Actually this song has Jade doing a bit of the ad libs when she does her solo part. She does it in all her solo part from You Got The Love, the opening of Silent Night, Baby when she sings the Diana Ross part but with a slight twist, Keep Me Hanging On. There are other examples of her ad libs but I can't think at the top of my head. Generally she is natural at it and it comes almost spontaneously. It is a skill that can be learned but usually it is best done by someone who is a natural.

They sing a deviation of the of the main melody and seemingly without preparation. Jazz is a good example of ad libs when a musician plays something that goes away from the main melody and then returning to it roots at some later stage of the song. Hope that makes sense.
