this is the fastest run using the same stage twice from each driver. where SS14 and SS16 were in the same direction, and same route, a rare advantage to pole position was presented, but still Hirvonen, missing a bonnet, hammered everyone.
1 billionth of a second after the finish gate is a waste of time, whereas the absolute maximum, say 1 minute, before the start shows the crucial tension needed at its maximum
Wow! Quite incredible! What a difference from the performance on SS14! On time-sheets this drive by Mikoko wasn't so overwhelmingly better than that of Sordo and Petter, but I think that this is explicable by the rivalry between the two urging them on. I believe, however, that this must have been a significantly faster and _safer_ run than that Mikko had two stages earlier. He's still throwing the car quite madly, but this time you can see the method to the madness :)
... He's neither correcting the entries to corners nor fishtailing out of them as he did in SS14. I would sometimes rub my eyes in wonderment, asking myself how the precise Mikko transformed into something of a Henning Solberg for this rally.
I guess the answer the riddle is simple: the pressure. Once Mikko knew there was no use in killing himself, he could just drive his best.
It's sad that this overdriving probably led to the ruin on stage 15...
it was an exiting season cheers to Loeb wow he is really great and Hirvonen made quiet a great fight can't wait for the 2010 season thanks for the onboards mate
I really hope that the damage could be repaired... I didn't see this effect in any day review's onboards so I'm hoping the WRC media guys can do some magic to the footage. Ofcourse if the damage is on the original recording, then it's nearly impossible...
Unless you're a Finn sound does not make any sense anyway, unless you're looking for engine whines. So in order to avoid this chaotic mix of finnish pacenotes, Focus gearbox and gravel hitting car floor just mute video, put on some music and enjoy teh drive. :)
I cheer for loeb but I have to give a round of applause to mikko, petter, dani, and all of the other guys for a sensational, downright gritty rally. The entire time loeb and mikko were neck and neck and I couldnt believe it when mikko started to come back from being down 30 seconds.mikko pushed hard to the end even though that was all she wrote by stage 15.cant wait for the 2010 season.
