  • Too bad we are fucking each other up for oil

  • I imagine that RD fans are smart enough to search for "degray" or "Methusalah" if they are interested in this. Makes it look like marketing to me.

  • why is marketing such a bad idea?

Micheal ROSE is a evolutionary biologist and he has his own research plan to understand aging that he developed like 20 years ago! but he couldn't get the funding for the research, had he marketed and let more people know about his plans he may have gotten funded! why should SENS researchers make the same mistake Micheal Rose did?

  • If he's got something to say, he's welcome to say it here, as long as he can start saying it in a civil fashion :)

  • Thanks monosock.

Yes, I'm sceptical about this whole business. And comments like AudreydegreyFan, his advice to ban my comments, well, that makes me really suspicious!!

  • LOL... well, keep in mind not everyone creating or commenting on these videos is representing the MFoundation ;)

...My comments are hanging on post. Gonna try breaking this one up...

  • I've got another question, it might be a simple question. What does this have to do with Richard Dawkins. No I mean it, what the heck does this have to do with Richard Dawkins?

  • ...Heh. I'm new to YouTube. I'm not sure how those tags got there; I'll get rid of them. Thanks for the heads-up.

  • I'd like to ask a question, why do you think that this group has any hope of ending aging?

  • Based on what I've heard from them and read on my own, it seems that they're taking a new and more effective approach to combat aging by focusing on cleaning up the damage rather than a. preventing the damage, which is a more complex ordeal, or b. treating the pathologies that result from the damage.

  • Well, I agree there approach is new, but effective? What evidence do we have of that?

Sure, if someone could fix the damage without knowing the cause, thats great! But what makes you think they can? Usually finding the cause is really helpful for finding the solution.

  • you mean like finding the cause of arterial plaques for instance? what would be the point of that? we know that those plaques cause heart disease which is the biggest killer in the developed world, so shouldn't we try to find ways to get rid of those plaques instead of researching more about how those plaques formed?

  • they are plenty of biologists working on figuring out the causes already, but there aren't enough of them working on trying to reverse or fix those problems.that's what we are trying to change!

  • Thats fine, have these guys found ways to get rid of the plaques?

  • the SENS plan is to target keto cholesterol degrading enzymes to the lysosomes of those cells, grad students at U of Arizona have found the enzymes to degrade keto cholesterol, and the next step is to target those enzymes to the lysosomes which have already been done with other enzymes by biologists who are working on lysosomal storage diseases.

  • why, awesome. Love the music...
