@cainmartel It's referred to officially as being an unreleased song from Fragile, so I'm assuming it may have been a song meant to be right after the Wretched, or maybe on Fragile (right), as much of what is on the right disc has recurring pieces of music or lyrics from the left disc.
What other artist can make such an amazing song/album, not feel content that it has been fully explored and utilized, then produce another amazing track/album with the same "materials"?
Only Trent, as far as I have seen. And that goes for Fixed, Further Down The Spiral, and the awesome versions also.
This is my FAVORITE of his remixes but all of them are really dope!! It takes some real talent to do what he has done!! I've liked NIN since i was like 10 when i heard Pretty Hate Machine but The Fragile is all together my FAVORITE album for sure!!
LOL at the sci -fi-ness I was playing buckets of Halo 2 when i was listening to Halo 16. It just reminds me of smashing elites and grunts while jumping about big alien worlds...
Why do I imagine this song being used in a Sci-Fi game, and the plot is just this one guy comes into a building, even though he has a gun out he seems invisible to everyone but those he is about to kill?
I bought this album the first day it came out and it was like the "Further Down the Spiral" remix album to "The Downward Spiral" but different, I love this song especially out of all the others, it time warps me to another place I'd rather be. I am making music of my own and have been greatly influenced by Trent Reznor, Maynard from TOOL, A Perfect Circle, Puscifer, Corey Taylor from Slipknot and Stonesour, Mudvayne, Deftones, Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam, Chevelle, Silverchair and the list goes
@SHAWNWILD1 Wow, someone with the same eclectic taste in progressive and pseudo-electronica industrial hip-hop bluesy rock music. :P
Good to see there are still people that come for the story more than the beat. Got any suggestions for groups and musicians that're a little more current?
goddamn trent is such a genius <3 you know an artist is good if their remix albums are just as good as the original, and are almost their own album, in a way. The Fragile will always be a masterpiece, but this is such a beautiful extension of it, just like Further Down The Spiral complements The Downward Spiral. You can tell just as much thought went into the remixes. I LOVE your username by the way!! :D
@nirewolf0 His remix albums are amazing. I love the art that's really put behind each of his works, and how the remixes are like the sequels or varying interpretations to the initial song it's based off of. Trent tells a story, and I always listen.
Oh, and thanks for your compliment about my username ^_^ I really appreciate it :)
@nirewolf0 further down the spiral... the closer part 1/2 deluxe set.. march of the pigs singles... broken, fixed... so many self-remixes. totally. I didn't really even know this was a remix, it's hard to tell what isn't a remix on his regular albums. what a world is his!
First time I've heard this. I am a fan of all other NIN albums, but I haven't really heard much about "Things Falling Apart". I'll definitely get it after hearing this song.
This will always be one of my top 3 favorite songs from this album.
