  • Nice shitty looking and sounding upload UMG. Let others upload your content for you, they'll do a better job. This song deserves better quality.

  • what happened to video's and music like this!! so creative and unique and had originality to it..the crap today doesn't compare...i do like some of the oldies to. it's just to bad music like this isn't atop today....i love the 80's absolutely love em!

  • i totally agree. The 80's are the best music decade.

  • Man...i tottaly agree with you

  • These guys were a little bit before my time, but I still found them.

I'm sure a lot of people will find them on the Donnie Darko soundtrack. Awesome movie... turned me on to some great music that I would have otherwise missed.

  • es un gran video de antaño!!!

  • Only 57k views WTF this song is awesome!!!

  • People do not know about them...when was the last time youve heard Tears for Fears na the radio??? But I know what color of panties Britney wore last week...

  • OMG !! I loved this group back in the day. Time sure flies.

  • Songs From The Big Chair, what a great album....'Funny How.. Time Flies'

  • This song saved my life, one night when I was at the edge of the end, it gave me courage, and joy

    Sorry for my english

  • good for you bro!!

    welcome back from the edge

i have been down that same road

  • thats cool to hear. lots of times when im down and out i listen to this old music and it takes me back to a time when things were simple

  • Oh god the keyboard playing at 1:32 is EPIC.

  • This was filmed at Emmanuel College at the University of Toronto. I spent a lot of time in that library hustling chicks, er, I mean, studying for a Masters degree ;-)

  • And avoiding vaccines has contributed to things like....death.

  • Poland super kawałek

  • Ah meus velhos tempos!!! quando essa musica estava no augi, the magic anos 80!!!

  • does that monkey shave his fingers or get someone in to do it as he famous.

  • I love the chorus on this song!

  • circa 1985, 'twas good to be ten years old back then

  • Love how this video reminds me of a teenage crush.

Keyboard player looks embarrassed to be in the video though.

  • Yeap, they first sung "Mad World". The song was re-recorded and made this time by Gary Jules and used for the movie "Donnie Darko", as this song here actually ;)

  • No it's not Jack. Tears For Fears did that song way back in 1982. When Gary would have been 2 years old.

  • did they make mad world or is it someones song?

  • Yeah, they made 'Mad World.' It's been re-made a few times over the years, but Roland wrote it and Tears For Fears recorded it for their debut album, 'The Hurting,' released in '83. (I only like to pretend I don't remember back that far.)

  • I LOVE THIS SONG! BRINGS BACK MEMORIES

  • I totaly agree with you. man those were the best days

  • I hope there was a diaper on that chimp.

  • Que voz del vocalista¡

  • orzabal gets alot of credit.....but the REAL bass is what separated TFF from other "new age" music of the 80's. a real musical device cuts the edge off the synth and grounds it.

  • My favorite song by them. Curt's really workin' those frames. ^.^

  • Roland's smile and love of the music is infectious! Bless!

  • Aww when music was music, when a music video was a music video..... not like the crap of Bom Bom pow....

  • Librarian really has that "no means no " attitude, He should steal the monkey's girl.

  • Excellent!!

  • the intro to this song on the album is one of the best jams I've ever heard

  • best pop band of the 80's. No one could match their melody and writing abilities.

  • Best band ever.

  • Agree

  • I love this: what ever happened to TFF? I thought they were taking off...

  • hahaha

    1:30

He doesn't give a fuck about playing.

    Stellar song.

  • Old school music...80's...

  • who is the lead siger??

to me they have the same voice

    xD

  • dospampas Roland Orzabal, the one with the mullet, is the lead singer on this particular song.

Usually leads in this group are chosen based on who's voice is best suited to the song.

  • Although I'm not so hot on this (my own) generation's music, I do think there are some gems that compare to the great stuff that was everywhere back then. You just have to dig.

  • Looove.

  • This song is great!

  • what happen to good music like this?

  • With a real reason!

  • boo that monkey he is a redsox fan

  • Sucks, huh? The world can choke on Red Sox greatness for a while!! Finally, people outside New England really root against them!!

  • 31 de dezembro de 1989 foi o fim do mundo da música!!!!

  • Something happens and I'm head over heels.

  • LOVE this song.

  • This song made me tear up with nostalgia a little bit.

  • I know! I miss real music!!

  • one of the best songs ever why the fuck is people talking about presidents they are dead so why teh fuck bother

  • Que coisa linda esses dois!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Wow, that Librarian looks pissed off!

  • Well that monkey is clearly a red sox fan which makes him ok with me!

  • It's a chimp!

  • Tears for Fears , U2, and Bruce Springsteen are the only good people still around.

