People are finally starting to learn that Denmark is a deeply intolerant and autocratic state. It's all fun and games, until you step even slightly out of line, and then the police and society as a whole will brutalize you and then throw you out. It's an assbackward country full of arrogant, deluded assbackward people.
I do, and it's not how you describe it. I do agree that we throw way to many people out.
But you make it sound like we all are a simply assholes, who hate other people?
The majority of the population is tolerant, and kind, but there are some who gives us a bad reputation. Like when some dummies didn't thought and printed the Mohammed drawings. I'm danish, and christian, but I still got mad.
Greenlands glaciers are melting faster than they used to, contributing to the rise of sea levels worldwide. While warmer atmospheric temperatures thin all the glaciers from above, scientists have wondered if warmer waters are also melting the many glaciers that flow into the fjords.
Two studies published in Nature Geoscience provide evidence that this is the case.
VENICE, La.—A growing fleet of air and sea craft is fighting a rapidly expanding oil spill emanating from a well at the bottom of the U.S. Gulf of Mexico, as communities around the Gulf Coast brace for its likely impact on commerce and the environment.
Wealthy and developing nations should be able to seal an agreement this year on deforestation, unlocking a key part of the next treaty on global warming, Indonesian negotiators said Monday
At December's Copenhagen climate summit, six nations pledged a total of 3.5 billion dollars to help developing countries fight the loss of forests, seen as a leading cause of global warming along with industrial pollution.
Levels of the main greenhouse gas in the atmosphere have risen to new highs in 2010 despite an economic slowdown in many nations that braked industrial output, data showed on Monday.

So all these sherades and the conference achieved nothing. Then to top it off the Danish police waste some more taxmoney to keep greenpeace in jail for 3 weeks. For a banner. I'd be pretty pissed off if i were a Danish taxpayer.
you know i like it what you guys are doing, but save the climate in a land rover?
well anyway, i think you shouldn't have done this 'cause you know that the leaders of most countries are to stupit to do something or even listen to you..
why yes i think they could've. out of all the cars you can rent, they rent one of the most pollutive models out there. good going treehuggers. i'm just pointing out the irony in this clip.
The car was used to drive up to the Danish royal palace. That means being conducted by a police escort, with a flashlight on the roof (which they bought for 50 crones on the internet) between the cars of all the other heads of state. If they wanted to have a chance of getting through security, they HAD to blend in with the other cars, meaning in a polluting car.
Is totally valid that a person could express itself but there is a moment and a time to do it, and of course you should have a minimun of respect. Please greenpeace do not pretend to be a hero, saving us from somethig that does not exist...
They could have unfurled the banners in front of the world leaders, but they didn't. They chose to do it in fornt of the cameras instead. They achieved that the message circled the globe, which is probably far more effective.
please support the "Sea Shepherd " ie whale boat rams Sea Shepherd we all have a own battles some with the NWO, some with saving the Whales and sea life
Ten years ago this happening would have been sheer fun. But, sadly, times have changed. Today everyone has to accept the fact that security is important and serious business. Hence, I believe it is time for the Greenpeace activists to grow up and take their time to study the term "Civil disobedience". Civil disobedience is not about breaking laws. Its about breaking unjust laws. Your criminal act has nothing to do with unjust law. Youre just being criminals, plain and simple.

@Metziker What do you mean by 'cruel offender'? Are you talking about the activists in this video? Are you aware that Greenpeace is a pacifist organization and that these people meant to do no harm to anyone?
I see you are trying to defend the law, which is cool, but do you realize that laws are made by humans, that they are made to protect us and that they are not perfect?
Part of a judge's job is to interpret the spirit of a law in order to avoid its potentially absurd consequences.
The three laws they have been charged with (§172, §134 and §264) may not be perfect, but they broke them all (hence, every single one of them, it being three of them and all).
Not even Sarkozy's plead for our activists release for Xmas was taken into account by the Danish police. They have now decided to detain them all until at least January 7.
Queen Margrethe II is apparently nothing like her famous and courageous namesake.
The Danish government must be run by complete idiots -- they don't seem to care that in one fell swoop they have destroyed 65 years of Denmark's good name and reputation.
They do not care they ordered police to beat innocent and legally marching protesters, who included the elderly & children.
They do not care that they illegally incarcerated innocent marchers in cages and subsequently pepper sprayed them.
What I find most shocking about this whole story is that so much money is spent on locking heads of state away from the population and that there seem to be a lot of laws to prevent citizens from getting anywhere near them.
This is not what I call democracy.
Democracy, to me, is an exchange of opinions, a search for the common good.
Not a group of privileged politicians having luxury dinners while more and more go hungry because of climate change.
The couple that crashed a white house dinner were not imprisoned. Why should Greenpeace activists be detained so long? These leaders who failed to commit to real measures that will avert climate change are the ones who should be imprisoned.
Heads of state: don't forget you are here to serve your constituents.
They try to warn everyone and demand to act to save our Gaia, and they are send to jail as terrorists.
All leaders knew what whas the correct, but they did'nt act and let the climate change to grow, destroying biodiversity and putting into more danger all humanity.
All my support to López Uralde and their colleagues under arrest in this very hard moment specially at this Christmas season. Hope they will be released without any punishement and can spent Chirstmas together their family in peace ¡¡
Preventing them from spending the festive season with their families and loved ones is effectively a punishment without trial and has the appearance of a vindictive act. It is unnecessary and totally out of proportion to what they did
...its the queens castle, believe me, you need an invitation.
As with any nation, having fake number plates on the car is illegal in Denmark, impersonating authority figures with the intent to commit crime = illegal in Denmark.
@Metziker You wrote: "you are not above the law because you do a good thing".
The activists know that. In another video which was shot shortly before this action, you can hear them say that they expect to spend a few nights in prison. Still they choose to take the risk because they feel they have a moral obligation towards the victims of climate change.
Sometimes, strict application of laws gives unacceptable outcome. Everybody knows this. That's why there are certain margins of flexibility...
within any legal system. From police officer to judge up to minister of justice, many servants of justice have the authority to adjust the punishment to the seriousness of the crime. In this case, to apply an anti-terrorism law to peaceful activists is just absurd and disproportionate.
So, nobody is above the law (except for Bush and Berlusconi) but the law should never stand above justice.
Preventive imprisonment and isolation for crashing a party is so absurd that can only be explained if Juan López de Uralde and the other two are held prisoner by their ideas: prisoners of conscience in Denmark. Instead of going forward, the world and our Europe are involutioning towards times in which civil rights could be trampled by pretended democratic countries
There is no certainty in the words of a leader, a prophet, nor even those of God, the certainty of all rests in their actions.
Nature offers he'r very best, and demands only the same in return...
therefore.... mankind being capable of extending it's humanity toward the natural world, must meet this agreement completely or suffer the consequences of his indifference.
what are they exactly accused of and shouldn't they have had a court hearing within so many hours/days? Are they not even allowed bail to go free while they wait for their trial? The whole EU, of which Denmark is a member, should be ashamed of seeing them languish in prison at this time of the year. How does that (over)-reaction look like, if not like an admission of guilt and embarrassment on the side of the "accusers"/prosecutors.

They rented three cars, places fake number plates on it and drove it to the castle.

How does that (over)-reaction look like, if not like an admission of guilt and embarrassment on the side of the "accusers"/prosecutors.
There is still time to release them.

Wonder how she looks like in prison outfit.
