Heh, I didn't even know this was a song...I was looking for a classic Popeye comic strip where a pig got up and slowly walked away from Wimpy. :D Guess Segar swiped the joke, I'm pretty sure the comic strip was from after 1933, when this song was written.
Wonderful track, great to know someone else loves Frank Crumit, but yikes....the original 78 doesn't sound like it's underwater. The "noise reduction" software has been used to the max. Personally, I don't mind a little 78rpm surface noise if it keeps the recorded signal intact.
Great Stuff, isn't Crumit wonderful! And the Pig song appeals to my gutter sense of humor. (I play it to people messier that me and tell them I'm walking away.) To think we lost these recording for about 50--60 years when LPs came out, now they're all here or on the Internet Archive (there's lots of Crumit there). What's more, the other 78s I had as a kid in the 1960s are here too: The Gay Caballero and the Prune Song, haven't heard them until now for nearly 50 years.
Oh my gosh, I can't believe someone put this on You Tube--it's like my wildest dreams come true! My favorite Frank Crumit song (although he didn't write it). A thousand thank you's!!!
And the recording sounds so clear and crisp. Is the device in the video actually producing that great sound?! If so, what is it? Again thank you so much for this!
This is fantastic!! Great video. Thanks so much for posting this!

Many thanks for this. When I was a little boy my Uncle used to sing these on his ukelale (spelling!?) He was a super man and I still miss him.

@Kind67
Right, Crumit's master of the self-deprecating song, they're great fun.
(I'd not heard it for close on 50 years until here at YT.)
