My dear friend, i`m not talking about subhankar bannerjee, he play`s very good.. i`m talking about the subject Meastro`s, riyaz, sound qualitity, teqnice ect. I`m not talking bad, u so called tabla meastro`s on the internet always take words wrong against people who talk reallity
And how does it matter whether someone calls him Pt. or not. In front of music all the titles and awards are meaningless. The way this person is playing shows that he only cares about music.
Dear Mr. Banarsipaan, I have never ever seen such a rude remark before. Why are you so jealous? Is it because he doesn't belong to Banaras Gharana. The names that you have mentioned (including Pt. Kishan Maharaj) have said great things about Subhankar Banerjee. I myself was present at the concert when Pt. Kishan Maharaj had tears in his eyes listening to Subhankar Banerjee.
U have 2 check the history of the old masters, then u would know how heavy these title`s Ustad and Pandit are. Today they play ok, but they mix everything and it``s less pure and less traditional and less riyaz then in the old days.

He is good ..but yet to be a Pandit.....Still no way near real Pandits/Ustads Like Swapan ji..Anindo ji ...leaving apart Zakir ji....There are a few very good of his generation...like Yogesh ji...Vijay Ghate ji.... Bikram ji..Abhijit ji ..Subhen ji & others who are also yet to be Pandits....I think....He should put more melody in his solo rather than power only...

There are players much lower than this guy who have pandit and ustad status. You can see for yourself on youtube. You dont see tabla players of Ahmed Jan Thirakwa or Habibuddin Khan or Amir Hussain calibre these days.
@sonofthedestroyer "Excellence" has no time, and what mr. banerjee is playing here is as much ridiculous as to be called childish, yes. Remember I am not here to flame people. What I just said was revealed to me slowly through my research on the developement(not marketing) of tabla for the last 20 years.
And, I know people who play the "Thirakwa" way, AND they have developed the tabla in this modern age, they seldom come in limelight. But I can refer you one if you like.
Very very good. Panditji's tiyaari, dedication and commitment can be seen very very clearly. God bless.

This recording dosent do justice. Banerjee produces an exceptionally beautiful tone on the tabla which many more famous Ustads cannot match.
