Silence of the lambs was amazing then the sequels as ALWAYS became money making gay films. The interesting writing always seems to fly out the window in horror sequels. Liek the work really hard to make the first one perfect, then just rest on its name and make trash. Superman suffered from the same thing after part 2, trash . Why do we pay these people to write trash sequels????why???
@nyran125 I agree on that point with most sequels, but I have to disagree as far as Silence Of The Lambs goes, I really enjoyed Red Dragon and Hannibal, but it's different for some people, some prefer to see less of Anthony so it has more mystery, and some like me enjoy seeing him as often as possible.
In a battle of intimidation to see who is the more intimidating doctor. They are just talking, Lecter is behind glass, who do you think would win? Hannibal Lecker or Dr. House?
JESUS CHRIST SAVES - For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life
i'd like to see clint eastwood, jack nicholson, morgan freeman, and anthony hopkins in a movie. just before they all pass away and leave us with justin beiber and god knows who for entertainment.
@gabriell16bishop LOL fuckin amen to that.... Its just too bad Denis hopper went as well, All the greats are faded and all there is now is just talentless garbage in the mainstream world of entertainment.
@gelt2 Agreed!!!! he's soo good at being Lecture!!! but the "Why" in Hannible Rising is sooooo sad... but i Love hannible and the power behind the character and each movie
Those behind-the-scenes shots are actually taken from the third in the Hopkins trilogy of Hannibal called Red Dragon (a remake of the first ever Hannibal film which had William Petersen and Brian Cox as Hannibal).
what i like about him is the fact, that he doesn't belabor, that he has got great talent..^^ *forgive me for any language-mistakes; i'm a big hopkins-fan from germany ;D*
When I was younger, I read all three books and watch each movie when it came out in theaters. I was in love with this character and Anthony Hopkins fits the perfect description for this role. Even after the film I became an obsessed Hopkins fan ^_^ Truly a charming man
Anthony Hopkins and Jeremy Irons are alike in that not only are they both extremely talented actors.Their voices are so hypnotic you can basically listen to him read the phone book and you will be entertained. I just love watching Hopkins do interviews because regardless of what he's talking about I am transfixed each and every time.
I completely understand why the 'humanitarian' doctor and the part of Lecter were linked ; a good director would see that ; it's not the good or bad they do, but the shared knowledge and intellect of those characters, and their sophisticated demeanour etc
lets see, set the land speed record, is a serial killer; is a very very wealthy business man, met death, psychiatrist, greatest freedom fighting vigilante, and of course hundreds more, ones just as great : )
What an amazing actor! He can do anything from horror (Magic, The Silence of the Lambs) to war movies (A Bridge too Far) to drama (Meet Joe Black) to action (The Mask of Zorro). He's had such a long and varied career, and he's also done some good TV work (The Lindbergh Kidnapping Case). Great actor.
This may be just me, but I find him sexy! I might have gone a bit mad, but i actually find a 70 year old man sexy! I ts probably the voice and the allure...
@MrMovieAnalyst Yes it is. Messy is the adjective (used to modify nouns); messily is the adverb (used to modify any part of speech other than nouns.). People often aren't as correct with their parts of speech nowadays as Sir Anthony is.
@DoggieFosters Okay, thanks. It figures they wouldn't have Hopkins say a non-word. Though in The Silence of the Lambs he 'slurs' his speech somewhat - "sometimes you wear L'Air du Temps" sounding like "sometimes you wear a leather t(h)ong". (I think that is intentional, to show that he's speaking in tongues.)
