  • My dog does same thing but tears round the room, completely unstoppable and often breaking things.

  • you know if a dog does that it means there bored give her a chewwie!

  • mine does the same thing too... (: She always makes me laugh (:

  • my border collie roxie does the same thing it is soooo hilarious

  • XD just like mine!

  • did you take him to s shelter yet? lol

  • I tried doing this, but kept slipping and falling off the bed...

  • that is quite funny but to be honest, go take him for a long walk.

  • he needs a job

  • that dog needs a nice long run

  • i think, they aren't supposed to be indoors.

  • He's just having fun and a few mental minutes. If he wasn't getting enough exercise, or more importantly mental stimulation then he'd be tearing it apart not jumping on it! No matter how tired our BC is, if there's a chance to be mental he'll take it. Just a nice video of a collie being a collie.

  • He's Breakdancing lol

  • to all these people saying this border collie doesnt get enough excercise is most probably not true. i live on a 25 acre farm with my 2 year old border collie bitch. she's outside 8-9 hours a day sometimes more and she still has funny moments like that.

  • he divided by 0

  • When my border collie was a pup, he's 63 in dog years atm but he would go mental and run up the stairs and sprint it along the top of the settee at slightest hearing of a chicken noise lol.

  • Unfortunately there's no way around the fact you have to give these kinds of dogs your attention. Play games, teach them to do things. They are highly intelligent and trainable, they WANT to work for you. So spend time teaching your dog something that will help you. Then be ready to let them do things for you every day, as much as possible each day. Also, try to take them to a place they can tun around for a while, instead of or in addition to walks - they need to run.

  • He aint mad .... he's just playing / fooling arround :s

  • She is bored as hell lol. Play fetch, run, or do something with her. Border collies are good dogs to help you get in shape.. =P

  • LOL, ADHD doggie :P

  • I absolutely love the way people are just dying to give advice when no one asks them for it.. people, your not as smart as you think you are !!

  • My dog does this all the time and she's a terrier :L seriously guys, give the owner/s a rest, if the dog was going to go mental it would be ripping every thing up. I don't see how you cannjudge how much exercise this dog gets by looking at a 26 second video :P Beautiful Dog BRW -3

  • YOU NEED TO TAKE HER FOR BIG RUNS IN THE PARK. SHE IS ON BOREDOM OVERLOAD.

  • Why do people have to make nasty uneducated comments? All BC's do this it's a way of having fun and enjoying themselves whilst using up some energy. Even if they are at work all day they will do this at times. This is obviously a well treated fun lovin dog..

  • @catscout111 I totally agree. :)

  • I have a border collie who does this when we are playing with him, he gets 2+ hours of running, frisbee and training to always keep his mind going. This is just play. All i have to do is yell "Cabe-bebe!!" (Pet name for Caleb) and he starts going arround in circles because he knows im playing. This border collie is obviously in good health, well loved and just having what i call a "happy moment". Stop burning people who put up wonderful videos of their pets! You have NO idea about their lives.

  • Love all the armchair dog experts parroting what they see on animal planet.

  • he's like a cat.

  • hes just playing... freak out people?

  • someone hasn't picked the right dog breed...perhaps a nice little shih tzu would be better for your needs? This breed thrives of excerse and work. it was bred to bed a working dog. this is what happens. even 2 hours is not enough. 2 hours wouldnt tire out a labrador. a collie needs around 3-4 hours of walking/running/jogging as well as playing on top of that for a couple of hours and at least 2 hours of mental training.

  • @XaphanTheSoulHacker I would like to correct you and every other fake YouTube Border expert that is berating this dog owner. If you knew more about the breed you would know that the working lines are biddable, hard working dogs with an off button. It is actually the non-working lines, bred for Flyball and Agility, that are more hyped up all the time. Maybe you shouldn't judge people on a 26 second sample of their lives? This dog is having a blast and is clearly loved by its owner. Douche Bag :)

  • @TheNarzilla i have 3 border collies, i think i know what they need.

  • @XaphanTheSoulHacker Yes I also have 3 border collies so you are not the lone expert on border collies. I even have videos to back that claim up. I have been doing agility and obedience with my borders for the past 10 years and they help out daily with herding goats. So I think I KNOW what they need and what they do for fun. This dog (quite possibly still a puppy because she is rather slender with shorter hair) has her tail wagging and ears up. She is just being a goof ball. END OF STORY!

