  • 300 $....WTF?!

  • Tip. Run a Malekko compressor into this delay, coupled with an MXR carbon copy, and you can create some freaky sounds.....

  • I have both the AD9 and the Mad Professor - the Mad Prof is by far the better of the two.

  • does this pedal uses a regular AC Adapter, (like the ones used by the boss pedals) or needs a special one?

  • would you recommend the ibanez AD9 or the mad professor?

  • Agh, stop with the oscillation thing! who uses that? its annoying!

  • Andy knows how to bring out the best in any pedal.

As soon as I'm interested in any new pedal, I check to see if Andy & PGS has a demo of it first!

  • does this pedal have the spillover/trail effect of the delay of going into bypass?

  • is this the best sounding delay pedal that i would get?

  • i must chose for deep blue or wampler analog delay....can you help me in this decision???

  • You can buy it from Finland. In all music shop have Mad Professors.

  • Can you guys please demo pedals on vintage hondo guitars and firstact amps. you know stuff most of us have :P

  • How come in the discription it talks about this pedal being made for distortion, but the whole demo was played with the delay on a clean channel?

  • shot gun this delay pedal :) christmas is coming up , so andy make sure u got plenty in stock :D

  • haha, analog digital hybrid. Those hard to find analog opamps must be what make it so expensive.

  • Can i add a tap tempo swicht to this pedal?

  • wow that pedal is bitchin'

  • to expensive

  • It brings to mind "In a Day Dream" Freddie Jones.

    Interesting.

  • This one sounds a lot better than the MXR to me

  • Go listen to some Carbon Copy Demo's.

If you like mud I guess its alright.

This pedal has far greater clarity and is in a clsss by itself.

  • @TheCrystalyne I've listened to them, either you can't hear very well or you are very biased.

  • this pedal sounds absolutely amazing. i just got one two weeks ago, previously a boss rv-3 and before that a moog user. this actually sounds better than the moog. its very musical, but has the accuracy of a digital delay. the EQing on this is just perfect, it never ruins what you are trying to do by making it too effecty. you simply can't dial in a bad sound. hopefully more people find out about this, its pretty ridiculous

  • yeah carbon copy is way better and echo baby from lovepedal that even nicer

  • I own a carbon copy (which sounds really good) and a lovepedal echo baby both with modulation. so for the money these are better pedals. Mad professor is just way to expensive.

  • Do you?

  • I think the new Aqua Puss sounds better for way less money.

  • @DSilvergun Really? The Deep Blue rules. The Aqua Puss sounds tinny as hell to me. The repeats on this sound really warm and creamy. I honestly can't live without this one. I had the original Aqua Puss and sold it (wish I'd kept it long enough to get the collector's price for it!) because of how not great it sounded. I can't imagine that the crappy Dunlop RI would sound much better. But to each their own, I suppose.

  • Sounds very hendrix! Love it :)

  • magnifico!!! comprare ese

  • This or a Keeley modded DD-3?

  • I really like the effects from 7:00 onward. I assume this isn't the ONLY delay pedal that can give you such nice sounding sweeps?

  • this or MXR carbon copy or Ibanez AD9? Recommend me pleas.. i want short delay long repeat..

  • The carbon copy is terrible. It was just too warm and over did the whole warm analog thing. Well according to my ears. And the AD9 is noisy. Try Electro Harmonix.

  • @Hugoow16 thissssssss

  • Andy you are one crazy mo fo! That space tweaking at the end was right out of the late 60's!

  • well what delay works with amp distortion

  • My choice is the Boss DD-2/original spec DD-3. Amazing sounding delay.

  • sounds like a nice delay for radiohead stuff especially at the end

  • some of the playing is like the edge but not the delay sound. his repeats are usually more distinct than the deterioating tape delay sound.

  • Sounds like the Edge. Good vid.

  • give me the schematic!..ha ha ha ha.......

  • It's nothing more than a slightly modified rebote 2 delay (a diy project - the schematics, layout etc. are available for free)..

Mad Professor is the one that should be getting the thumbs down... $300 for a pedal they didn't come up with.. but that's boutique for you.

  • it's an echoplex in a box! my favorite analog voiced digital delay pedal!

  • im in love with this evil thingggg

  • gracias por la ayuda y consejos

  • I'm thinking of buying the Orange Rocker 30 combo, it doesn't have an effects loop and I just have to ask.. I heard from somewhere that you can't use delay if you don't have it in the effects loop. Is that true or can you do like,

    Guitar>Delay pedal>Amplifier

Would that work? Please response :D

  • Works perfect on my amp that doesn't have an effects loop, if that helps at all.

  • Any delay pedal con be used in front of the amp, no need for an effects loop...

  • that would work completly fine.. any pedal should work like that. to be honest i dont know how to use an effects loop haha i never fuck with any of that

  • You can if you use the amp only for clean and maybe some OD pedal before the delay, if you run a delay or a reverb before overdrive or distortion, the delays will distort and then go clean, lead guitar sound will sound messed up, it is not a desired tone that way. Effects loops are only made for using such effects with the amp's natural distortion.

