  • wow. that is so wrong! i would never have known about it if you didnt do this fast ... i recognized your name so i watched the video. i def am gonna call somebody in canada.

  • Mia- I admire your passion but what good does it do for your cause and the people your trying to help to make yourself sick and to be weak its better to remain healthy and continue the fight . going on a hunger strike is just wasted time and really serves no purpose ...remaining strong does......

  • i think im gonna go get a burger..

  • Ms Farrow, you are a brave woman. Armed with these facts, the indictment of al-Bashir seems irresponsible, immoral and politically motivated.

"President Omar al-Bashir of Sudan has finally earned his day of infamy: On March 4, he became the first sitting head of state to be indicted for war crimes and crimes against humanity by the fledgling International Criminal Court" -- Indictment of al-Bashir: A moral and legal victory - SFC March 2009

  • Mia, you're skinny enough already. Really, how long can this hunger strike last? Maybe a week at best.

  • Nothing like the guilt of a limousine liberal.

  • She's brave enough to accept responsibility and try to do something to make up for it, to improve things. Most people in her position would rather ignore and deny the reality, and pretend that their lives are independent from reality.

People like her should be encouraged and praised for their present efforts instead of having their less-than humanitarian pasts being hold against them.

Unless that guilt appears attractive, there is no chance for turning the limousine liberals into real humans.

  • Starve yourself...great idea.

  • Go on Oprah. I hope you get as much publicity as needed and then some. Good Luck Mia!

  • i am so confused right now

  • God Bless You, Mia.

  • Thanks for your bravery, it's time for things to change, how does one send them food or clothing through the mail, if that is possible, is their a place to send them supplies or only demand our congress members send them food?

  • Hi KamikazeKoscki,

I'm not from the "Darfur Fast for Life" organization, but I can suggest that you check their fastdarfur. org website (the video description box in the upper right corner of this page has a clickable link)

I've noticed that they have excellent information updates and web links, so that everyone can take effective action by contacting their politicians. That's the most important thing.

Many people have joined the fast, and you can see those links on their web page too.

  • Not to be crass but, have you been downtown in any major big city in the US on the weekends? Look in the ally's and side streets! Bring attention to the issue, not the location!

  • Hi rmonclairwalker,

The current Darfur crisis is very specific, and very time-critical.

Sudan expelled or halted more than a dozen relief agencies in Darfur. That's like turning off a specific power switch for a specific life-support system of over 1 million people.

International political will is the ONLY thing that's lacking. Political action could mean that the "life support" gets "switched back on".

...and time is already running out for over 1 million human beings.

  • Mia i love you in almost all your movies but hunny there are people starving right here in our own country,if more stars like you would reach out to your own maybe the world would be a better place for us to reach out to others

  • you could be more respectufull dont yoiu think?ur the stupid one over here.

  • Darfur, Gaza, Sri Lanka... the world is turning to shit. Why cant the UN do anything? I feel like people are preventing real help to these areas.

  • While I support your cause for helping Darfur, I don't believe your methods are effective enough Mrs. Farrow.

  • I can't believe people are saying "help Americans" when it comes to something as cheap as food. In America the poor are fat, why would they need more food?

How does the OP suggest we force aid into the region? Military action? This is when it becomes far more expensive than food.

  • i would have to agree with ManYooFooty24 because there are so many people in America who can't even feed themselves and I am starting to get tired of America helping other countries we need to solve our problems before we help others. Not that I say we shouldn't help them but you starving yourself is only effecting yourself.

  • Hey there carlyxx25,

Sudan expelled or halted operations of over a dozen relief agencies in Darfur.

That's like turning off a power switch for a life-support system of over 1 million people.

The current crisis is very specific, and very time-critical.

A little bit of international political will could mean that the "life support" gets "switched back on".

That's why everyone must put immediate pressure on the politicians of the world. Websites such as 1800GENOCIDE. com tell you how.

  • I hope the politicians see this.

  • wow how long are you going to do this for...?

  • Eh, cool, I guess... I think what would be more helpful is anyone that actually thinks the situation can be fixed with socialism should actually sell their possessions and do what they can themselves. Trying to force entire nations to take action by one more person starving isn't going to work.

Not trying to be cynical, just living in reality. 1 in 8 Americans are in need of food and we haven't taken care of that by giving them free aid either...

  • OH, or we could just reclassify the starving in this world as political activists. There, no more starving people, just people looking for attention. Problem "solved".

  • I am so sick of how ameircans have this phobia of communism and socialism, it makes me sick.

Can you stop talking about communsim already, we get it!!!!

  • I'd take communism or socialism over capitalism any day of the week.

Also, props on your hunger strike. Don't let the naysayers get to you!

  • You do what you can.

  • Your courage is wonderful. Be very careful not to do too much while your fasting. Your hunger pangs should go away by tomorrow. What you are doing is so important. Using fasting for this very important cause is commendable. I will call the white house thank you for reminding us this is still a huge issue!

  • i respect you so much for what you are doing.

i've been involved with the Save Darfur Campaign for a few years now and this is the first time that i've seen someone take this seriously.

i commend you for everything that you are doing. and wish i was strong enough to join you. but i will call the white house!!!

    shalom.

  • Now that is a really brave thing to do

  • I wish you all the best and luck in this plight.
