  • Wat is the name of this beat?

  • ok, the girl on the right has rhythm

  • so energetic

  • lol look at the tall girl in the middle....

  • this is the worst

  • for those who want more can watch and see similarity.

put this code after you tube address

    watch?v=qq_bMiabtyE&feature=related

  • 4 all. African dance exist. This is African dance BANTU based but choreographically u can easily define what is this dance about. 4 me its harvesting dance as the ladies are picking crops cut down the plant, take shower and make love and later celebrate. The drum used are called Djembe the beats depend on the theme can be quick or slow. This guy is a good dance and the ladies you dance good. This not Indian beats at all it is African beats

  • For all you people saying this is African Dance i would just like to tell you all once and for all: THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS "AFRICA DANCE." If you look at a map you will see that africa is a CONTINENT made up of DIFFERENT COUNTRIES. WITHIN those countires are lots of DIFFERENT ETHENIC GROUPS who all have their own languages and DIFRFERENT DANCES. Thereofre there is no such thing as "African Dance". This sterotypical concept of "African Dance" is extremely insulting.

  • too repetitive

  • @blackwaltzko well I'm glad you didnt repeat yourself

  • This isn't African dancing but awesome beat!

  • @jiffs105

Some of you have so funny comments over here. 'This isn't African dancing'? So what is it? I guess you are an expert in 'African dance' . Can you tell us what African dance is? I am an African and in my country alone you will find at least a 100 different ways of dancing amongst the 279 ethnic groups represented. Now let me remind you that Africa is a continent with 53 countries. With that in mind do you still think you know all about African dance? Still need some proof?

  • Am an African and am seriously impressed with you guys. you really tried..keep it up guys.

  • instead of hating you guys neeeds to congratulate these women for there great performance and appreciate the fact that they took interest in the african culture. great job ladys!

  • I have been dancing african profissionally for twelve years. in fact i was born in liberia and i traveled all over africa before comng to te states so i know african dance when i see one. these lady are doing cultural african dance, they do this in the villages with costumes and everything. i can see these ladys are just begining but they did a good job. if you dance maybe you dont do this style maybe you dance cope. who knows there are alot of african dances out there.

  • May I ask where in Africa do they dance like this ?

  • it is true that a lot of people automatically believe that since someone comes from africa that they automatically know African dance...i have been dancing professionally for 10years now, and not one of those moves have i ever seen in my life...maybe its a new thing??? maybe he just came up with some wacked routine to get paid...(which is what im thinking) nobody knows for sure. BUT....just dont take this and pass it on...cuz it was fugly

  • its funny its african music yet i only see one african

  • WAT THE FUCK!?

  • that was really good :) i am learning African dancing and have a concert coming up soon, how did u mess up in that i didnt see anything?

  • This is not african dancing LOLOL the song has a beat of "Indian song"

    seriously .. ,,, ? ?

go & search up for some moves ...

that could help you all ..

  • @MIlkababexo

whatever. the teacher is from africa, his percussionists are from africa, the whole festival was full of people from africa.

it's just a simple beat to help us do some moves. and even though it IS african dancing, so what if it's not? we're just there to have fun.

  • @wlx yo teacher seriously need to learn moves before even he start teaching you guys moves.

  • @MIlkababexo you don't know anything about my teacher. this was the beginner's class.

  • @wlx just because hes from africa it doesnt mean he knows all the moves ....

&& no! i dont know anything about your teacher .... but am just saying.

  • @MIlkababexo i don't know what happened to your comment, can't find it.

but : you don't even see him dancing here, so on what do you base your opinion? On some moves he teaches us? I could tell you he studied dance in Africa. I could tell you he's been teaching african dance for 30 years. I could tell you all about him. But I won't, since you already seem to "know" everything.

  • @wlx I am not gonna talk about your teacher coz i seriously think this is not an african dance at all ...

  • @MIlkababexo no it IS african dancing. trust me, i would know. hehe.

  • @MIlkababexo i agree with you i am nigerian but i dont understand this dance what is this ............... and the tall girl was not doing good sorry

  • @Pinkcookielove100 yeah , me too (im congolese), i've never seen anything like that before (not that i know every traditional dances in africa, but still..)....