  • @XaphanTheSoulHacker I have a border and he is perfectly fine with the live he leads! Getting 2 hours of excersize is enough to have him snoring on the couch for hours! Hes more of a couch potato than anything and my dog is PERFECTLY healthy and happy! This dog seem happy and fine! They are not beating her and they obviously love her a geat deal! If that was the case then i would worry but obviously shes happyand having fun! And its poeple like you that wreck these perfectly innocent videos.

  • @leskene13 i have 3 border collies, i think i know what they need.

  • I heard this is called Shadow Chasing :S

They can get obsessed with the floor if it gets bad and become fixated with it x_x

We went to a Dog Rescue and the person who was looking after a Border Collie was telling us that they need mental stimulation and physical stimulation or they go bonkers o_o

  • LMFAO HAHA SO ADORABLE

  • BRING THE DOGGY OUTSIDE AND LET HIM RUN/WALK WHATEVER! JUST PUT HIM OUTSIDE JESUS!!!!1 HE'LL GO MENTAL FOR SERIOUS IF YOU CONTINUE LIKE THIS!!!

  • ADHD! lol

  • very cute :)

my dogs do that as well.

  • We have a border collie now, who is also part german sheppard, he is so smart and knows everything. But doesnt have the random energy sperts of a border collie. Our old one was insain, we had 35 accers for him, go cart to chase, andimals to heard, and he was still crazy. we gave him to a border collie rescue agency, and they said he was schitzophrenic, so that would explain it. haha. These dong are so smart though. you can teach them anything.

  • OMG Sportywolf, helkat and johnny have no clue. My working dog does it all the time. Its a daft half hour. We all have one; man or beast. Its a surge of energy. Wish it happened to me more often. lol.

  • Migdany: Yeah Roxy jumps over the bed then under the bed then over the bed and so on lol and barks at her self she loves it.

  • lol typical border collie - mad!!!!!! ppl saying their bored - no they arent they are "always on" working dogs! great vid cheers from islay

  • oh my dog does that when she gets really excited and wants to play. and my mum's dogs do it with one another chasing each other jumping on the bed so excited. with mine i either let her have her 5 mins - or 10 cos the more i laugh the more she does it cos she goes all happy i'm happy lol - once i took her to the field next door and she went mental there rolling in the long grass it was hilarious!

  • I have a Collie named Roxy, i can be walking her all day come home and in an hour she does things like that, shes not bored its just the breed lol they make their own games up.

  • @louise5296 I agree, My Border Collie does that too, no matter how much exercise he gets. Some trainers call it "Zoomies", mine starts running all around the living room.

  • my dog used to do this when he was younger, especially when he was tired, he went hyper, unfortunately one of our cats would be sleeping on the bed too and got disturbed.

  • my dog does that! he like will do circles around the house and when he is on the bed he does that to wake you upp then barkes in your ear

  • I just wish all the so called experts on these bc videos would chill out.

A dog plays a game and suddenly it's owner is being cruel by not exercising it enough. Mines gets lots of exercise but still loves to play silly games. The dog in the video's having great fun.

  • @nacho1560 I thinks these "experts" never owned or lived with a bc.

It seems that our dogs all love the bounce of our beds.

Mine does that, rolls around, kicks the bejezus out of me and burries her face in the pillows EVERY morning when I'm sitting on the bed putting socks on.

She also gets 2 or 3 1/2 hour frisbee sessions every day, walks and the dog park, You can power a small town with a bc's energy and enthusiasm . Even when they are tired they are still up for fun.

  • @SurleyBlaine Spot on. :) The experts make you smile eh?:)

  • @chizzywoo They sure do. If it wasn't for the stupid people, how would we know that we are smart?

Experts. lmao. Always bringing a spoon to a gun fight.

  • My border collie takes these mad moods every now and again, goes rampaging about the room in a circle, nudges me, then goes off on another spiral. Don't think it's any lack of exercise, just a game some of them like to play.

  • my grandma's dog does that when he's excited XD

  • Excellent! Border collies aren't "dogs". They are far more intelligent, and need a special species section all of their own! I love them, and no amount of excercise and play will deter a border collie from having a nutty half hour... it's in their genes. They are perfect. :D

  • my dog has her random five, usually before bed, its not that they are boreed or unexcercised, its the same reason we get good moods for nothing ^^

  • how cuuute

  • is mad because it is bored, you have the best dog in the world and you dont know how train it !! what a shame, it has special skills and you need to explore them. And is a dog with much energy, it get a daily walk ???? at least????

