She has always been a wonderful dichotomy. So sexy, fashoin aware, and marketable in a runway model way. Yet ... so "whatever" about her looks and talent.
And this vid captures it all. True, raw, punk agrression -> while dressed in a cheap outfit and looking hotter than the sun itself. The most unique and deadly combination of looks and talent ever.
Two Words.... KICK ASS! Like has been said before, listen to Blondie and Plastic Letters to get a good look at Blondie's other half, not Heart of Glass. LOVE DEBORAH HARRY AND BLONDIE!!!
I remember walking by a Tower Records in San Francisco when this album came out - back in the pre-MTV days and seeing this video (or one like it, some things seemed different) on a huge screen in the store. I was totally stupefied for about an hour - begging the guys to play it over & over. Been a Blondie fan ever since...
@qlmpnr i got the bug too, i have always liked music by blondie but i the bug bit hard after watching Blondie videos here on the tube, have been collecting vinyls and videos ever since. One time i bidded a rare basment 7" vinly up to £65 this has rare demos from 75. I went to soo them live last month, WOW what an experience
I used to cop a bit of flack from my mates at school for loving Blondie. But all they knew was basically Tide Is High and Island of Lost Souls. This stuff certainly rocks, as does the eat to the beat LP.
Hi! Yes, well spotted. I know full well that "442" is from PL, I just happened to throw a comment in about EttB, and it sounds like I was referrring to "442" being off that LP, so, yes, I was wrong there, more so in my comments, but not my knowledge!? Does that make sense, doesn't too me!
@junkyturd-The Ramones and Blondie came up together. The first Ramones show at CBGBs in August, 1974 was opening for Blondie. Some of the Ramones even lived in Chris Stein's apartment for a well. A lot of people seem to think Blondie were tourists in a scene they helped to start.
1 of my favourtie Blondie songs from "Plastic Letters". If people just think that Blondie sing poxy little radio friendly numbers like The Tide Is High, they need to hear this, The Hardest Part, Rip Her To Shreds & Living In The Real World to prove them wrong!
Many have sought her crown but none have quite yet pulled it off!

Debra Harry was already busting balls in September 1977 with this song before Lady Gaga puke was even thought of by her Parents.

This song proves that Blondie can rock as tight as any Punk band, except that they are much more melodic (and popular).