  • This is no african dancing...it makes me laugh really hard.

  • this nigga was just a bum off the street, he's polaying yall ladies, lol nigga probally never left the states yo, this is retarded, lol

  • @jmuckeroy yeah, 'cause we're from the states.. moron.

  • @wlx i love how you just keep telling everyone off. :)

  • @oOTheCrazyCanucksOo haha, sorry :p

  • need this for class project =)

  • I admire those who a new to dance and are brave enough to get up in front of a group. They may not yet be as skilled as those with more experience but that takes time. Please be kind. When you post a vid with other people in it making fun of them is just mean. Did everyone who danced here know you were going to post this publicly? They came to the dance class to learn and have fun not to be publicly put down.

  • i have one thing to say

Look at the tallest girl in the middle 4 the entire vid

    KML

  • I like it..you guys look like you were having fun and that's all that matters..I myself use to African dance back in the day..I love it and believe I will eventually get back into it to get in shape

  • Its has always amazed me at how african people are such good dancers.

  • bloody good mate! thanks for sharing

  • que padre bailan felicidadez

  • the chick in the middle is so fun, just like me

  • I trying to get back into african dancing myself. keep up the good work.

  • Very nice!!!!!

  • I keep thinking of Shakira's 'Waka Waka' Dancing ... :D

  • @lol8002 haha, awesome!

  • Do you happen to know the musicians, the type of music (or what region of Africa is the dance your doing), or where I could find such a rhythm? Thank you!

  • @lollypop959 the musicians are just friends of the teacher. they play the djembe. and they're from senegal.. that's all i can tell you..

  • Could you PLEASE tell me the name of this song, the genre, artist, or where I can find this music? Any information? I am choreographing a dance and this music is exactly what I am looking for! Thanks, this is highly appreciated!

  • @lollypop959 it's not a song. it's just a rythm they play..

  • o_o is anyone commenting about the video....???

  • lol at the tall chick

  • the really tall girl in the middle has the most horrible sense of rhythm.....she is to funny.

  • Fun! You are really good, and a lot of people commenting on here are ignorant. Africans, why would you not want people participating in this beautiful expression of soul? Even the tall girl, damnit let her dance! Dancing is about connecting to the earth, our natural internal rhythms, and coming together. You people with your negativity are the reason the world is still fragmented and depressed in many many ways. Come together, be positive, love! Jeeze!

  • @Laeyto thank you. and you are SO right. i hate how people comment on this video and tell me i'm not ALLOWED to dance this way or that i ruin their culture..? puh-lease.. :p

  • good job!! Keep up the good work :)

  • hey they put in very good effort and spirit into this. I love seeing things like this. Its beautiful. I'm from Nigeria and i think if the world was not messed up as it is, this would be seen as the ordinary thing and not anything special.

  • even lamer!

  • nuhh uhh

  • Honey i thought you rocked!!!!! u didnt mess up and you were justa moving!!!! keep dancing sweeti!!!! God Bless!!1

  • dis is BS r u guys tryin make fun of my afican dance.. BS

  • RIDICULOUS

  • LMAO look at the tall lady, shes funny hahahahaha

  • look at that tall azz gurl she kno she need to stop!!!!!!!!!LMFAO

  • am african and people who always trying to make this about colour shud honestly just get a life its 2010 , i love it,,,,,,,,but the tall girl in the middle killed me off lol nice one..........if its for fun or not or to learn or not or to make money .....enjoy yourself otherwise i know african who learn balroom dancing in london dammmmmmn they shud be in trouble lol lol

  • At least SOMEONE is taking interest in African culture. Those WHITE AMERICANS you speak so illy of, not ONLY bring food and shelter to the people in your country, but respect your culture enough to provide lessons on it, (As seen above.) There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with "white people" embracing "black people". If you have a problem with it, you are INDEED a racist. To even assume that all people in Africa can practice "African Dance" is definately prejudice.

  • @everythiiiiing yeah, thanks, except that i'm not american. :p

  • @wlx well I wasn't referring to you, just all the comments below of made by the ignorant pricks. :) BUT, if you don't consider yourself American, and you live in America, get the fuck out.

