On 24 occasions, I topped 65 km (40 mi.), 20 to San Francisco, 1 to Sausalito, 1 to Oakland, 1 to Half Moon Bay, 1 to Gilroy, and 1 to Santa Cruz. You might want a camcorder with a 60GB hard drive

I carry a small pump in my backpack, if it was a slow leak that would be enough to get me to a local bike shop. Probably a good idea to get a spare tube to carry around with me at some point though.
