  • This for me is very very accurate.

  • I traded mine a while back. for three name brand long guns, could not turn it down. So I got to trade my smith 469 for a glock 27, then I saw another p95 Yeah I took a loss, but you I believe it was worth it. I like the pistol.

  • I just bought one of these. I can't wait to take to the range.

  • At 2 minutes and 24 seconds in of your video, I see that you remove your trigger slack right up to the sear. What I'm noticing is the creep in your trigger at about 1/8 of an inch. Mine isn't far off from yours as mine is at about 1/16 of an inch which I thought was pretty bad. Do you have any tips as to what's causing that creep in the trigger and what I can maybe do to remedy it. I mean no disrespect when I say it, but when I am firing a gun, it should not go off as a surprise.

  • The Ruger P95 was the first pistol ive bought and this video definitely helped. Thanks man.

  • Great video!! This was very helpful to me!

  • @millerusaf Thanks a lot man that was a great video. I had to sift through about 50 before this that wernt jack shit. Im gonna be buying this P95 real soon. Thanks again.

  • Kudos to you, millerusaf, for being able to decipher mathew1929's unintelligible comment.

  • Thanks to you and your tips, i tore the crap outta the bullseye of my target @ 15 yards! Very helpful indeed, once again thank you !

  • i have a P95. I never knew about the idea of keeping the trigger back during recoil so you don't have to reposition the pad of your finger [no requirement to "reacquire" the trigger"]. simply let the trigger out just enough to let it reset and then re-engage the seer. i'll try this next time with live ammo, having practiced with dry firing snap caps just now.

    Thanks.

  • I loved how thick chamber, I mean I put some heavy reloads through mine!

  • I've been struggling with accuracy, and there are a couple of things I feel might be the problem. My grip and offhand grip are proper. I think my problem might be the Hogue grip I put on. I've noticed that my accuracy improves if I reinforce the gun butt with the heel of my offhand. If not, my shots go outside of 10" @ 15 yards

  • Ok, you have just made me decide on which gun to buy. These videos explains a lot to me, so thank you. Ruger p95 here i come! At last, an informed choice. Its hard for a newb.

  • Thanks for the video and the clear tutorial! I did learn something. And I agree, my first thought after taking mine to the range was that it shoots like butter.

  • Awesome video, very good advice!

  • nice video i just baught one for 370 plus backround check.. 1 question. are they better then glocks ?

  • Thanks for the vid, anxiously waiting the arrival so i can try your tips and practice @ the range...here in Kalifornistan we have to jump thru hoops to get ours...

  • i see you do these cotrol trigger basics like what u said is to keep the trigger pull baack but when i see u shoot the ruger p95 u dont hold the trigger back. u show us to do it but u dont. WTF?!?!?!

  • @mathew1929 Yes I do. Alot of the vids show me rapid firing the ruger. I'm not going to hold the trigger back a long time when rapid firing.

  • Huh, I'm a relative new gun owner I've been shooting my P95 for a few months now and have always let go of the trigger after firing. Will have to try the keeping it held down and only releasing enough to reengage it. Gonna try that this weekend, thanks for the tip.

  • GREAT GREAT GREAT video. Totally right.

  • Milller, thank you for posting all of these sweet videos, I am new to shooting and I just bought a P95. (they are tough to find in cincinnati :P) All of these videos have been helpful to me and my new ruger.

  • great tip on the trigger - it a mistake I have been making - I appreciate the video

  • air force and tactical in the same sentence...made me LOL.

  • LOL....."you would be able to reach out and touch somebody at 100 yards" Great videos man. I just ordered a p95 yesterday, can't wait for it to come in!

  • Thats how I shoot my P95 AND my M1911. I taught this style to my sons and they have better hits on target now......:)

PS: I took them out to the Rod N Gun Club here and let them shoot the 12 GA NEF Pardner you showed me, Man they were smiling and they LOVE that 18.5 barrel 12 gauge Pump. Keep trying to talk Dad out of it ! LOL:) Thanks

  • Good tip on the trigger pull. Thanks for your tips man.

