What happens to the thrust controllers after they disengage the thrust reversers. Does the thrust go to an idle position or does it put it up a bit for the plane to taxi without the pilots having to change anything?
Yeah I learned so much about the pilots having sex with the services in the front while the door was closed.....that is so common... Because my ex date who is a pilot and told me everything....oh man....
Im not related too any pilots but ive sat with them on landing. As a kid I would always ask if I could go and chat to them. There was a spare seat on the flight deck so they asked if I wanted to go back up and sit with them on landing, was amazing.
Great Video, thanks for posting, I love to compare notes. I did notice they sat the 747 down really quick. In my video response, it shows the C5 doing a Landing.. though you can really hear the engines a ton louder..lol I guess when your heavier than a 747, you get more wing surface area and more tires lol
ILS was used (you can check the APPR mode engaged on the MCP) and later (at 0:53 marker) you can hear the autopilot being disconnected. The approach and landing was thereafter manual.
@elfling The user asked if it was a manual landing or ILS approach. Actually it was both of them. ILS approach flown by the autopilot until the F/O disengaged the autopilot. Thereafter he conducted a visual approach.
I have a question and it keeps buggin' me. Which one should control the plane, Capt. or the FO? Capt. is in the left and FO is in the right (as the default system settings in an airplane). Ow, well... They control the speed knob and yet altering the throttles. I guess they did is not autoland. In this case, simulator sux. Hahaha
@kaylaks One thing that one pilot is Capt. and another FO - but everyone of them can act like a PF - Pilot Flying or PM - Pilot Monitoring. In this case Capt. was PM (and he helped PF with setting flaps, gear, checked that speedbrake is armed). Actually this was not autoland - just before gear down autopilot was disconnected.
@link250001 Dear user: Maybe you have not noticed that I tried to be ironic when I referred how I went into the cockpit.
I will not tolerate rude or harsh words in the comments of any of my videos. Please, grow up and try to respect persons first if you want to be respected.
@AF401 Approaching 11 means approaching Runway 11..and 1200 remaining means 1200 metres remaining, not in feet..on runway 35 because he turned back to taxi back...
@1986abdulmeghji Yeah, I know what they mean, but the callouts by itself ( the voices installed into the 747 and the 777) are new to me since I've never heard it before.
@ghnilson no, i mean did u need like special permission to even enter the cockpit to film because since post 9/11 it is almost impossible to film inside a cockpit unless ur part of the crew
@sam9524 maybe he's not a normal person. Perhaps he is cabin crew or a third pilot. and cant you take a hint that he doessn't want to reveal why he was in the cockpit, douche :)
@Dorisequador No alarm sounded regarding "the wheels",the alarm you heard was they switching off the autopilot/autothrottle...! regarding "the wheels",these are caller "gear", it should have sounded "to low/gear!" and/or "to low, terrain!"
i have a question in the new airbus there are joysticks instead of stearing wheels so what if the captain is right handed than he doesnt have the full controll over the plane isnt it??
@doubleBdasher there are a ton of new planes (boeings, crj's, etc.) with the joysticks. when you first learn to fly most of it is done with only one hand anyway (usually the left hand, the right hand typically is used to control throttle, flaps, etc. if you are in the right seat) and even in this you can see the captain with one hand on his knee. so it doesnt really matter if your right or left handed, its easy with both hands and you can easily still have control over the plane
@shlthapp3nZ, if you mean the stick to the right of the throttles, than that is the speed brakes who automaticly extend when touching down(if you first arm them) if you mean that he was grapping something behind the throttles and pulling it back, then he was activating the reverse thrust, wich is one of the ways pilots slow down airplanes once touched down.
@shlthapp3nZ Some aircraft use that technology but most dont.. what he was doing was activating the reverse thrusters, its small levers on the front side of the throttle controls which is pulled backwards once the throttle levers are in idle position to activate the reverse thrusters. This is done right on touchdown
@aarperry Reverse thrust are not applied right after touchdown but when aircraft reaches speed of 100KTS and are turned of at 60KTS...This is information from a Boeing 747-400 Captain in Air India...
@shahrukh1612199 Reverse Thrust arent applied till 100 KTS? really now? They are videos up on youtube with some pilots reverse thrusting even before the nose gear hits the runway what are you talking about? Reverse Thrust are applied right after touch down.
@shahrukh1612199 The usual landing speed of an aircraft such as the 744 typically are around 130's low 140's kts range. For a B744 to land at 100kts would be a very harsh landing the plane would just drop out the sky their landing speeds are no where near around the 100kts range thats way to slow.
@shahrukh1612199 This info.is from Captain in Air India who has 7000+ hrs and still flying on 747-400 and former Indian Airforce Pilot.....so no doubt abt his words....
@shahrukh1612199 Oh yeah well u can go and land a 744 at 100 kts however just make sure there are no passengers, flight attendants, no first officer. Have your funeral planned out and arrange. And if u are lucky enough to survive the reck I would call u superman. Good luck with that.
Yes it is right of the pilot's hand and left of the co-pilots hand. Left of the throttle. I only used the co-pilot because he is the one with his hand on the throttle.

