARS (HE HAD PLAYED FOR MANY OF THE VOICE OF HEALING EVANGELIST) WHEN JERRY STOPPED TRAVELING, DAVID BECAME THE ORGANIST FOR QUITE A LONG STRETCH..BLESSED MULTITUDES.

THEN I WAS HONORED TO JOIN THE ALLEN TEAM, FOR ABOUT 11/2 YRS... THEN

COME BACK AT VARIOUS TIMES, TO WORK ON SPECIAL PROJECTS..WITH BRO.

ALLEN. THEIR WAS NOTHING EVER LIKE THE GREAT STYLES OF DAVID AND

  • AA Allen.net

  • can I buy these albulms?

  • @nrmdola yes you can, Rev. Allen's youngest son sells them online as cds

  • @nrmdola You can find some of the actual records on eBay, however, they can get pretty expensive.

  • GOD gave David Davis a wonderful gift. Mountain Railroad is my favorite... I saw a vision of JESUS as I prayed among the peach tree groves of miracle valley during one of the camp meetings--soI know this place is special.

  • that white man can play yes lord

  • @MrKITCHENTALK

I would find you here saying that! LOL!

  • Man O live, boy does this bring me back I was a kid, my dad loved the old time revival and the music....What ever happen to David Davis? I can't find much of him on the YT. Peace and blessings to all. Take care.

    Hen

  • Ah, of course ... Sorry, man, didn't pay attention. But before I knew anything about Hammonds and Leslies, I actually thought Leslie was the name of the organ :-) Take care!

  • look at that boy work that leslie!

  • I think you mean the Hammond organ - the Leslie is the speaker ;-)

  • no i meant leslie it has a spinning horn in it to give it that vibrato sound note the little switch he hits on his left below the white and black keys. it always fascinated me watching those horns spin when i was a kid attending those meetings. ;D

  • The legendary and great David K. Davis. One of the greatest gospel organist in the history of american music.

  • oh man you just don,t hear that type of playing anymore!!!! i love it !!! thanks for posting!!!

  • this is truly excellent talent. I love hearing this brother play he makes this thing talk and praise GOD

  • Colored Friends?lol

  • Forgot to mention, Dad also played the organ with the 'left hand slap'..I used to watch him play on many Sunday nights during testimony services.

  • Daddy was crazy about David's playing and AA Allen! Heard this music growing up as a child and it brings back great memories. Dad and David had similar styles in playing the organ. I totally agree you do not hear this style of playing anymore, and it is a treat to hear and remember Dad! Good choice of "What A Fellowship" (aka correct title "Leaning On the Everlasting Arms") to play in tribute to the integrated services and choir in that day, David. Bless you!

  • "Life's Railway to Heaven" and "Leaning on the Everlasting Arms" are the correct titles to these old songs. I'm glad we are all colored people and can all enjoy these songs.

  • That's a left handed slap campmeeting style you don't hear anymore. Fantastic talent and pure talent. There were many of us who played this way.

I still love it and hope that those who know how to play this style will begin to play again. I can play like that even now. It will be mostly in the fifty to sixty crowd. One day soon God will call us back to sing and play again and I hope we answer.

  • we grew up in south sask.listening to AA Allen on KXEL Waterlo Iowa.I always loved his wonderful playing. This stuff was way ahead of its time. Bob Jacobson

  • I was blessed to be in this camp meeting in Miracle Valley, AZ. What powerful days of Holiness truth. I'm yet a member of the Miracle Valley Assembly Church. Rest in peace Rev. Allen. Bro. David Davis is also dead and resting in God. What anointed playing.

    Rev. Michael Capps, D.D., Th.D, Ph.D
