  • This has got to be one of the top if not then the best medieval war movies of all time foreign or not!

  • @PimpingRice The time period this movie's based on is Late Qing. It's modern, not medieval.

  • @wenjilu I was wondering how they got "Napolean" cannons when I realized it was set during the 1860s. Chinese military developments sure did stagnate.

  • Unrestrained by the boundaries of time and place, she is free to go where her mind takes her, and her incredible adventures blur the lines between whats real and whats just imaginary... Find film on sitemoovis.co.cc! i hope this helps :)

  • Takeshi Kaneshiro sounds Japanese, is he?

  • @ashutosh232 his father is Japanese and his mother is Taiwanese

  • @Metallicanine true. He's half Japanese(Okinawan) and half Taiwanese(Han Chinese). And of course for the retards, here's what I did ----> Nationality(Ethnicity)

  • 63 Vietnamese and Indian don't like this movie, they were pissed in pants as I guess!!! ~_^

  • Great to see Jet doing something not martial arts dominated. He's really underrated as an actor.

  • this looks cool to see? can't wait :)

  • is Wai Man Yip related to Yip Man?

  • @ThatxStaphyy No.

  • @luyben12

    My pleasure :D

Another movie you need to see is Red Cliff (unless you already have). It's another Chinese-based one, though compared to this movie (which is good, don't get me wrong), it's mutiple times more epic!

  • @luyben12

You should check out this one film called "Mongol: The Rise of Genghis Khan". A very good movie, imo.

  • Andy lau's acting is amazing in this film.

  • @emeraldFloyd He is great in Fulltime Killer. First movie I ever saw him in. Been looking up his films and watching him ever since. GREAT actor!

  • @masterarun007 the lady is an exception

  • Woah were I the only one thinking "wtf hes holding a blade with his bare hands, must hurt" right after the Magnet logo comes up and I am like "ahh that makes sense, magnets ofc.. Wait what?" :D

  • I saw the movie just rescently, and i dont get in the end, why was Er-Hu killed in the end? I understand why Jet Li got killed by his brother, because it was a rule in their brother rule. But i dont understand why the cannons were shott at Jet Li whilst he was stabbed by his brother? If anyone could explain the questions, i would be really pleased.

  • Comment removed

  • @zorren1 i think because the 3 old mans think er hu is a thread 4 gov..

  • @zorren1 1: From the movie you can see Er-Hu already has different political concept with Jet Li, and Er-Hu has good reputation and influence in the troop, that makes a threat to Jet Li, that means Er-Hu can weaken Jet Li's power. 2: Jet-Li is not belonged to any factions in the goverment, especially not the queen's, therefore if he handle the power that will obviously be a threat to the queen, that' why the queen send someone to assassinate him, and after Jet Li die, they will put the murder

  • @zorren1 guilt on his brother, is that clear?

  • @justwaita I dont get why Er-Hu was killed, and i REALLY dont get why Jet Li was killed by the cannons, he becamse shotten by the cannons whilst the brother stabbed him?

  • a great movie stays great 4ever, no matter 3D or not

  • My friend plays Brad his Son In this movie. Hes Super Excited about this movie!!! so am i hes coming over for Christmas and i haven't seen him since Febuary. Excited im going to get to see this movie at filmsi.co.cc this evening.

  • I saw this movie and really enjoyed it :)

Does anyone else know of any other Jet Li films that are like this, in terms of focusing more so on large-scale war/battles (historic-based or otherwise), as oppossed to martial arts?

  • Does this film have english dub or subtitles?

  • @craxis34 yeah for sure, most HK films do

  • @luyben12 I'm afraid I have yet to watch enough of them to have any good recommendations. I hear the films of Akira Kurosawa are quite notable, though.

