The countries that have socialized medicine were not models for the health care plan that Hillary proposed, nor are they the models for the plan that Obama has proposed. People, do me a favor, and do some fucking research before you go spouting off bullshit that is based on preconceived notions and not in fact. Obama and Hillary both have proposed plans that involve tax credits and cost transparency, as well as access to the insurance plans that members of Congress have.
You are telling others to be civil when you are not yourself.
Yes, people should be encouraged to do research. It doesn't help anything with Obama's czars. No one knows what to think. Do you agree with them, that rationing will happen and the gov't will decide who will live and who will die.
Rationing ALREADY HAPPENS . Right now, INSURANCE COMPANIES ration care, and decide who lives or dies in order to MAKE A PROFIT. They deny coverage for necessary procedures, deny insurance coverage completely, and rescind policies -- all examples of rationing -- in order to pad their bottom lines. A government-run, public-option would have to ration care as well; the difference would be, it would be based on covering the most people, and not making a profit, which no knows no moral boundaries.
Just because you have healthcare doesn't mean they have to serve you. Watch the movie Sicko and see what happens to some Americans who HAVE health insurance. That's funny because the system works in other countries. We have enough money to start needless wars but not to take care of our citizens? Switzerland does. Germany does. Canada does. Japan does. Britain does. This is classic Fox spin-doctoring.
Hillary will just continue to smile and never answer the big question: How much will your plan cost each of us? Hillary, why is it you avoid this enormous question? We are not stupid, we know universal health care is not free, nothing is. We all know we are going to pay for it. How much?
The rhetoric of choice is empty when consumers don't have any bargaining power. Insurance companies don't compete on price, they compete by denying service. Rather than mandate that people buy insurance, mandate that insurance companies pay out 96% of the premiums they receive. Currently, health insurance companies pocket or waste nearly 30% of every dollar that consumers send them for care.
How is MANDATED health care a better health care policy? If I make $30,000 and am in generally good health, shouldn't it be up to me to take the risk of not having insurance? Especially when I can use that money to better provide for my family, my children. MANDATED health care has insurance companies drooling at the incredible profits they will make at the citizens' expense.
Oh no, you mean they will continue to benefit from this plan as much or more than they already do?
Also Bush said nothing, his estimated price tag for the war has doubled or tripled, perhaps someone can mention the current cost and his moronic estimates from before.
No you little Republican "socialized medicine fanatic", even Canada pays for their thru taxes... Shut-up pay attention and listen...this is a big political battle and this time...YOU LOSE! American's are tired of suffering at your "Don't Do It" attitude towards Universal Healthcare! There is a tax credit and it's income based and you don't have to do it...keep what you've got if you don't want it! WE DO!
