i've called our local classic rock station a few times to play this. but they like playing the standard classic rock hits all day everyday instead. good tune
well listened to every song by Rainbow. Only liked 3 songs and all from this album which overall was very nice. Guess i don't have much of an ear for this group, but Dio definitely has a very nice voice
without musical talent like this rock an roll cant hold on much longer .. I love dios power no body else held it down like he could .. many have tried but its hard to top the king
@GodsGayLover I never thought od that until you said it but I do hear it. Gypsy is a much heavier song though. Now Im going to listen to some classic Heep.
I really think that even though they were together during such a short time, Ronnie and Ritchie was THE best songwriting duo of ALL time. No offense against Page/Plant, Richards/Jagger and all the other great ones but this is THE BEST for me :D Neither Dio nor Blackmore ever wrote something better than what they did in Rainbow, but they were close with "Deep Purple", "Fireball" and "Heaven and Hell".
LED ZEP PURPLE FLOYD RAINBOW UFO MAIDEN AC DC SCORPIONS etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc AMERICA weeps it has no answer. They gave us ROCK N ROLL and we simply made it better.
Don't have phone sex people, for it can cause hearing AIDS. i used to have this album (bought it in the Autumn of 1975) It was hearing "Man On A Silver Mountain") that inspired me to buy it. Though I also like this track. When I saw them live 1976 (when I was living out in Australia) When they performed those songs. The only thing that spoiled it was them not doing an encore. RIP RONNIE JAMES DIO.
for many decades my brother-in-laws's dad was butthurt about blackmore leaving deep purple. only now has he realized that rainbow was a marriage of talent.
I think 'dislikes' come from people who hear this for the first time and realize they have been wasting time with Hendrix and Zeppelin so in anger they lash out at perfection. Holy Shit listen to that bass playing!! How the hell would you want Jimmy Bain after that??!!...Cant have a great bass player....left that in Deep Purple and I want attention!!( RB) LMFAO!!
The great bands fell, and were slowly replaced by empty, pathetic pop songs of no musical ability. How i wish i had the benefit of age to witness this band in its prime.
@CurtainChicken i totally agree with you!how i wish i was there when these bands where the true music that the world knew and there were no pop faggs or hip hop or whatever..my father can easily think how was it,because he lived in that times and you know what?.the true music was like dire straits-down to the water line .he told me some time..i was waking in the morning and i turned on the pick-up and these songs made me start my day happily..no pop no crap...
@CurtainChicken Killer bands are still out there. You just have to look for them. Once the MSM turned it back (thank God!) on it, Metal was free to return back to it's true form and not that of the Poison/Bon Jovi or other bubblegum pop-tart music groups the MSM wanted to label Metal. I come across a lot of killer local and Euro-Metal still. Plus I make my own with my band. So, trust me on this... It is STILL out there. :D And everybody I know who still plays is influenced by stuff like this
@CurtainChicken You know the same will be said for the pathetic pop songs in some years and people who listen to them now will then feel nostalgic about them. Music in the future will probably involve just a dj and a computer. It is sad. We should try to keep these bands alive.
@YuckyMuffin real music stands the test of time. Hence the reason great bands such as DIO, Rainbow, and Pink Floyd, and Deep Purple will never be forgotten in history. Goddamn i love this music so much. it seems all the good that mortals know, and all of heaven we have below. Maybe if there was more music like this, the world would be a little less crazy.
Well there is more music like this............its the people that are too arrogant to recognize it and wanna listen to stupid shit the media craps out onto society. People are stupid.

