  • 6:38 You are a beautiful girl. I'm glad you over came your health issues.

  • You go girl!!!!! I'm 222 and struggling to lose but I really don't diet. My gaol is to be 145 in Sept. 2012. I turn 45 so I figure this would be a good gaol to set. You look great.

  • I am having my surgery in the morning 7/25/11 and I seen this : ) I hope I can do as well as you! I see that there is so much support of youtube! hope all is going good for you and your weight loss, thanks for posting your journey, Hugs

  • Your voice is great. Did you do speech therapy or did the hormones do it?

  • @chzwiz007 I am a woman, born that way. My voice is natural. My posts are all about weight loss surgery. When you go through very rapid weight loss it affects your hormones because fat cells hold on to estrogen. When you loose those levels rapidly you can have very unpleasant symptoms, like someone going through menopause, which is why under my surgeon's recommendations I was doing HRT. I think some of my videos might mistakenly be cross posted somewhere because of the tags for post-op and HRT.

  • I am blown away! You went from someone I wouldn't do a double glance toward, to a HOT fine woman I might turn and stare at... and if I had a few in me to get my courage up --- if we were at a bar, I would seriously hot on you!!! WOWOWOWOW

  • I am going in on May 27 to decide which surgery to have, sleeve, gastri, or lapband.

Which one did you have? I had one friend who did the sleeve and she didn't lose any where near what she wanted...any thoughts would be helpful!

  • Thanks for sharing. I am impressed by the amount of weightloss. I am a male, living in Denmark and fighting a starting weight-gain. 302 lbs in January 2009 looks scary - I really feel fear when I see that picture :) Love and all/Donald

  • Hi Fresh - Thanks for your kind words I'll need them.

    Don

  • @donal468 You are very welcome. :)

  • Thanks for your honesty - Gastric Band procedure scheduled for 28 April 11. Although worried about the operation I am more determined to get it done thanks to listening to your story.

    Regards

    Don

  • @donal468 You are very welcome! The very best of luck to you on your upcoming surgery and the journey ahead! :)

  • Thanks for posting this.. Im 8 weeks post-op.

You often see the before and after ,but what they dont always tell is what happens in between... The ups and down.. Keep up the great work. You look stunning

  • @hannamia85 Thanks so much, your comment is definitely appreciated! :)

  • @bkmansour Thanks! I just started doing the P90X program so I do it everyday. I have had to up my protein and carbs a bit to compensate for the change in activity. I eat quite a bit now, but that is because the bypass and my metabolism are doing a bit too much of a good job.

  • you look grea.... :)

  • @MsMia411 Thanks! :)

  • Wow - I've just seen this video for the first time and I'm blown away! You look and by all that's apparent seem like a new woman. You are an inspiration!

  • @thehappycouple123 Thanks so much! :)

  • Thank you for making this video an talking about wls. I will be having surgery in about 3-4 weeks. I am scared. But excited :) I am not looking forward to the hair loss, but since it is temporary it will be worth it. Currently 270 lbs and 5'6" with a strong family history of heart disease and diabetes. No co-morbidites other than sleep apnea, but I'm sure it would just be a matter of time. I am 43. Ready to start a new and healthy life. You look amazing!

  • @angelcakes1091 Best of luck to you on your upcoming surgery! It really is amazing how much it changes your life in so many ways. You will do great, I am really happy for you! :) Don't worry about the hair loss, it is temporary, but the health benefits will be with you forever.

  • @freshorangina Thank you! My surgery is scheduled for one week from tomorrow! So excited but nervous!

  • wow!!!!! u have became a totally new person! congratulations! i cant help of crying when i see people have done weightloss with success like u. Im gonna do the operation as well sometime in december hopefully and im really worried for hair loss and excessive skin. How did u do it? u dont seem to have any excessive skin.

and wht daily supplies do u talk about? do i have to take medication everyday? it would be really helpful if u replied, thank u so much

    :)

  • @adves87 Thanks so much. :) Which operation are you having? There are so many different types of weight loss surgery, all with different issues. The hair loss I just dealt with, cut it short, made it as fluffy as possible, it does grow back. I have a lot of skin, check out my most recent video to see some of it. I would take the skin over dying from diabetes/heart disease/stroke any day! With gastric bypass, you need to take vitamin supplements everyday for the rest of your life.

  • @freshorangina thanx for replying. Im gonna have the gastric bypass- one. im just so worried for the hair loss and all that but what can u do, rather all that than being fat. im hoping for the best tho, i would like to have a body like yours. how much do u weigh now?

  • @adves87 There are probably more than 15 different types of "gastric bypass" I am guessing you are getting RNY. I had MGB, the structure is quite different. The hair and the skin are just something you deal with along with the body dysmorphia. Really surgery should be for if you are so heavy it is affecting your health so much you will possibly die within 10 years. I am 130 now, but I would have been very happy with anything below 180.

  • hi want to know that did yr skin losened ?

  • you are beautiful, is your chest real?

  • Im thinking about going under the knife i weigh almost 280 at 5'11 i also have a family history of diabetes and everything and ive been trying to lose weight but nothing helps. Im only 18 and my mom had the surgery to she thinks it will be good for me but it seems like everyone else diasagrees....i dont think i care to much about that lol but I just want to say this video helped...thanks

  • I think the decision can be harder to make when you are younger. There are so many things you really have to commit to, like taking your supplements daily for the rest of your life. Even when you reach goal, it can be a challenge to maintain. What type of surgery are you interested in? If there is any way I can help, please let me know. :)

  • yea I know my mom had the bypass but I want the lap band I just dont know if insurance will cover it or not, my mom has been a rn for about 12years now and her insurance is really good Im about 100lbs overweight

  • You look amazing !!! I commend you on your success and i wish you the best !!!