  • just make sure you put it last in the chain

  • Would work perfect just whatever you do don't use your amp distortion

  • yes it works fine but it simply sounds better in the effects loop. if this is in a chain other pedals make sure it goes at the end for best results but hey its ur sound do what u want

  • Like I said before in a comment, if you stay clean on your amp, you have no worries, if you use amp distortion, the delay will suck that way if you don't have and fx loop. then a solution will be Guitar>Overdrive pedal>Delay>Amp.

  • What a warm repeat! It's so sad it has no modulation.

  • can this pedal do a single repeat

  • Sounds like a nice peal but here is what I want to know. The mp fuzzes and all the pedals from them are

over $300 in price, why does any one pay $300

for a fucking fuzz pedal? Chris

  • $300 dollars is alot, but MP pedals are among the best on the market. They're all truly incredible.

  • Skreddy Echo is better.

  • @gringo699c Because they're hand wired...

  • I've seen it in smaller boutique guitar shops. Never in a Guitar Center type store. If you live in CT, they have them at a place called G Guitars.

  • Is this pedal true bypass?

  • yes

  • what analog pedal has triplet option?

  • t-rex replica delay has triplet options.

  • yeah, t-rex replica is a digital pedal... an incredibly awsome digital pedal but a digital pedal...

  • @CollapsingMotion This is digital too.

  • i want this pedal but where the hell can i buy it other than the internet lol

  • You can't. That's why we made a video for you.

    :) PGS

  • @ProGuitarShopDemos haha you can buy it in the Netherlands

  • come to Denmark, here you can..lol

  • Yeah, we have all the good stuff here.

Hell, we have the best brand in pedals, T-Rex.

  • @sourpips Dude, it's 2010, Noone actually goes outside anymore.

Even concerts are performed on youtube now - it's all optimized to kill your inner child ;)

  • @skurtix - Ha! Awesome.

  • @ProGuitarShopDemos Dude, can you possibly do a demo with some light/heavy distortion? I'm thinking about buying it, but can't seem to find a demo with distortion anywhere!

  • @ProGuitarShopDemos what if you wanna try it yourself? im lucky to be in montreal, we have a store called boutique tone where you can sit and try without hearing thru youtube (which fucks up the sound quality a bit)

  • @sourpips DLX Music Kuopio, Finland.

  • @sourpips You can buy it from Finland on all music shops.

  • @sourpips Actually you can. You have just to find a store where the owner is not freezed on the leading brands of the world market like Boss and other similar.

If you live in the U.S.A. there's no problem, you should be able to find Mad Professor's pedals in the stores for sure.

  • i bow to the awesomeness of your pedal demo kung fu! best pedal demos on the youtube!

  • I love the Diamond Memorylane 2, but you can't beat the Fulltone. Skreddy makes a nice vintage sounding echo, too.

  • That's a truly beautiful sounding delay.

  • Still cheaper than my RMC3... lol. Also this seems to so far be the best pedal for its size, price, and sound compared to the humongous ep's and space choruses

  • hmmm.. what what do you think,

    should i get this delay,

    or something else

i want something pink floydy or a bit trippy.

if theirs a better delay that you think i should have a look at please tell me.

  • I'm looking for the same in a delay pedal, check the malekko 600 and the maxon ad-999, those are my top, if you find anything better for a psychedellic-pf delay, please tell me...

  • Man I have an MXR carbon copy analog delay and I absolutely love it. It is very similar sounding to this pedal to me. The carbon copy also has switchable delay modulation to give the delays a chorusy like effect

  • could be, but I have a crybaby and a mxr GT-OD, and I've had problems with them both, and I've read reviews of the carbon copy where some people explain that there comes hiss with the pedal, the same hiss that I'm getting with my gt-od and also my crybaby, that is repaired. My choise would be the mad professor or the EHX deluxe memory man.

  • Pig Tronix Echolution

  • I think you should stop asking everyone on every pedal demo which pedal you should buy-just listen and make your own decision.

  • I have one of these in my rack and it rivals any of the EP-2/EP-3 Echoplex's I have had over the years! Same great sounds, smaller size, well made, and no tapes or motors to maintain. Pricey you say? Price an Echoplex or Tubeplex, plus the tapes and the maintainence. Maybe not so bad afterall huh? Great video/audio demo by the way! Shows the full range of the pedal.

  • BEST DELAY PEDAL EVER.

  • Hey man, I give you in appreciation, a tap on the shoulder. Great, great demos..

  • We're glad you like the videos! We plan on doing many more.

    PGS

  • I have one and I Love it! As usual GREAT demo.

  • Talk about pricey...

  • this is an awesome delay ... it's one of the two on my board.

  • but seriously..I totally admire your guitar skills. Great work man!

  • ferret...

  • yes.

  • luscious & radical. Im sold

  • excellent...

  • gorgeous

  • beautiful
