  • reminds me of betty boop

  • @javierzito41 Annette Hanshaw and Helen Schroeder aka Helen Kane aka Betty Boop were best friends in New York City in the 1920s. Helen Kane encouraged Annette to do a few "Betty Boop" numbers which can be heard on YT. Helen said Annette did a better Betty Boop than she did. LOL Thanks for your comment and hope you enjoyed!

  • annette hanshaw is really good, but that band is off the charts, especially the bass.

  • All her recordings were done at a time there was a unique 'sound' to the music at the time. From 1934 on it wasn't quite the same, which is why her recordings are so good.

  • genial (:

  • I can't believe how great she was and a knockout voice so talented.

  • I first heard Annette sing this number on a Sunday afternoon in early 1980 on a cassette tape I "saved" from the local tip.I played it most days while driving my truck, until one day it broke and I never thought about Annette again. What a lovely girl. you're posting some good stuff Keep it coming and thanks for this one

but diffrent and yes Annette hanshaw was talented

if u search dot dare in google you will see her own site which plays alot of her music

  • Thank you for Annette Hanshaw my favorite.

  • Ah, so sweet. I do love her inflections so!

  • She could put a song across like few others could manage-but never recognized her own talent.

  • That's Great ! Only "that's all" missing, thanks a lot

  • It seems to be missing from all her Columbia and Parlophone cuts.

  • Wonderful the real Annette thank you.......

  • And thanks to Annette for her timeless music.

  • Like most people I believed Annette was born 1910 and thought no way could a 17 year old sing this song like that. At 27 there is an inflexion to her voice that NONE of the other early female jazz singers had
