@SirGriefALot - Same here. I remember when I first played the demo in school. While a lot of people would consider the first level of Super Mario Bros. to be the most memorable first level in video game history, I'd hafta say that the one that I recall first is the first level of Out of This World. So bad-ass.
@kubevubin When I was in the last year of primary school we had to write a story and so me and my friend wrote the plot from another world and got a sticker with a smiley face on it :D ah, memories
@kubevubin I agree! my brother played this game when i was a kid and years later i would remember this game and images of getting chased by the black monster randomly and think "god i wish i new what the name of that game is" then a week ago seen a AVGN video where he mentioned it and DAMN was i exited and for good reason.. this game is fucking GREAT!!!
@mrcoolr429 - Do you remember which AVGN video he mentioned this game in? I don't recall him ever mentioning it, but I'd like to know what he had to say about it. I can't wait to see what Eric Chahi, the game's creator, has in store for current-gen consoles, as he's working on something now.
@mrcoolr429 - Ah, I just watched it a while ago. Yeah, not anything more than a mention. It's nice that it finally helped you to figure out the game's title, though.
The PC version never had music. The game's original developer didn't care for the idea of the console versions having background music during game play.
@kubevubin i think one of my favorite parts about the game on the snes was the music when you died. then again it was the first version i ever played of the game. it seems much more creepier without it which i enjoy.
@robotface74 - I like the music in the console versions, but the SNES version - for me - was too flawed. The slowdown was intolerable for me, so I tended to prefer the Genesis version, personally. I love this remake, though, especially since I bought a second version of it through GOG that doesn't have DRM.
For the record, my favorite part is the entire first level, which is just beyond awesome.
im not impressed i had the amiga version and this pc remake could have been alot better. ok the backgrounds are more detailed and it runs a little smoother but thats it. the graphics could have been improved a lot more.
This game was on a lot of different consoles. I used to own the SNES version, but I didn't like it as much as any other version that I'd played. It just ran too slowly, in my opinion. I loved the Genesis version, though, as well as the PC version. This remake is even better. I absolutely love this game.
Yeah, I'm still waiting for YouTube to finish processing the HD version of the vid. This game looks gorgeous. I might be imagining things, but this version of the game seems to not keep track of certain events if they're done out of the intended order.
The best graphics out of all megadrive games ever!! And they were still well worse than these!

@kubevubin Yeah, there's nothing like randomly appearing in water and getting chased by a bear thing :D That thing scared the shit out of me....

@kubevubin yeah its one of his latest. its the "lester unlikely" episode. he just mentions the name and shows a quick pic of gameplay.

@robotface74 - Ah, by the way, the GOG version also comes with a really cool Making Of video, which shows you a lot about how the game was made.

I wouldn't want anymore from a remake. I like the graphical style on most of the sprites, and I wouldn't want them more detailed, personally.

More info, Kevinski, please. =)

It's the PC version. You can find the site by Googling the following:
another world remake
You can try out a demo on the official site, as well as buy the full game for $8.99.

Awesome, saves me the frustration. I got pretty far in the fantastic homebrew GBA port. This high def remake looks so much better.
