  • i agree, mstanish...length and weight will change the size adn 'drop' of tye 4 curls. Also, proper moisture balance, products used,...as with any texture of hair. Wet twist outs look completely different than dry twist outs on stretched hair also. There is no real texture change with type 4 hair as much as changes in the way our hair behaves based on what we do to it. What there is, is lack of visual information on what to expect as it grows, so thank you for representing us!!

  • Stop using the Andre Walker system for natural afro hair! There is a new chart for black natural hair that is ten times way more accurate. It is the actual texture of the hair not the size of the curl, or pattern. It comes in categories combining density , shine with the texture not curl size. The types of hair are thready, cottony, spongy, silky. Using the new system, you will realize that diverse black hair and 4c/4b/4a/3c is pointless and just a curl size which isn't helpful.

  • Lookin good sis. I'm still fighting the moisture battle and not always hitting the mark, but your hair looks beautiful.

  • I forgot to mention your hair looks really healthy and moisturized - That's something I'm still working on; but you are doing a fabulous job.

  • Beautiful! Your hair has really grown a lot. Keep up the good work.

  • i love this- im releaxed, but this is absolutely stunning! I love the ombre ends too.

  • What did you use to do your twist out? GORG!!!

  • fabulous! nice growth also!

  • This twist out is amazing...my twist out also come out nicely on dirty hair!!!

  • @ mstanish1 my sister (Shaneee27) loves your videos, and I just happened to see this 1, & I LOOOOVE your hair here...I just subscribed so that I can check out all of your videos & get 2 know your hair history. Just a quick question, what product did u use on your "dirty" hair 2 do your big twists (after you took down your protective style)? The definition is GORGEOUS!!! I'v recently decided to do protective styling to enhance my hair's health and to retain length, so I can't wait to see yours!!!

  • Gorgeous!!!

  • 4A, 4B, 4C your hair is beautiful!

  • your hair makes me want to cry....it just amazes me every time i come back and watch your vids. You help me keep my eyes on the prize. Just lovely

  • Your died ends look smaller. Are you cutting out the color slowly?

  • Lol, I had to come back & watch this again for some twist out inspiration. Love it!

  • I love good hair days! Your twist out is gorgeous :)

  • I am a 4c and can say that the longer my hair gets, the curls may loosen a bit. However, if worn in an Afro, it will still shrink considerably. When stretched out and moisturized with a protective style, my hair looks just like mstanish's hair in this video.

  • Can't wait for my twa to grow out...it will grow out right?? Lol

  • yaaaasss honey!

  • 2nd post - by the way, your hair looks great! i love the twist out!

  • I think I know why people r asking about ur hair texture. I started watching your videos long ago becuase your hair texture reminded me of mine. it look like wire. no offense but i'm a 4c/4b and my hair looks like wire. but your hair no longer looks that way. it looks a lot healthier which is great. I don't think people think negatively about the way 4c hair should look but your hair does look a lot healthier from when I first started watching your video. i'm sure that's why people r asking.

  • i love it its really nice

  • WORK IT GIRL!!!

  • it is really a great look for you!

  • LOVE IT!!!

  • You should be Chester Cheezn with that hair!! LOVE! LOVE! LOVE! Can't wait till my hair gets to that length. Gorgeous!!

  • Very pretty!!!! Loving the twist out

  • Your hair is really going good girly, I said this before and I am going to say it again, I LOVE YOUR HAIR!

  • FABULOUS!

  • Absolutely gorgeous!

  • *love* Why'd you look so concerned?? lol. Your hair looks great!

  • Looks great!!!

  • BEautiful!!!!

  • are you really 4C :D

  • @TXejas19 That's so ironic you said that. I was just thinking I may need to resurrect the 4c issue. Have you noticed that it seems like the longer the hair grows, the less it seems 4c, I don't just mean MsTanish, I mean in general. You notice there are barely any new videos about the 4c texture? I'm really thinking what was initially thought to be 4c is really just extra tight coily 4b.

  • @mommyanme Here's what I've observed.

    1. the only 4c youtubers are TWA, lol which is why I had to ask her. (maybe I'm not looking in the right places)

    2. As soon as people see a 4c woman with defined coils and neat hair, they immediately assign a new hair type.

I do know that weight can alter curl appearance, I have 4c but the pattern isn't changing from any weight (yet). it's part of the reason I don't like trying to put hair in a category because everyones hair is so unique

  • @mommyanme thats because the longer your hair gets the heavier it is. Have you read the description box?

  • @anewmeePassion I'm not sure if you misread something I wrote but your reply sounds kinda smart-alecky and rude. Yes I have read te description and yes I have hair of my own that grows so I know it get heavier too. All I was doing was simply bringing up a legitimate issue. Apparantly the type 'c' is some sort of taboo and people misread anything you seem to say about it. My hair is actually very similar to Ms. Tanish and I have been a long time follower since she got on here.

  • @mommyanme Hey ladies, I will address my supposedly "changing texture" in a future vid. People think that if your hair is 4C your supposed to walk around with a shrunken nappy fro. And as soon as you post a video of your hair looking remotely nice then its not 4C hair.

  • @anewmeePassion Hey ladies, I will address my supposedly "changing texture" in a future vid. People think that if your hair is 4C your supposed to walk around with a shrunken nappy fro. And the as soon as you post a video of your hair looking remotely nice then its not 4C hair. We really need to break this train of thought in the natural hair community. As women with afro textured hair we are far to conditioned when it comes to the appearance of what a certain hair type should look like.

  • @mstanish1 (((applause))..its like people arent listening...3 inches of 4c hair will NOT look the same as 14 or 20 inches of 4c hair...not to mention that hair density, etc. factors into how each head of 4c hair will look. No two heads of hair will look exactly the same, even if the hair type is the same/similar

  • @mstanish1

I hate the hair typing system and your hair is wonderful.

  • @TXejas19 Hi, I've been telling some of the other ladies on here I will address my hair texture in a future vid :) You guys bought up some really good points.
