it does say in the Quran that you can beat your wife, but it also says to use as little force as possible. It says something like (correct me if I'm wrong, I'm not positive but i studied this last year) you should beat her with something small.. out teacher referred to a toothpick. and that's ONLY if every other method did not work.

Why don't you ask your imam about it. There have been no Scriptures removed from the Bible. The New Testament is the Christians book of instruction and this is what it says: I Peter 3:7; Colossians 3:19; Epehsians 5:25-33. I encourage you to read them.

@nba791 Hello! The Bible has never taught us any such thing. Please cite your sources. The word "daraba" is the word used in the Arabic in 4:34 and it is translated as "hit" or "struck". This Sura mentions nothing about not leaving marks or not beating in front of the kids. This was all added by clerics later, to my understanding. As a Muslim woman, why do you think it's ok for your husband to "put hands" on you anyway? Why would you tolerate that? Did you read the verses I gave you? Thyanks.
