  • I have a major question, how do i get around the triangles?

max 2010 importing to mudbox to texture objects, and mudbox doesnt support triangles!!! it buggs up and you canot texture properly, wich is the only reason i import it into mudbox.. help?

  • @Icarcus hmm, never had that prob. tbh, triangles are a part of modeling and are always there, usually in corners of loops etc. My mudbox takes tris just like quads without problems.. You tried zbrush ?

  • @iwkya1

Which do you prefer? From artist to artist? Mudbox or Zbrush?

Personally, I think Zbrush blows mudbox out of the water. Like comparing Maya to Max. But that's just my opinion.

    What's yours?

By the way, I work on both: maya and max. Mudbox and Zbrush. So I have no bias.

  • @Domzdream I only use max for my work but have used maya a lot too, so I have no bias either. When it comes to the old max and maya debate, i tend to agree that both software can do the same stuff, some things much better than other. Ncloth for example humiliates max cloth, yet max has much better modelling tools. I put it down to personal preference and use both if needed. Because I only use sculpting tools for texturing, normals etc I tend to stay with mudbox as its simple and quick....

  • @iwkya1 although i do agree that zbrush is much more powerful and has some fabulous tools. Zspheres isnt bad either. :) Again preference.

  • well done, thanks.
