@javierzito41 Annette Hanshaw and Helen Schroeder aka Helen Kane aka Betty Boop were best friends in New York City in the 1920s. Helen Kane encouraged Annette to do a few "Betty Boop" numbers which can be heard on YT. Helen said Annette did a better Betty Boop than she did. LOL Thanks for your comment and hope you enjoyed!
All her recordings were done at a time there was a unique 'sound' to the music at the time. From 1934 on it wasn't quite the same, which is why her recordings are so good.
I first heard Annette sing this number on a Sunday afternoon in early 1980 on a cassette tape I "saved" from the local tip.I played it most days while driving my truck, until one day it broke and I never thought about Annette again. What a lovely girl. you're posting some good stuff Keep it coming and thanks for this one
Like most people I believed Annette was born 1910 and thought no way could a 17 year old sing this song like that. At 27 there is an inflexion to her voice that NONE of the other early female jazz singers had
reminds me of betty boop

annette hanshaw is really good, but that band is off the charts, especially the bass.

Apparently so-she refused offers of millions of dollars to appear in movies. And that was when a million would buy something.

She could put a song across like few others could manage-but never recognized her own talent.
