I am a tall guy about 6'4 so I consistantly do a index finger on the line but the grip width should be inline so that your elbow are staying under your wrists to maintain that support throughout the lift. Stay safe
hey i got a question. in training (not meet/comp) how wide should i grip the bar while benching? i usually do index finger on the ring, people are tellin me thats too wide in training, any advice?
@punk064 thats illegal wide in comp. personally i never go that wide. you can go that wide if you want but it puts a lot of stress on your shoulders. i would use a comp grip for your widest grip which is the ring between your middle and ring finger. this is just my opinion based on what i've heard from other people. but do what feels comfortable for you. happy benching.
@ScatMan103 you got to start somewhere bro. i know what you mean tho. when i started out i was very skinny but strong on all my lifts naturally but had to travel a long way with the bar to my chest. i have people telling me that i dont have to go down very far now after putting on 70 pounds
dude that met-rx 50/50 shirt has alot of pop in it.. wow might have to put in an order for one, im sure this will make me a 1,000 lbs bencher. wow thanks mark ;-)
Great job Mark. 505 X 7 RAW off of a Manpon. As far as RAW strength is concerned, you're even more powerful than Gene Rychlak who is a 1000 bench. Great job.
I was aware Met-RX made 50/50 Cotton Poly shirts. This video has completely opened my eyes and will undoubtedly take my training to a new level. Thank you.
Because he can touch easier in a single shirt and sometimes just getting it down faster makes your numbers bigger. The faster down, the faster up. In a double ply, he has more support, but he has to waste a lot of energy getting it down. He's better off in single.
for what is that gay pillow ?

its no fair. when their chests are that big they only have to drop the weight 6 inches. i have to drop 300 pounds like 1ft and a half.

Why are your single and double ply max so close?