I agree with that completely, I was born in 96 and I am very disappointed in music today. There are maybe 10 NEW bands that I like today, and all of the originals are still great. However many of the originals are either dead, retiring, or losing their touch due to age. Music is just Pop and Rap today. I hate going around and being nearly crucified because I like old rock. Also it would have been incredible to see all of the great artists in their prime, how about you?
I was lucky enough to see one of my favourite bands (AC/DC) in concert last year, but I have to agree- it would have been brilliant to have seen them in their prime.
I can't even walk into school in a Rainbow shirt without someone asking who they are, and then when they find out, I'm penalised for liking real music. I can't stand Pop and Rap, and like you, there are maybe 10 new(ish) bands that I listen to.
@glassthroughmyheart same here. people always ask me about band merch i wear and "when are you gonna cut your hair?!" i usually just give'm the bird now cuz i'm tired or anwsering lol.
@petasucks1 my friends and family are all conspiring to get me to cut my hair and get a new pair of chucks.... luckily both my parents have heard of rainbow and my dad was one of the original fans when they started off...
@MrSomonestolemyname I didin't realy understood your question. Where you asking me if I was talking abaut bands or if I was talking abaut albums or songs? If your answer is yes then i'm talking abaut new bands that are good.
@MrSomonestolemyname welll... let's see, from White Wizzard I recomend you "Over the top" a great song and the album with the same name is just fantastic! All the songs from that album are good except the last half of the last song,i think it's to repetitive."High speed GTO" is also a WW classic . From Cauldron listern to"Chained to the nite" album especialy to the track called "Chained up in chains" . From Wolf... I don't realy listern much to wolf. Try the song called "In the shadow of steel"
@MrSomonestolemyname Abaut Holly Grail , Icarus Witch and Steelwing I don't know what to say(I have only listerned to them for like 10mins each), they are good but I haven't favorited any of their songs yet. There would be another band, it's called "Enforcer" and my favorite song by them is called "Black Angel" (don't be descouraged by the title, they sound much like NWOBHM, in fact the instrumentals remind me of Iron Maiden's first two albums)
@glassthroughmyheart Chin up, kid. Same shit happened to me twenty years ago. Just remember that the good music always comes back in style. Folks will rediscover it in time. Then you'll be a trend-setter.
I am amazed that Blackmore Fired both Gruber(Bass) and Driscoll(Drums) after this album. The Bass lines are just awsome and IMHO, The grumming is just as good as Powell era Rainbow. Driscoll might not be as powerfull as Powell but he certainly has some pretty neat sounding stuff going on and can punish those skins with the best of them.
this number is fabulous, since it did that mention, "meet me when the sun is on the western sky, the fighting must begin before another some die, crossbow in the fire line...", what a practical advice, nowadays we seldom hear a genuine advice such as this. what happen to this world, anybody knows?
I hate it when this song gets to 3.35, but I tell my self that it's ok, I can just press the replay button

@MrPopescuTheSecond Are you talking about new bands that is good?
Albums, songs?
MrSomonestolemyname 1 year ago
@MrSomonestolemyname I didin't realy understood your question. Where you asking me if I was talking abaut bands or if I was talking abaut albums or songs? If your answer is yes then i'm talking abaut new bands that are good.
MrPopescuTheSecond 1 year ago
@MrPopescuTheSecond You know new bands that are good are rare so
can you recommend me some songs by the bands you mentioned?
MrSomonestolemyname 1 year ago
@MrSomonestolemyname welll... let's see, from White Wizzard I recomend you "Over the top" a great song and the album with the same name is just fantastic! All the songs from that album are good except the last half of the last song,i think it's to repetitive."High speed GTO" is also a WW classic . From Cauldron listern to"Chained to the nite" album especialy to the track called "Chained up in chains" . From Wolf... I don't realy listern much to wolf. Try the song called "In the shadow of steel"
MrPopescuTheSecond 1 year ago
@MrSomonestolemyname Abaut Holly Grail , Icarus Witch and Steelwing I don't know what to say(I have only listerned to them for like 10mins each), they are good but I haven't favorited any of their songs yet. There would be another band, it's called "Enforcer" and my favorite song by them is called "Black Angel" (don't be descouraged by the title, they sound much like NWOBHM, in fact the instrumentals remind me of Iron Maiden's first two albums)

@MrPopescuTheSecond I look that up. Thanks.

@MrSomonestolemyname No problem, mate!

Dio must hold and everlasting concert in Asgard, where the gods rock out to the overwhelming bad-assory.