  • Border collies are worker dogs, always have been. Give it something that flexes it's mental and physical muscles. It will make your dog MUCH happier

  • 26 seconds of life people!

  • hehe my collie charlie sometimes does victory laps around the house if she gets excited, she really loves people so whenever someone comes round unless she's been for a run in the last hour or so she quite often tears around the house like a rocket, quite a handful :)

  • haha border collies are carzy, but I still LOVE mine!!!

  • looks like this dog needs a walk, he does this couse he is in need of exercise, they are originally sheep dogs

  • My BC does this, too. Time to play!

  • GIVE THIS DOG A JOB TO DO!!! before she went crazy!!! border collies are not pets!!! they are working dogs!!! if you don't let her outside to burn all these energy that overfills her, she will not only behave weird, she will tear your bed apart too!!!

  • yeah from research you gotta walk her or take her to a park, otherwise they can develope very werid behavers like stirring at the floor.

  • Reminds me of my mum's friend's dog... he never sits still!

  • What's a border collie doing having an elkhound moment?

  • Whippets do it too. xD

  • Mine does that too when he gets excited. He'll jump around on a bed to get us to play with him.

Crazy pooch can't stand not being the centre of attention! :)

  • Sorry, Bendorset, my comment should have said, 'she.' I love your dog...looks very healthy and normal to me. And HAPPY.

  • The dog is simply 'Happy!' I have a Border Collie, one year old...HE makes up his own games...this dog has made up his own game...he's playing 'Bed." (I name the games my dog makes up)

  • probely makes up his own games coz hes so borded!!

  • lol its just a bit hyper it doesnt mean it needs a walk, iv got a border collie and sometimes she just gets hyper and bolts up and down our backyard for about 5 minutes

  • who's silly cunt that keeps giving all the sensible comments a thumbs down?? Obviously someone that likes to watch dogs go mental

  • my Yorkshire terrier is doing the same when he had a bath or when we come out of the rain xD

  • daaah my JR does that excatly the same LOL

  • This does not necessarily mean that the dog needs to go for a walk.I've got a collie x labrador who has 3 walks a day.She does this when she is excited or when it's her 'funny 5 minutes'.

  • Haha, she's got the zoomies! I love it when my bc does this. She does it when she is really excited about something. Too cute!

  • think some one needs a walk. don't listen to everyone sometimes collies can be quite energetic . it doesn't just mean that you are neglecting to exercise.

  • @roryralph1414 Obviously you don't own a border collie or perhaps don't even know anything about dogs in general. This dog isn't distressed and is having a fun time.

  • @roryralph1414 Obv you know next to little about dogs. When their tail is wagging, they are having fun. Guess what? THE TAIL IS WAGGING YOU IDIOT

  • It depends on how the tail is waggin. But this dog was having fun yes.

A dog wagging its tail could also be nervous.

  • My border called Sam does this! We call it Roobarbing because of the cartoon Roobarb and Custard where the dog races around like a loony!!!

  • SO FUNNY!!

  • ahahah

  • my border collie does the same thing! its so hilarious. just like with dkw12002, when she gets excited and energized she goes nuts! i love it lol

  • tbh this border collie is bored and need mental stymulation :/

  • yeah, you can tell it hasn't been taken for a walk in a while and needs some activity because it's going a bit mad. Border collie's are prone to do that

  • @helkat11 Oh our Border gets ton of stimulation, still he has those fits... especialy in the morning lol! It's nothing to worrie about. Besides, what do we know about this border after seeing 26 seconds of his life?

  • @helkat11 my border collie is outside all day he has at least 2 walks a day (1 hour and 2 hours) and we train agility and learn tricks he also goes with me to see my horse and runs with him BUT he still does this...

  • @helkat11 how could you possible gauge that from such s shot VT!?

  • id laugh if he fell off the bed XD

  • My BC does exactly the same thing when I get her riled up by pretending to attack her. She jumps on me too along with exactly what your dog is doing. It is energetic playing.

  • that dog is bored and needs its legs and mind ran.

  • LOL.....Shelties do this too.....we call it "zoomies".

  • ok.....

  • reminds me of myself when i was bored when i was younger...hah! :D

  • He was just drifting

  • These dogs want to work all the time, and if you don't give them tons of work they have little fits of energy like the one you show in the video. Even if you take them on lots of walks, it's not enough to them, they need to do lots of work or else they feel pent up.