  • @luyben12 You're welcome. I believe that the history of Asia is far too neglected in our public consciousness. Not only is is hugely significant but Hollywood producers would be much less strapped for ideas if they simply looked to it for plots and got over their reluctance to use Asian actors in leading roles. For instance, make a film about the Boxer Rebellion and you've got the story of the eight most powerful nations in the world at the time converging on China in an apocalyptic war.

  • @themysteriouscrumpet Except the boxer rebellion wasn't really a tough fight at all for the Europeans. If you want to shoot a movie about that subject, it would just be gratuitous violence. Because that was what the Boxer Rebellion was all about, people slaughtering each other, looting, and rapes.

  • @626718 Well, the Siege of Peking was quite eventful, and the victory of the Europeans and Japanese was not immediately assured from the beginning when Admiral Seymour's expedition failed. It would be an interesting story to examine because its outcome has basically played a major role in determining how China views the west and vice versa in the century since. Besides, it's not like films haven't been made before about the West's clashes with the underarmed east.

  • @626718 It's like in "Zulu"; You know that historically the British won the war, but there is still a tremendous amount of suspense regarding whether or not the undermanned garrison at Rorke's Drift will make it. Or in "Khartoum", where those who don't know the history would probably be very surprised to know that the British didn't even win the first war in the Sudan. The interesting parts of these stories are in the stuff along the way, in between the conventional combat.

  • @626718 Regardless of the outcomes, they are human interest stories.

  • @luyben12 That would be the leader of the rebellion and the self-proclaimed ruler of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom of Great Peace, Hong Xiuquan, a failed candidate for the Imperial Civil Service who claimed to have divine visions instructing him to destroy the Ch'in dynasty.

  • "director: peter chan" lol i though it said peter pan at first

  • @mrkhem1234 which is funny because its not a comedy film, stop spamming you fucking moron

  • Ohhh it"t Takeshi Kaneshiro!

  • i hate gun powder ~

  • @safeinvestbl lmfao i know ur a spammer lol but i'd like to see what your saying on this movie lol

  • @themysteriouscrumpet You sir, speak sense.

  • anyone know where i can watch this? please dont give me bullshit sites with surveys cuz i really wanna watch this with eng subtitles....:\

  • @dagasdt you can try torrenting it. it's hard to dvds for this esp in canada. thepiratebay org has it or you can try demonoid

oh yea, just a reminder, if you do not have a certain historical background you will have no idea what's going on or why did the people do what they do.

  • @72dew thanks for the tip but i just finished watching it online yesterday :P it was a good movie although the end was sad :(

  • I love ming and ching chinese history after 1912 it is not as intresting.

  • Wow, I said years ago, that I wondered why they had never made a movie about the taping rebellon. This war happened at the same time as the American civl war, and killed about 50X the number of people. To all who want to know more about this one of the worst wars in human history read "Gods Chinese Son" by Jonathan Spence.

  • I love this movie! But this trailer makes it look like an action movie while it's more of a drama. Yes, these are the awesome battle scenes but if you dislike generals arguing with each other, then this movie may not be for you. I like it because I'm interested in asian war movies but not that much in martial arts. The trailer didn't even mention actress Jinglei Xu, who is a part of the plot.

It's interesting IF you like drama. The last fight isn't about a huge battle, but, well you'll see.

  • This movie was great. The second half had very little action, however.

  • fuck the chinese were some race of people back then.

  • chinese movies are so retarded. They just move their body alot and make wierd faces. Thinking they look cool, when they all look the same.

  • @iWantMyNuggets American movies are so retarded. They just shout a lot and make weird noises thinking they look so cool when they're all just white pussies who can't fight or act.

See how stupid that sounded? Yeah, you sounded even stupider.

  • @SithianHawk Eat a dead hamster

  • @iWantMyNuggets Yum.

  • @SithianHawk race ahs nothing to do with that. that comment is a disgrace to any great chinese hero or true martial artist. appearance means almost next to nothing

  • @ApprenticeOfAnubis you didn't get the punchline!