  • @everythiiiiing what the fucking hell?! i don't live in america. you know there's a world outside america too?! who's being ignorant now?!

  • surely if people believe in the out of africa theory then african dancing belongs to all of us

  • MUSIC AND DANCING HAS NO RACE, OR CULTURAL BORDERS. GROW UP, IF WE CAN'T COMMUNICATE UNIVERSALLY THROUGH THINGS THAT DON'T REQURE VOCAL EXPRESSIONS AND OPINIONS, LMITATIONS, RACIST REMARKS, PREJUDICES SUCH AS SUCH AS THESE, THEN WHAT THE HELL IS THE PURPOSE OF ANYTHING.....

  • @AnitaCMenotti hear hear

  • Wow great job,, I'm from Surinam, but i enjoyed watching you guys dance.. Great job.. def. continue... As long as you are have fun at it, learning something from it,, and not seeing it as something that must be done,, keep going.. Really.. Great job, from amsterdam.

  • wow.. people stop being so racist. and no ones steling anyones culture, there just experiencing a new thing! people need to relax about this stuff, and just because your white doesnt mean your automatically bad at dancing..

  • That looked like so much fun. African people have natural dancing talent, but you guys were pretty good. They are not ruining African culture they are just enjoying it! I think I'll take some African dance lessons. I love African culture, it's so beautiful and vibrant!

  • I'm Irish and people been stealing our culture..ahem let's not mention americans..forever and I guess you just got to look at it as flattery :-) By the way...awesome job girls!

  • Good job girls!

  • wow the tall gawky brunette in the middle was terrible lol but the people in the front were ok.

  • i thought they'd suck but they are actually good. all those white people. no racism

  • wonderful performance.

  • i thought u guys did a great job and im black and have taken many african dance classes.

  • haha die houte klaas in het midden met dat blauwe rokje aan!

  • Hey I am African and damn they at least are showing an intrest in our culture...stop hating and lets all get together and have fun........ you guys did a good job.

  • @Theambasaman finally! thank you. i'm so sick of people being so selfish about your beautiful culture. it's just us having some fun!

  • @Theambasaman I so agree

  • @Theambasaman bless you!

  • good effort but no re thyme

  • looks hot! gogo belgië! die grote int midden kan er nieveel van :p

  • looks hot! gogo belgië! die grote int midden kan er nieveel van :p

  • looks hot! gogo belgië! die grote int midden kan er nieveel van :p

  • Anything for a dollar.................

  • this made me cry. I love our culture way too much to see you murder it . Apparently we can't have anything.

  • @Mickii07 god, what's up with everyone?! don't be so selfish. we love the african dance. so what if we're not as good as africans? isn't that normal?!

it's an effort and we have fun doing it, grow up.

  • @wlx one question, where the black girls at?

  • i didnt see u mess up

  • nice

  • that tall girl in the middle looked like she was lost

  • Not to be racist or anything but the whiteys cant African dance that good :| it just doesn't look right lol

  • Didn't see any messing up. but the girl in front with the green/orange wrap. Damn, can she dance! Wish I could move like that

  • do u think that if i practic this dance day and night i would for 10 days i would do it like u. wait i cant do it if i practiced 100 years like u :D ur great. for the record my real name is sarah and i am looking forward to talk to u more.

    and as an African dancer.

Whomever taught you this dance screwed you terribly.

  • @MsUgochi right........ it's just a frekaing course. don't take it so personal. chill. jesus..

  • @MsUgochi reverse racism awesome....these people are having fun and paying tribute to another culture...sometimes its not about your skin color...relax...not everyone is racist

  • @MsUgochi you must be deaf because....huh......i heard a beat.

  • lol the tall in the midle

  • you were really good, but that tall girl in the middle has no coordination at all! lol

  • You were really the good...but the tall girl in the middle...

  • what is the name of african song you all are dancing to?

  • it's not a song, it's just live percussion. it's the same beat over and over again.

  • @wlx no offense but i aint never seen white girls and an asian doing african dances- kool job tho - wat was 2:22-2:29

    ? a show of fustration?lol

  • omg thanks i need some of those moves

  • Love this!

