i can tell your young. so allow me to educate if you would. ive gone through many depressions and helped friends through them. everyone is weak. their isnt a single living human being who hasnt thought about it at least briefly. more importantly think of human beings as say the twin towers. strong, defiant, resilient. but if an attack from the outside is strong enough even they can fall. dont ever judge on something like that. until youve had to go through the same shit. and no im not offended.

Suicide is fleeing any way you turn it. This means you can't label it as courageous. Working through hardship instead, on the other hand, has surprisingly little to do with courage either.

had to post one response, now i want to state what this song means to me. music is a life blood to the entire human race and songs like this CAN change someones life for the better. these kind of songs always touch me because a song like this once saved ME. bless these groups for the good they do. because if they save just one life with this message it was worth it.

i can tell your young. so allow me to educate if you would. ive gone through many depressions and helped friends through them. everyone is weak. their isnt a single living human being who hasnt thought about it at least briefly. more importantly think of human beings as say the twin towers. strong, defiant, resilient. but if an attack from the outside is strong enough even they can fall. dont ever judge on something like that. until youve had to go through the same shit. and no im not offended.

I must say that I disagree on your point, saying that everyone is weak.
Just thinking about something like that doesn't make you weak. Submitting to it makes you weak. Everybody can be down at times, as long as you take life back into your own hands and try to make the best out of it, you're not weak in my eyes.
And I think this song is exactly the kind of person who is strong in my eyes, saying that life sux for him now, but he'll get over it.

I could not disagree with you more. It takes a lot of courage and willpower to take your own life. People loose hope, get really depressed, and would rather not carry on living. That doesn't make them weak, its just that they feel there is nothing to live for. This happens to EVERYONE at some point. As the song says - you need to rise above it.

@LordWabbit; i'd disagree slightly, having been in similar positions. I'll accept your point about will power completely, for example most people find it hard to stay under water past their comfort zone let alone drown themselves etc. But I would disagree on courage, because will power can be spawned of desparation rather than courage, wouldnt you say?

Some take this out of hand. This is just good music with a moral and hope to help behind it. This band did not post this to start arguments over if contemplating suicide is stupid or not, it's simply here to help people realize that there are other options that won't hurt them or their loved ones, and to entertain others who don't have that issue. Besides, there are medical illnesses (such as depression) that could lead to suicide. People going through rough times are not the only ones.