  • Thanks so much!! :)

  • You look incredible! The most wonderful thing about watching these before/after videos is seeing how happy the people are and how much the weight loss improves that inner happiness. Congrats to you!!

  • Thanks so much! :)

  • WOW! Talk about inspirational! I'm speechless! I hope I can have half the success you are enjoying once I have my VSG. Congratulations.

  • Thanks so much, and my best wishes to you on your upcoming surgery. :)

  • WOW.

    You look so amazing !!

The progress you've made is inspirational.

  • Thanks! :)

  • Hi am Taina just wanted to say u look amazing congrat !!!!!

  • Hi Taina! Thanks so much, you are also doing awesome, congrats!! :)

  • Continued from last comment...What are u eating typically and how much? How much do you excercize a week? (truthfully) I have been trying to up my activity so I have been walking and hula hooping a lot but I am sure I should be doing more. Anyway thanks for posting the video. I love following you and your transformation!

  • I eat mostly fish and some dairy (cheese), vegetables and fruit. I have issues with carbs, but I do have some sometimes. It just gets me in a bad cycle. I am not eating enough calories though, and I have to work on that. I get down to the gym for about an hour 3 times a week, but I dance around my house ALL the time, like a nut. LOL Just make sure your house is always filled with good tunes and move! BTW, your puppy is so cute!

  • WOOHOO ! You look amazing! Incredible! Your pictures are awesome.. that vacation looked like a dream. Costa rica looked gorgeous and like a lot of fun. I am over 5 months (mgb)out and have only lost 75 so far... so that puts me at 175 (from 250).

  • I LOVE my MGB!!! It sounds like you are doing fantastic!!! Your progress is great!! What is your final goal weight?

  • Hey Carrie, great update! I love the Costa Rica pics!! You look beautiful!! You've come so far, 146 lbs is so amazing!!!

  • Thanks Viki!! :D

  • Thanks! I am 151 down as of this morning, half of me GONE!! I can hardly believe it, it feels great!! :)

  • Wow! What a huge difference - even since you modeled those cute new clothes you shrunk out of while on your trip! You don't even look like you were ever overweight! That is just awesome. Congrats!

  • THANKS!!! Its funny, almost like every couple of months I have to completely re-adjust to how I look. LOL! Your comment about how I look like I was never overweight almost brought tears to my eyes.

  • Well, it's true! And when I saw your before pics I almost cried - what a huge difference! I am sooooooooo happy for you!

  • Wow, you look fabulous. I just love Costa Rica, what an awesome place! did you get to see the huge sea turtles lay eggs Or go in the natural hot springs?

  • Thanks Fab, I hope you and yours are all feeling better. Costa Rica was incredible! I was volunteering on a green sea turtle conservation project on the central Pacific coast, but then I went up to Tortuguero and yes, on the night watch I got to stand right behind her and she was dropping eggs two feet from my FACE!!! It was so cool. As far as the hot springs I went to Baldi every night at Arenal. Tabacon was kind of pricey, but I'll be back! :D

  • LOL, even with my weight loss, I have identified some of the things you talk about. I noticed that I don't feel like my arms arn sticking out when I put them down to my sides. They actually go down to my sides! You are beautiful!

  • Thanks!! Yeah, the little things are pretty fun to notice. :)

  • did your weight come off slowly of fast? mine is like a turtle, very slow. but I try to be positive about it but its hard. you look great!!

  • Thanks! My weight loss has literally been a roller coaster. Almost every month I stay the same or gain for two weeks, then I loose big for two weeks. When it was slow or I thought I was having a plateau I would do the protein drinks for 2 meals and a salad for the third. It is still really early for you. Don't stress, keep to your plan and it will happen before you know it!

  • Wowza!!!! What a journey you've been on! You look wonderful! And you're so pretty. You're really tiny. Costa Rica looks fabulous, I'd love to go! I'm sure it was so much more fun than had you been heavy.

  • Thanks so much! You are officially the first person in my lifetime to call me "tiny". Costa Rica was fantastic, and I could not have done any of what I did while I was there pre-op. I was just too big and too sick. It is kind of emotional when I think about that. It really is incredible how the surgery changes your life.

  • omg you look amazing! i am so happy for you, how did you lose so much so fast tell me your secret? i need some tips. like what your eating or what exercise did you do please tell me. ok? you look so wonderful just have to let you know well have a great week!

  • Thanks! I don't really have any secret, other than that my body does not really tolerate carbs well, so I don't eat really eat any "white" foods (ie, flour, sugar). I eat mostly fish and seafood with a bit of rare steak or sometimes calf liver if I feel I need the extra iron. I do some cheese, fruits and veggies, but in general I don't really eat too much and will need to find the right way to increase my calories. My workouts mostly consist of elliptical and yoga.

  • you look fantastic! do you have any skin issues? if you do, you hide it well!

    great job!

    monika

  • Hi Monika, thanks so much. Skin issues, boy do I EVER have skin issues!! In clothes you can't really notice it too much. The worst areas are the usuals; breasts, tummy, arms and thighs. I want to try working out a lot more in the upcoming year, but I fully intend on getting plastics.

  • you look great! I can only hope I look that good at 9 months out.

  • Don't just hope, believe it!!! There were many days where I was where you are now, and there will be a day when you will be close to goal! If you ever have any questions, let me know! :)

  • thanks!

  • AWESOME! Congratulations! You look fantastic!!!

  • Thanks! I must admit, it feels pretty good! :D
