Whatever it is, it's coming from the White Sea, or the area there about. Follow the links I've posted for exact spots. One has a bird's view where you can clearly see the buildings in the photo. the other is a military camp which is excempt from bird's view but still has convincing features such as the mountain in the video in this interview. Both point east. Haarp is towards north.

No sightings were reported in Finland or Russia. The ripples can't be smoke when taking into consideration the distance and the velocity of the spiral formations. Just from the distance of the mountain the rotational speed of the arms would have been 710 MPH~ faster than the record wind speed of a tornado. It was most visible North West of the HAARP facility. This is the Russians way of forcing disclosure in my opinion with HAARP technology. Look at the other holographic image sightings there.

I'm not an expert either but I'll try to explain what I know on the subject as best I can here. :)

Missiles are designed to rotate for stabilization purposes, so when this failed the exhaust (coming from the side of the missile) traces a spiral pattern. Being in the very high atmosphere the trail extends outward very far without encountering resistence.

As for why this one makes such a nice spiral, part of is it coincidence/luck, the rest is perspective, it being viewed from the front.

Grab a fireworks rocket and designed it to perform spirals. You would quickly learn that it cannot be done. A Rocket is designed to be steered but needs a foundation to do a perfect spiral. Nail that rocket to a tree and then you will see a rocket capable of doing perfect spirals. What we are seeing here is something with a foundation (maybe the blue light) to be able spin with such precision. I have no idea what it is but I cannot see how it could have possibly been a rocket

Most of the videos are underexposed (only showing a 10th of the actual sight) and most pictures are overexposed (showing a distorted version or a bigger version of the sight). No known projector, conventional bulb or laser, is capable of this. I regret that I didn't witness the whole ordeal myself. I got outside to see just as the blob disappeared and all that was left was the blue trail, which lasted for something like an hour or two. If it was a rocket, the blue trail my guess is fuel leak.
