IMO neither are worth buying.

But then I wouldn't buy any toy related to a franchises unless it:

1. Is a candy dispenser that can be re-filled

2. Is a minigame thing. (BUT NOT TACKY CHEAP or CRUDDY LIKE THOSE B&W HANDHELDS SOME BARBERS HAVE FOR THE KIDS)

Unlike most people who think, oh it's american so it must be shit, i do have to admit i do enjoy the samuraizer more than my rusty shodouphone, which has become kinda floppy over the past 2 years even though i hardly used it. The screen's on rangerboard are also a great help to make the morpher look better since there more accurate stickers.

@MetalSnakeUtah Exactly. Plus, the American crap that is called the "Samuraizer Morpher" is what, 10 to 15 bucks at retail? The thing does NOT warrant a $10-$15 price tag. It makes WAY less sounds then the Shodo Phone, and it looks like something you'd get in a Happy Meal (to borrow a phrase). You wined about the Shodo Phone's quality, EVEN THOUGH YOU SAID THAT YOU PLAYED WITH IT FOR ABOUT TWO YEARS. You didn't even go over the PRM's construction quality. This is just an excuseto wine. @QWERTYOrder66 Is the ShodoPhone worth the $150 it's going for now? Considering the Mobirates (which has loads more functionality than the ShodoPhone is going for at least $60 (if you're lucky to find one) I don't think so...unless you're a die-hard fan who's willing to blow off a load of money for that. Technically, even at its retail price there wasn't much functionality to the toy than past cell phone changers like say, the Accelular from Boukenger. The quality DID go down from 2008 onward.

I've noticed they have been using the shodo phone as a prop in Power Rangers Samurai as opposed to the prop they used in the preveiw :(

The Shodophone was designed like that because Ancient Japanese Samurais train their swordsmanship skills through writing with a brush. PR Samurai's Samuraizer uses laser to write instead of a brush tip for more high-tech design (and nice that they differ so they can be differenciated easily).
