@Nekrocow I play shaco, 180 games with him, and he's really tough to play in teamfights without being fed. BUT, you're able to team fight if you go for their squishiest carry first through the side or back. Get the kill decieve out and rinse and repeat, but if they focus you before you can get the kill and decieve out, hit and run with shaco's W and E, having their carries focus you, but not being able to kill you. It allows your team to survive more to kill more. Tough to do, but it's possible.

Don't get me wrong: I love Shaco, he's damn fun, but right now he seems like a design fail. I guess they haven't fixed him for the same reason they haven't fixed Eve

Clarification regarding the start at red instead of blue:

If they pop your boxes, the transition to blue is possible, because although the three boxes necessary to kill golem will completely drain you of your mana, if you had boxes popped at red, the blue buff will restore your mana fast enough.

In the alternative scenario, where your boxes are popped at blue, transitioning to red will leave you mana-starved.

I just thought he rather rambled and stumbled on his words at that part, so there.

@jlark92 Shaco's boxes since his nerf are very spotty and the mechanics are sometimes weird on them. Box placement on Shaco is paramount now because their targeting is very sporadic. To guarantee that the boxes draw aggro make sure to place them behind where the creep will spawn. This will make them turn around and attack them first and give you more damage from your passive.

You have skill! But one question, how do your Shaco so strong!? Mine is really, really squishy so I have to constantly go to base and I can never pull entire jungle kills because I will die. I have no runes and I'm level 12, do you that's why my Shaco's so squishy? During this video, you nearly died at the lizard (near the end) but you were able to pull that off cause you take so little damage! Is it cause of runes/masteries?

Health Quints (which he uses) have been nerfed and they only give about 60hp as opposed to 90, and they nerfed jungling as a whole too so it's generally harder for everybody. I believe Shaco needs more boxes now as opposed to only 2 or 3 to not die or go down to criticla health.

Great guide, not sure what I'm doing wrong in the jungle, don't have the exact runes but got 15 armp from marksand quints(rest AS marks), armor seals and MR glyphs.

@illuminati503 Tried the golem first path and that's really easy so I should be able to start there but if I go regi's route it's really random if it works or not, sometimes creeps attack boxes until they're dead, sometimes they turn straight to me after even tho the box is closer. Luck dependant but usually I come out with too low hp to gank and use way too many pots.

Find it really weird cause I have armor seals instead of hp quints and 10% as with 15 armpen which I forgot to mention.

@ggodzmack I honestly think it's just box placement. Cause sometimes when you put it behind them they get really nitpicky on whether they attack you or it. If you're still having trouble though I'd say just consistently start at blue. If they end up popping your boxes at the blue then I'd go golems => wraiths => their wolves then base then go to red then their blue (this is assuming they actually stole your buff and didn't just pop your boxes). dunno if thats the most efficient but ya >.>

Good job Regi. This tutorial/guide is complete. You describe every "why this and that?", give the look at the entire shaco's gameplay, and your advices are totally great.

I just bought Shaco, as my 2nd jungle champ (1st is warwick), but actually start thinking to make it my main jungler. The reason is his early ganks, having really high impact on the game. Even tho Shaco doesn't run around jungle with full hp, such as Warwick does, he is able to gank much earlier and more successful.

As a budding Shaco player I have a question or 2. I understand stacking health quints, Armor pen marks (killing monsters and squishies easier) and Attack speed for every other rune type (for applying on hit affects such as madreds), but wouldn't Crit Damage marks be preferable to armor penetration marks? and wouldn't CDR runes be preferable to attack speed for early game utility?

@0Exitus Actually, armor penetration gives you much more damage then crit damage would. I think he uses attack speed to jungle faster too, but I use CDR myself. Then again, I'm not a pro Shaco.

The patch notes have been released for the new patch and they include a magic armor buff to neutral creeps. I hope this doesn't affect this jungle route. I will have to test in game to be sure.