  • @iWantMyNuggets Lol, people in all races may look the same. If you can't tell the difference between Jet Li, Andy Lau and Takeshi Kaneshiro, then I'm surprised if you can even distinguish between your left and right ball/titty.

It's not that hard to tell asians apart. I have more trouble with the Olsen twins or all those white chicks who wear too much makeup and then they all look the same.

  • do they ever talk in this movie xD?

  • the Takeshi guy is in House of Flying Daggers, Red Cliff, and now Warlords..wow!! Funny thing is that I watched those previews back to back

  • Three hot guys in one movie! That's good enough for me!

  • hurm...i think i never get bored wif this chinese war movies....their skill could never make me bored....so fun!!!

  • this Chinese shitty ass fightings man its getting boring for me now watch this things like 1000 times!

  • @RSEarner why the hell did you watch it 1000 times? That's just idiotic

  • @shaokem different movies.

  • i take it this has already come out

  • this one of the best movies ever made

  • About time somebody made a movie about the Taiping Rebellion. You would think that a civil war started by a man who claimed to be the brother of Jesus Christ that killed more people than World War Two and put the future of an entire dynasty on the line would attract a bit more attention from Western filmmakers, but apparently we're much too busy re-hashing all the notable films of the past seventy years in space with with 3-D gimmicks that people got tired of in the eighties.

  • @themysteriouscrumpet very good comment.

  • @TheCoffeeandafag Thank you, I'm trying to persuade people to resist vehemently the planned remake of the film Akira.

  • @themysteriouscrumpet are you fucking retarded, 30 million people died in the Taiping Rebellion

    70 MILLION DIED IN WW2

    GET THE FACTS RIGHT RETARD

  • @tHeWasTeDYouTh Thirty million is the conservative estimate. The maximum amount of deaths in the Taiping rebellion is estimated as being, at the most, at one hundred million.

  • This is a documentary of what Japanese people get up to in their spare time.

  • @Warfresco

Their Chinese silly X3 *sissy posse

  • GODDAMN MONGORIANS ><

  • Takeshi Kaneshiro shit had to rewind that

  • i so love jet li's movie hes so fucking great in these kinda movies best martial art fighter ever

  • @BadPastGoodFuture Donnie yen is a badass too. Check out ip man if you haven't already movie is awesome. jet li an donnie yen have fought a couple times in a few different movies great fight scenes.

  • @kryptic127 is that so?

please send me the names and ill get the movie thanks very much

the ip hmm yeah i saw it kinda not fully but its an tight movie all about fighting true.

but its chinese so i cant understand

  • @BadPastGoodFuture Ya gotta find Ip man subtitled in english lol. But jet li an donnie yen have fought in Hero and Once Apon a Time In China 2. But im telling you if you don't mind watching subtitled movies Ip man is one of the best. I was a lil hesitant at first because im not huge fan of subtitled movies but that one was definately worth it.

  • @kryptic127 yeah lol samewise

afc i did saw ip man without subtitles and i tought it was ILL already yeah forsure

i keep watching 40 mins untill i didnt get it i putted it out but i will get the subtitteled one imma huge fan of jetli almost watch all of his movie where ;fearless my favorite is

  • this movie looks sweet as shit, why the comments say different

  • @6mastera9 it was good. trust me

  • @6mastera9

Cause they don't like subtitle films.

  • @marshall9doom There is a dub of this though.

  • lol they copyed a song from the last samurai a little bit :)

  • one word EPIC

  • boring film

  • We rented this movie and it was ok but a little confusing.

  • @willgardner1989 really? i was going to watch it but i figure the story with war in it wouldn't be that good

  • @Locbui1989

you dont like war movies? :D anyhow, the flick's themes are really more about drama and betrayal

  • Im so gonna watch this on netflix

  • i hate that movie :( it was so good and i enjoyed it so much. then instead of ending they just make it more and more sad :(

  • that was a great movie

  • was great movie , great meaning to it, with love honor and betrayal

  • wu yang was so stupid to kill that woman for nothing

  • it was one of the sadest movies ever....