Can anybody tell me wat is those voices and why i don't hear them in the 747-400 as i used to ???
@kfkgj The thing is that they have to arm it in order for it to be deployed automatically. I've ever encountered a case where the spoilers were deployed very late, say, 10 seconds after a complete touch down.... I wonder if they had forgotten to arm it in the first place or not...
First time i hear "approaching 11" and "1200 remaining" (seems RWY distance remaining), i think it is a new kind of GPWS linked to the GPS. Is it the EGPWS?
i think its more comparable to Jesus as He seats at the right hand of the Father w/c it is the Captain....the co-pilot has much of the controls to the right, so the captain will only command much more to the co-pilot..
Because the panel you see have less/more functions and buttons at each side. For example, the co-pilot handles the communication between the tower and the airplane which he will need only to use the GPS, Altitude, Heading, and few other things, while the Captain have more functions and buttons at his area.
nothing special with a copilot sitting on the right side and landing a plane; they are trained for that...not only for engaging or disengagin landin gear....
it helps to lose increase descent rate if the airplane is on air...it also helps to reduce speed on the ground during after landing roll & prevents the airplane to be airborne again if the approach is faster than normal
To the person that posted video: I'm getting my passport soon so I can fly with my uncle who flies a DC-10 for FedEx it's really neat the places he goes. What normal route does this one fly?
it´s the best aireplane ever and it´s easier to fly than any chessna or bombardier or else. it´s so smooth to fly the 747-400, it´s my favorite plane to fly and i also flew airbus, bombardier etc. ;-)

just a moment before touchdown the pilot on the right seems to start something(?)
is that the accerelation for the wheels in order not to have such an high abrasion?

@shlthapp3nZ Some aircraft use that technology but most dont.. what he was doing was activating the reverse thrusters, its small levers on the front side of the throttle controls which is pulled backwards once the throttle levers are in idle position to activate the reverse thrusters. wie kommt man in so ein cockpit?
granzukakoko 2 years ago

To the person that posted video: I'm getting my passport soon so I can fly with my uncle who flies a DC-10 for FedEx it's really neat the places he goes. What normal route does this one fly?

You want to fly in a DC-10? You have a death wish.

No, that's the gramophone. This 747 is an old model, you see.

it´s the best aireplane ever and it´s easier to fly than any chessna or bombardier or else. it´s so smooth to fly the 747-400, it´s my favorite plane to fly and i also flew airbus, bombardier etc. ;-)
me personal, i would NEVER fly a DC10 or MD11!!
hardstylerDE 2 years ago
You can't even spell Cessna right. Quit lying. You have to be somewhat smart to fly an airplane.

hardstylerDE how about a MD10?
