I was there - had just graduated from high school. Was way back in the crowd. Ah, those were the days to go to concerts. It was definitely more laid back than it is now. Loving the clothes and cars!
u must read this. once u have started there is no turning back.a little 10 yr old girl was raped and murderded in 1945. her body was not found until 1947. then a boy last week read this and did not copy and paste this message. the dead girl appeared in his room haunting him and killed him.if you do not copy and paste this onto 10 vids in 30 mins the dead girl will apear in your room tonight and haunt you and kill you. well you better start to copy and paste to be saved
I lived in the town of Pecatonica. The town was really worried about the big concert taking over the town. It was a hot day that day. Lots of weed being passed around.....The concert was great ! I went for AC/DC anc Cheap Trick. It was a mini woodstock PLUS the tickets were cheap. I just saw on E-Bay someone selling their rare ticket for a starting bid of $9.99. Rock ON !!!
I was there, it was July 4, 1979. Steve Dahl and Teenage Radiation (A notorious Chicago DJ) led things off, followed by the Babys, Molly Hatchet, AC/DC and then Cheap Trick.
A great, great 70's outdoor jam.
I'll never forget that when Sweet Home Alabama played over the PA before the show, it recieved a Standing O.
My first concert,it's amazing that this is on here after all of these years...wow.Off Broadway, Molly Hatchet, AC/DC and of course Cheap Trick...what a show it was...it's one that I tell my kids about now and will never forget.
I was 16 and drove from northern Indiana with 2 friends. Sold my class ring to afford the trip. Passed out at 6:00 am and was thrown on top of a dumpster by a bunch of bikers when the fences were being torn down. 30 years later I have no regrets. Thank you Cheap Trick and Ac/Dc... Still have the concert shirt
I grew up in Rockford and remember seeing posters when Trick started playing around town, though I didn't really know who they were till Budokan came out. I used to take guitar lessons at Nielsen's Music Box Gift Shop, which is where I bought my first guitar. What a great flashback these videos are.
I grew up outside of Rockford and remember when this was happening. The town of Pec was scared to death that their town was going to get completely trashed. I recall farmers were carrying signs protesting the event as well. I was a bit too young to go but my older brother went. If I remember correctly, AC/DC also played that day.
14 bucks for a concert. . Those were the days. Now you pay as 14 bucka for a beer.