  • This movie is beautiful in the nature that you never betray your brother. It's all you have in the beginning and end of life. Remember that the world is inevitably against you. If you have no one to trust with your life you will be defeated.

I will never betray those true "brothers" of mine since they will be there for support even if I am wrong.

  • this was actually a really good movie

  • jet li is in it thats all i need to know

  • Jet Li was kind of a traitor in this movie.

  • And another thing: by warlords don't you mean Three Brothers?

  • We haven't made many good movies lately...There are good movies being made, don't get me wrong, but comparatively a lot of it is just bs...

  • looks like a typical unrealistic no storyline tonne of action asian films

  • @Herimia Herimia your totally rong :) ive seen it and it haves a deep story altough us sad,and the movie is realistic, just watch it befor judge it ;)

  • "Jet lee... Andy Lau... and Takeshi Kaneshiro are..... Warlords"

wtf? i thought they were japanese?

  • @GodOfJumpers haha you funny man!

  • This makes me want to eat rice!

  • @Serethen bahahahahahah...thats hallarious

  • @Serethen ...this could be in Mongolia, could be mining giants BHP& Rio Tinto battling it out for the coking coal projects, or maybe a JV take over from large Chinese Wuhansteel...looks like alot of volatility in this region if investing.

  • @DrYenisun

    w00t?

  • @Serethen I just looooveee your comment! hahaa.. :D

  • @Serethen y?

  • @Serethen

    lol :D

  • @Serethen lmao

  • I seen this movie already like 3yrs ago. why are they puttin it in the movie like its brand new. this movie is old.

  • @onamoo06 They always do that. SMH.. And you're right. It's old.

  • is this movie in english

  • @lost9559 i think its subbed

  • Today i watched this movie on HBO ... This movie is EPIC!!! Ending was sad, when one of three brothers say to another brother (to governor i think), he must die, he fights, he was broken legs, and still fights ... It was sad, and i cried at that moment ;(

    Awesome movie ...

  • @CrucioPL come one dude... youre a spoiler

  • @suyoplive

    Sorry :D

  • Hope Bollywood learn's from these Chinese films. All they make is costly copied crap with cheap jokes and crazy songs.

  • @FransisR Totally agree with you

  • hahahahahaha, couldnt stop laughing after the above comments.

  • God I couldn't stop crying through this whole movie!!

  • xbox live lol seems random =D

  • After going to China (was very awesome) and getting to explore a lot of temples and walk through the Forbidden City (now known as the Palace Museum). It's going to make watching these kinds of movies even more awesome, because I saw some of these places with my own eyes (of course when I was there it was crawling with tourists lol, but still epic).

  • Is that the same cast as the Movie "Hero" or do chinese people just look all the same?

  • @mrniceguy1338 This is a new movie made in 2008, very different from hero. In my opinion, it's much better than hero.

  • @ifuckccp

well that doesnt answer my question at all :P

  • @ifuckccp hero was too artsy

  • @kaindrg

the problem of hero, is that, it kissed the ass of a big dictator, the first emperor in China. In the movie, this dictator is a great politician, however, the reality, he was a cruel dictator, the mentor of today's fucking Mao.

  • @ifuckccp lenism was the mentor of mao qin was a strong but tyranical ruler he was nessacary for political unity and cultural. he was a criminal but atleast he got us somewere. hero was too artsy and shit. plz look at history more objectively

  • @ifuckccp when china wasnt ruled by a self centered dictator , randomly sacrificing his people for his leisure ?

  • @sewagedweller sure that China has always been ruled by dictators, but some turned out to be great. Not suggesting you to go read history or something, just saying you shouldn't comment on something that you don't know about.

  • So much hate to China, It smells like American-Brain-Washing...

  • hmmmm finally something good came over in the shipping crates from china!!!!!!

  • 0:53 : Attacksound from Medieval II: Total War :P