  • all da/sa triggers have takeup in sa fire

  • i just got a p95 yesterday plan to put some rounds thou it this upcomeing weekend!! great video by the way i will have try out some of the things you where talking about

  • Great Video. I just bought one and cant wait to go to the range.

  • thanks so much for the great trigger management tips

  • I bought my P-95 brand new in 1996,and after 8000 bangs it`s a hell of a gun for the price.but i manage to break the very tip on the magazine catch and my mag falls after 2 shots are fired, and i also need to replace the recoil spring in it.

I no longer use it for work my wife got me a G34 for valentines two years back and i`m spoiled by it,but i`ll get around to fix it hopefully one day.The P-95 has given me good years of non stop service..i love two tone.

  • @voogun Bought your P95 in 1996 huh? I wish I was a time traveler ;)

  • @Cidpilot i bought it summer of 96 new in the box for $325,but i hope top get around to send it back to Prescott for they can put new sights, recoil spring, and fix the broken mag catch.all in all i still have lots of love for my P95 but time is knocking at it`s door with much better models to chose from.

    Shoot Safe.

  • hi thankyou for the information. but i also want to know that when i want to shoot fast, what should be position of the finger on trigger.

  • i prefer a hipoint myself

  • Make a techs & functions video about its features. Talk about the safety, decocker etc.

  • Great!!! Thanks, very helpful!

  • I have the p95. I think this video will help me. Thanks.

  • I have a P95 and love it. Great vid, thx!

  • Ha! i knew theres something weird with intro. Its 16:9 but vid's 4:3

  • Great video and info Im gonna try this next time I go to the range I have a Ruger P95 and its fun to shoot Im thinking of getting a Ruger P94 in 40 cal !

  • Trigger prep and trigger reset are great skills to build on when your first start learning how to shoot a pistol.

but the most important skill to build in my opinion is to keep your eyes open while the gun fires (most people don't realize the close their eyes when they break the shot). keeping your eyes open as the shot breaks allows you to track the front sight as it lift up from the rear notch. allowing you to call your shot and see if your trigger pull disturbed the sights as the shot broke.

  • @losart3d some world champion shooters have developed the unorthodox ability to shoot accurately a rapidly by slapping the trigger, illustrating that in order to reach your maximum potential some times we need to experiment outside of the fundamentals.

    food for thought :D

  • @Rheinmetall20mm i have an old luger the trigger is awesome...

it's so smooth you can't really feel the reset.

  • Love to see you reppin the P95, Miller. Every time I go shooting with my buddies it turns into a P95 bash-fest by Glock and XD owners. I'm happy with my $300 pistol!

  • I'm glad you don't say,"this is gonna be an old school"no production"video" before every video. HAHA!

  • If you shoot anyone, with any gun, at 100 yards, youre going to go to jail for murder or attempted murder.

  • I think it would be better to use steel targets when shooting at long range because you get instant feedback.

  • Thanks a lot. Been waiting for a real review.

    The smith too please :)

  • I love my P95! I'm not sure about your model. But with mine, you can still practice the SA trigger pull without having to rack the slide over and over as long as the safety is engaged.

  • my shots sometimes go a little to the left. does that mean i have too much finger in the trigger?

  • @iPodLocK3R not necessarily

it depends on the trigger, for duble action triggers more finger is better,

as for pulling the gun based on finger placement try this...

dryfire the gun a few times with your eyes focused on the front sight.

see if you can drop the hammer/striker etc with out disturbing your sights with the current finger placement. if you can do this then your problem might be a flinch our anticipation. if not experiment with different finger positions. good luck

  • @losart3d hey thanx a ton for the tips pal.

  • I'm a decent shooter but it's gonna take some getting used to to start using the middle of the first finger pad to squeeze. I usually use the border between first and second pad.

  • cz 82 trigger is pretty much tha same. my damn country if you wanna rent a gun and shoot it will be only makarov CZ82 or Tokarev =(. If you wanna shoot something fancy you'll have to buy it first ;( ;(

  • ilike ruger p95 nice pistol

  • I have two. I like them neither of them have 500 rounds through it in both. I do like them for the money. My sig p229.40 caliber has the same play with the trigger.
