Yes..always paint around the edges of the canvas for a better finish, it may seem obvious but people in my Art group seem to never do so and it sometimes makes me feel like going and painting those bits for them..streaks of OCD I tell you.

Thanks so much. When I started to paint on 1.5" stretchers and paint the edge, my sales doubled. Really, people love the idea that they don't have to go frame the painting after they buy it. It makes it feel like a finished piece of art over all.
Well I can't see Jeff Goldblum sitting in the branches so you must mean the Wollemi (?) Pine?? Wouldn't they be a sight to behold!! I see what you mean, your background holds shades of the mist of ages.
