That feature is useless, majority of computer users never bother with searching any files or folders by doing that specified search, they just go on my documents or similar, that maybe is good for some heavy users of computers, those that really work a lot with comp. .. .. but even those have other ways, more simple...

( main problem with that is that you have to know the name of the files - folders, that is impossible... no one remembers those ).

You obviously don't own a Mac. They have a feature called spotlight. Once you get used to blazing fast searches, it is the only way to go. I hardly ever browse the folder structure anymore. If this does for a PC what spotlight does for a mac it will be a huge hit.

I have over 100,000 files on my computer and they are all scattered in my documents, downloads, desktop, etc. Before Google Desktop it took me a long time to find anything and now I can instantly find whatever I need in less time that it would take me to open all the folders.

I have been using Google Desktop since it first came out and it is the best way to search and it's so fast. I love it! It can search your desktop files and apps and web at the same time and places you have been all at once. Double-clicking CTRL key is such an automatic habitual rapid response to me now much as accelerating and braking is to driving a car or using a mouse on a computer or joystick on a video game. I don't even think about it anymore it's so automatic!

Just install kubuntu or some linux and you have plenty of integrated searchers/launchers.

craigg747, probably you need to launch Google Desktop, and leave it there for a few days. This is because Google Desktop will only create your index when your computer is in idle mode. It might takes some times to index all your files in your computer.
