The preacher is great for letting out an atheist's frustration. Don't learn too much from the encounter, but it's kind of like wrestling in one of those inflatable sumo suits. Both sides can throw out some really hard an emotionally charged attacks and nobody gets any closer to victory. But it's awesome fun.
The really sad thing is that Roland created god in his own image. It's impossible for Roland to understand that his god is completely immoral, because he himself has no sense of morality.
I'm sure you're right, Roland will just respond with his usual "the bible is very clear" bullshit. Prepare to be disgusted and disappointed by him yet again.
