the special effects were the planes and tanks. roughly 4 of those clips were real, as the shots where the planes dropped supplies, that was a helicopter. New orleans received next to no help for quite awhile. Green day was pointing out the fact that those event are what should have happened to help fellow humans, with the sign at the end. Also, every single jet was edited in.

I Liked this video, here's why:

i'm not a fan of green day and i think that Bono is up his own ass i mean if he wants to tell presidents and kings how to handle their countries wealth he should just run in his own country for public office, but that's another story altogether, so back to this video, well it's simple, CGI footage of stealth planes, cool ass choppers and tanks, helping people in need with machines usually used to hurt people = cool

One thing I like to add is that U2 and Greenday playing this song together, and giving all the proceeds to the victims of Katrina is the most unselfish thing to do. They sounded great together. I don't believe it would be as good without U2.
