I think that this is a great documentary. The messages and stories told in this film are really useful for people who are just beginning to see the many systemic aspects of how racism operates in our society today. As much as people hate to hear it, all races are intrinsically racist by nature. Humans evolved over thousands of years in vastly different environments, natural selection ensuring those best suited to survive in that particular region (and relevant social structure) survived and passed on their genes to the next generation. It is only natural for people to be wary and distrustful of people who are of a different 'tribe' to them. Wishing away the concept of race does not make it so.

While capitalism improved upon its precedents, it has also become the main tool by which those in power remain in power; and as of 300 years ago, those are none other than white folks, hence present day inequity. So-called "color blind" philosophy is blind, it only maintains the white-power status quo. Present day inequity must be mitigated somehow. Affirmative action has its problems. I'm uncomfortable with "the sins of the fathers" as a fair approach. But I struggle to see a better solution.

Also, according to the U.S. Census Bureau Middle Easterners are considered white in our society and they see themselves as white. Also, Asians and Middle Easterners haven't dealt with the racism and discrimination that black people (and Native Americans) have dealt with. Their encounters with white people were far different then ours. Their history with white people is far different than ours..

Eastern Europe is not plagued by anarchy and is not poor. They are recovering from 50+ years of communism that believed everyone was equal. They are not killing each other, raping women, or bombing their streets. You can buy goods and don't need to shit in a river you drink from. Portugal, Spain, and Italy are white nations. Brazil is not doing great, it has one of the largest murder rates on the planet and is plagued by poverty (except the white areas). Our kids grow up with fathers.

No, Eastern Europe is NOT poor. It is not as rich as western europe and north america, which are filthy rich. However, just because a country is not an economic superpower does not mean it is poor. Poor is all of Africa, most of Asia, and South America (minus the white run areas). Look up GDP and HDI ratings. Mediterranean people are white, but are plagued with dark moors that live in poor areas (sicily for ex). If you are so convinced China and India are so well off then go live there.

As much as people hate to hear it, all races are intrinsically racist by nature. Humans evolved over thousands of years in vastly different environments, natural selection ensuring those best suited to survive in that particular region (and relevant social structure) survived and passed on their genes to the next generation. It is only natural for people to be wary and distrustful of people who are of a different 'tribe' to them. Wishing away the concept of race does not make it so.

So-called "color blind" philosophy is blind, it only maintains the white-power status quo. Present day inequity must be mitigated somehow. Affirmative action has its problems. I'm uncomfortable with "the sins of the fathers" as a fair approach. But I struggle to see a better solution.

To the guy below. It would be great if everyone could be treated like white people. But with great power comes responsibility. To be treated like priveledged white people you need to act like them. That's like a person that is born rich but willingly gives up some of his wealth. How many people would do that. The world has shifted from white v. non-white to black v. non-black. Many people, who wouldn't have been considered white 50 years ago are now seen as white. Asians are labeled "honorary whites" Blacks continue to be the lone ranger.

Also, according to the U.S. Census Bureau Middle Easterners are considered white in our society and they see themselves as white. Also, Asians and Middle Easterners haven't dealt with the racism and discrimination that black people (and Native Americans) have dealt with. Their encounters with white people were far different then ours. Their history with white people is far different than ours..

Eastern Europe is not plagued by anarchy and is not poor. They are recovering from 50+ years of communism that believed everyone was equal. They are not killing each other, raping women, or bombing their streets. You can buy goods and don't need to shit in a river you drink from. Portugal, Spain, and Italy are white nations. Brazil is not doing great, it has one of the largest murder rates on the planet and is plagued by poverty (except the white areas). Our kids grow up with fathers.

No, Eastern Europe is NOT poor. It is not as rich as western europe and north america, which are filthy rich. However, just because a country is not an economic superpower does not mean it is poor. Poor is all of Africa, most of Asia, and South America (minus the white run areas). Look up GDP and HDI ratings. Mediterranean people are white, but are plagued with dark moors that live in poor areas (sicily for ex). If you are so convinced China and India are so well off then go live there.
