@boogerholewv1 Being only 11 when they broke up, I was never a "complete" Beatles fan... mostly the post-"Revolver" stuff, and even all that just sat alongside other bands. Also, I never really bought into the "Yoko killed the band" stuff... by 68 they were in almost complete creative disarray, going in different directions anyway. "Abbey Road"-- my fave B's record-- was an amazing aberrant collaboration, considering how fucked up the inter-band relationships were by that point.

I don't know the details, but even in 1988 there were some legal issues concerning the Beatles that still needed settling. Paul refused to go because of the legal entanglements with the other Beatles. I wish I knew the details of the legal battle.
