The shitty part of this is, the owner even though he signed a waiver cant even get the engine replaced under warranty because the first thing the techs will do is hook up to the computer and see that it was pegged at redline for an extended period of time and te service writer will say "You will have to pay for your engine as you have voided your warranty."

Adding some 250bhp with aftermarket parts adds stress to the engine and failure to shift gears/pushing the engine way past redline caused the problem. It's human error and engineering error on behalf of those who upgraded the car.
