Mass Effect probably is better. For the most part, I'm only going to beat FF13 because I like the sceneries and music. The story was lame, and half of it barely makes sense. Sometimes it feels like forever before you actually get past one conversation. The only character that was done well at all was Lightning. I don't have any complaints about the battle system, other than the almost useless Sentinel role. It's like watching a 100 hour movie with bad acting and a weird story.

Mass Effect isn't just about stories but the consequences of the actions you choose.

i've always regretted not being able to save old Characters like Rex but it's part of the story you create on your own and that was ME's greatest concept in an role playing game.

FF on the other hand is a set story of which is still good. campy but good. of which very few if not many can appreciate.