  • thanks so much :) finally found some african dance moves I can use for my dance class at school. We need at least one move and my group is doing a grocery store dance that fits in with our pedestrian dance unit. The hand movements definitely look like stocking groceries on a shelf. Thanks again :)

  • This is why Africans, no matter how poor they are, remain very happy people. It is that African drum, the music and the dance. African-Americans inherited all of that and westernized it which is why they tend to be very spiritual. Africans are very spiritual (not religious) and this keeps them going.

  • wooo..* cool

  • they was wkd im doing the same dance.... xxxx

  • that was awesome!! I recently started teaching Zumba so I'm always looking for cool new moves!!! I LOVE African dance, I wish it were offered where I live!

  • This is soooooo cool! I love it!! is it from some kind of dance convention?

  • no, it was just a show.

different teachers came to perform with their students.

it was to collect money for schools in senegal.

  • who says nothing gud comes out of africa- i'm so proud of my heritage- and there's even more!

  • well done but i have to say as well the girl at the end is going hard:)

  • the white girl all the way on the right is pretty good

  • this is amazing

  • i was just about to say nice...but hmnnn...the one at center...yes, the tall one, whatsssup?

  • simple steps, mediocre performance

  • lol this is toooooooo funny

  • a hot mess looks like they temp to do african dancing bt just couldnt get it

  • cool

  • that is dammmm cool.

earthy man, violent and slightly sexual.... the hip wiggle looks hard.

  • I didn't see you mess up. That's cool your teacher is from senegal. I'm studying that area in my french class.

  • It would probably look more authentic if they wore native costume.

  • I wish white people would respect culture. It is ok to want to do African dance but many of them are doing this for profit & not just to experience the culture, i.e. by having groups like the above that are all white. You don't see other ethic groups like black people, chinese, etc. having their own river dance group or bag pipe players. It's nice to want to experience other cultures but imitation is not always a form of flattery..They look like a hot mess!!

  • I agree. And to the poster above you who mentioned "native" clothing. Seriously? These moves are not that difficult, and this is not being danced with respect and appreciation.

  • @vixenmrb I don't think you should generalize Caucasian people like that. I take belly dancing, which is a Middle Eastern dance. I don't do it for the profit or any other reason beside the facts that a) I love it, and b) I love the history behind it, the stories you can tell by dancing. I'm not being rude - I just wanted to make a point to say that Caucasian people aren't as ignorant of cultures as you perceive us to be.

  • ok, that tall chick needs to be whooped real bad LOL!

  • Whatever people manages to get in touch with their jungle self, is by all means expressing what dancing is. I like this group. It makes no difference whether it is an African dance or not. After all, Africa does not hold a monopoly on jungles or the ability to get in touch with one's skin, whether it is colored or discolored. It's all good.

  • Good job people. However which country in Africa dances like this?

Am african and I can tell you with 100% confidence NO African country dances like this.

  • Comment removed

  • Well black family we got a sell out

  • You are really good! You didn't even make a mistake, well done! In Year 5, I fell down but I've shook that embarrassment off!

  • lol you didnt mess up at all

  • you look great...the tall girl in the center is another story!

  • haha the tall girl looks like a friggin tool.

  • oops my bad lol, when i was done typing it i kind of thought about the american part but couldnt be bothered to change it lol.

  • really good for americans lol this was done quite well.

  • That was really good, I dont see where u messed up.

  • how can i get the music of this dance ?

  • the one in the front row with you that was closest to the camera was awesome!! so were you.

  • Thank you for sharing this dance. I will be teaching it to my class of elementary school students for an international festival. The moves are authentc, and yet simple. Love it!!

  • WTF? WHHHHHYYYY???? lol ... It's nice to see black culture tearing down barriers and all... But no amount of practice or African material wrapped around your waste is going to express the soul and passion behind African dancing... Black women are Queens, Divas, and Goddesses. OFTEN IMITATED BUT NEVER DUPLICATED!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The girl in the yellow and green is doing her thing and it's great to see everyone jamming and having a good time.

  • Shit what was wrong with the one with brown hair she looked crazy dayum no worries though i think se tried her best

  • hahaha its very nice but the girl with the long brwon hair she makes me LOL

  • This is not African dance. This is a crack-head dance!
