The music always makes me feel teary =') But it's a good kind of sad, you know? I feel so much nostalgia when watching this again and just can't believe it's been eleven years since it first came out!
When I watch this, I think of the first time I saw this scene in the theater with my daughter who was then just a little girl, like Herminone. Then I think of last summer, when we saw the epilogue and she was sitting there next to me again, now all grown up and beautiful, just like her mother.
i would never have guessed that 10 years later this song would mean so much to me. but it really has grown to define my childhood. now every time i hear it, i cry. end of an era.
This is one of the best endings to a movie in cinematic history. Some people might say it's sickeningly sentimental, but very few endings make me as happy as this one does. I'll admit that a lot of it is nostalgia, but this ending really captures what I love about Harry Potter, and I always feel myself getting teary-eyed watching this. While the first movie may not be perfect, I still consider it a classic. This is the kind of stuff that defines classics.
@ShazamWow1 Yeah, I'm actually considering asking the orchestra to play this for mine, when I get to be a Senior. It would make me cry a bunch though.
Omg This was the first movie i saw in the cinemas.. I was 4 so I was obviously excited seeing a screen so big and music so loud and everything and asking so much questions! I remember when I was 5 and when moaning myrtle showed up in the chamber of secrets I asked... Is that a girl harry? LOL I remember seeing each movie in the cinema and how I grew up with all of the films Im 14 now and I will never forget any of those moments. I will be buried with the last book in my hands like dumbledore :P
I remember when reading the end of Deathly Hallows, thinking this music would be perfect for that story's final scene. Needless to say, I was pleased to see that they somehow got my 'mental message.' :)
It's scary to think that I was 10 years old when I first saw this and now I'm 20. It meant so much that they used this theme at the end of Deathly Hallows Part II....it felt like closure to my childhood and teenage years.
One of the most memorable scenes in movie history, but I don't like how since Order of the Phoenix, they've changed the setting of Hogsmeade Station. They've put it right in the middle of the forest. I like this one better.
Thank you Chris Columbus for giving JK Rowlings book a faithful and proper treatment as an adaptation on the big screen, and thank you John Williams for the unforgettable score you came up with. Few moments makes me more nostalgic than this particular scene.
Does anybody remember the last Harry / Hagrid hug? It was right before Filch was brushing away the dirt from the battle & Ron & Hermione came in holding hands. I cant be the only one the shed a tear at that last hug.
I was only 3 when I saw this in theatres but I remember every moment... every stick I pretended was a wand, every blanket that I pretended turned me invisible, and every moment I realized Hogwarts is, and will always be in my heart no matter what may come.
I was five when this came out... I didn't understand shit of what was going on... then I started reading the books, and re-watching the movies, and I fucking changed.
@luisbets666 I was 4 years old when the first film came out but I think I was way TOO young for it, but later on, I think I saw this when I 6, than the 2nd film and so on..I just miss my childhood, don't you? ;)