  • @johnny07652

Working dogs, Border Collies especially, have to learn the difference between work ("on") and rest ("off"). If left to themselves, if overstimulated or "over"trained, the get all hyped up. I don't think the solution is to let them do a maximum of work. But to teach the dog, beginning with the puppy, that there is a time for work and a time to be calm. (I don't have BCs, but working line Siberian Huskies, where we have the same issue)

  • @johnny07652 They need to get TIRED of it, simply put.

  • @johnny07652 so if walks arent enough wat else would you suggest? my BC really needs some more work cos shes always causing havoc

  • @ellul92 I have a border collie and every day before and after work I spend about 15-20 minutes having her fetch. (get a chuck it to make this easier for you). When we play fetch, I also have her stay till I release her so she is stimulated mentally as well as physically. Also, for days that I am sick, or just don't have the time to spend with her, I have some busy buddy toys. They stimulate her mentally. I haven't had any problems with her thus far...

  • @ellul92 I play fetch (with a chuck it) befor and after work with my BC. I also have some mentally stimulating toys such as busy buddy toys to keep her mentally working when I can't play with her.

  • @ellul92 - See if they like TV. I throw on Animal Planet for my BC and he does great. He is extremely obedient and has never once in his 5 years shown aggression to anybody or torn anything up since he was 4months. I live in an apartment so anyone with a little land would do awesome.

  • @AtlRacerBoyz Good one! i'll try that out. I started taking her running everyday, theres this field close by and i can let her off the lead for a while. Its really amazing how well border collies do when off the lead, she loves exploring but will make sure to stay near me, she doesnt run away and always comes when i call her. All i need now is some sheep for her to herd because she's trying to herd cars atm :/ haha

  • i love this dog i thought i was only one who could see and attack the invisible ninja >:D

  • haha my collie duz exactly the same but concentrates on stalking and then attacking the coffee table in the middle of the room she will run behing the settee and behind the curtians really fast and even tually bark at the table. haha nice vid

  • My 16 week old BC does this sort of thing a lot! I read that they have these mad outbreaks because they're so intelligent, it drives them nuts! =)

  • lol thats cute

  • my border collie does that sometimes when she gets onto the double bed

  • Border Collies are cute!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • watching this videos makes me remember my border collie/ ausstrallian shepard mix, she used to do the same thing, running around in circles all around the house . We used to call it the "zooms" :)

  • My border collie pup did that anytime she was really happy -- like if I mentioned either "walk" or "dinner."

My little girl has grown out of it somewhat, though from what I understand, BCs have these moments periodically throughout their whole life, which is good because it's super cute!

  • i´ve got a border collie called roxy too.shes nine months and bundles of energy! no one can say that this video is actually due to her not having enough energy, because my dog gets a good few walks every day and still has these mad spells, and your dog seems like a pretty happy healthy dog to me! and yeah, border collies are high energy dogs, but as long as they get about two hours exercise they should be fine! (: xx

  • one of collies like doing that too, and running up n down the stairs like mad dog thou without barking lol. Who said those dogs doing that cos not enough exercise? I walk my dogs (both collies named jake n jessie) everyday at da dogs park play fetch for an hour or so, so they can make friends with other dogs. But still back home after a bit of rest they start jumping up and licking wall n floor like crazy...

  • I agree with MTJessie. It's just normal collie behaviour!

  • While its true Border Collies are high energy and do need exercise/stimulation. This is pretty typical of a border collie just having fun. None of you are in a position to judge how much exercise this dog gets.

    Gorgeous Dog =)

  • come on BEN walk that dog!

  • This is the result of not enough exercise. Read about it, Border Collie's are extremely high energy dogs.

  • haha i have a border collie named roxy too shes a little wacky herself esp in the mornings!

  • my border collie used to do that when he was younger not very funny when he did it very early in the mornings just very hyper

  • this is the odellfills and EKmoves give me a call 801/824/1570 ask 4 [ERICODELL]

  • i think he is bored. does he get atleast 30 min walk a day?

  • just for your info he is a she a she probably gets about 2 hours excersice a day just mad for it

  • sorry just wondering. SHEE is soo cute

    :]

  • @bendorset i have a female bc as well, i probably run with her for about 2-3 hours a day then play fetch and teach her tricks for 2 hours a day. and even then its still not enough. they are amazing animals to have such stamina and energy.

  • lol thats cute

  • HAHAHA CUTE!
