LMFAO, he means that there is no real band. Have you heard of OST? This is from it, Original Soundtrack. It's basically just the voice actors (If you don't what is voice actor then *facepalm*) singing and is used in the anime.

You guys need to listen more carefully - Mio, sure she has a beautiful voice but listen to the chorus when she sings "TOJICHAOOO" She CANT HIT THE NOTE!!! UNLIKE YUI!!! Toyosaki Aki, who does Yui's voice is much more talented (musically) and a better singer, IMO she is able to hit every note effortlessly. But I give Mio credit cause she has passion. But Yui is much more talented she has what a lot of singers lack - good rhythym and natural vocal pitch

perhaps its different for non-native Japanese speakers, but its just to me Mio just sounds too cliche - like a lot of J-pop singers with no talent. Im not bashing mio though, I still love K-On!

Either way, I've always thought that Japanese pop had a lot more melodic and harmonic complexity than the American variety. (That's good, FYI)