  • i am talking about music per se,i know how rough it was in the 80's,the crack epidemic,"I don't recall"worst prez ever Ronald Reagan, etc

  • Ronald Reagan worst president ever, you say? This statement (opinion) alone renders anything else you say to be put in the context of somebody who doesn't have a clue.

    Great song.

  • Nu huh,the 80's kicked ass,put the 90's in a close second.

  • whats up with the monkey

  • This song makes me want to cry...

  • The 80s were not a fun time. This music reminds me of how tough it was. Ronald Reagan didn't do MY family and favors.

  • Just saw on the HX chanell this eve. 'bout good ol' Ronnie getting capped and almost getting that dirt nap. Didn't do my fam any faves either. Getting George in office any sooner better or worse for us??? any1's guess

  • I didnt know Dave Collier (Uncle Joey) was in this video at 1:37

  • Reagan was a first-class a...hole. Homelessness, no response to the AIDS crisis. He screwed the working-class and neglected the people who were suffering. Gross negligence if you ask me.

  • They're probably giving the thumbs down because they either made some Reaganomic blood money in the 80s or because they like to kick people when they're down and then laugh about it.

  • Same goes for Margaret Thatcher and the Thatcherites.

  • I REALLY miss the 80's. That's when MTV was just MUSIC VIDEOS

  • Now that confuses 'my' kids that the M in MTV used to stand for 'music' tele.... Crazy

  • Young Ronald looks a lot like young Jerry Seinfeld.

  • I totally agree, you are the first to say that and I so agree. Wow that doesnt really change anything though, he still a cutie.

  • i wish my teenage years was in the 80s

  • i'm from the 80s and i wish my teen years woulda been in the 70s. i guess a lot of us feel things would have been better if we'd been teens in a different time.

  • I think We all feel the previous decades were better.....

  • I don't. I was a child of the 80's and I freakin' LOVE that decade!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I lived in the 80's I was 13 my big sis 16 had a T-top camarro. We lived on the lake and rode jet skiies and boats and stayed up watvhing friday the 13th and the breakfast club. Life was carefree and blissful, until the terrible 90's came and wiped out so many family's due to divorce.

  • Ah yes, the great 90s divorce wave. Huh?

  • hah wateva the 90s kicked ass...you must be a 90s divorce statistic lmao

  • If only music these days could be similiar.

  • i was born in the 90's but i wish i was born in the 80's

  • Sorry You missed it...a great time in music history....

  • A "great" time??? Try freakin awsome time in music history.

  • This is for my long distance lover....

  • songs like this one are near the top of the all time greatest hits ! ! !

  • singer looks vaguely like jerry seinfeld. hehe great musicc!!

  • lol yes I agree.

  • BEST 80'S SONG EVER!!!!!!!!!!

  • This song came out in 85

  • 1981

  • No. 1985.

  • god i miss the 80s had to b the best time to b n highschool class of 89

  • 1:37 - 1:39

    <333

  • Muy buen video...

  • i love this so much

  • this is my fav song form the 80s

  • hilariously ridiculous at 1:29

  • I used to think the keyboardist was a sexy brute.

  • Roland is AWESOME as an actor!!!

  • excellent from the 80's.....

  • i love this song. i saw donnie darko and decided to look up the music video on here. i remember this song when i was a kid too cuz of my parents

  • Out of all their songs this and, I don't know if they were together when Mad World was written. But I like this song more than all others they sang.

  • Yes they were together when Mad World was written. I like that song too. It's because of that song that I was exposed to Tears' music. :)

  • Is there anywhere on You Tube that one can find the full length album version of this song? On the record, "Songs from the Big Chair," this song had an instrumental introduction... it was awesome. However, it also closed with the same, and both were outstanding musical jams... if you don't like 80's, or weren't alive then, shut the fuck up! If you have a link, please reply.

  • The instrumental song is called "Broken". It is a separate piece but it complements "Head over heels". You are right, it is pretty awesome!.

  • What a brillant song .I love tears for fears their lyrics are so real to life . They talk about love and it's pitfalls .

One of the best bands from the 80's .I miss these days and these bands and these songs.

  • Oh they sing about more than naive love. They sing about war, political strife, and just having an overall point of view about how things work.

  • I wanted to be with you alone and talk about the weather The traditions I can trace against the child in your face won't escape my attention You keep your distance with a system of touch and gentle persuasion I'm lost in admiration could I need you this much Oh you're wasting my time You're just just just wasting time.
  • What brilliant lyrics form one brilliant band.

You don't get music like this anymore .

    Shame xxx

  • No you don't dizzyrico. This is such a fabulous video and it wasn't backed by huge corporate conglomerates that want to shove the next big thing on naive kids.

  • Hi Celestek could you send me the lyric's please .I know them but some i havn't quite mastered yet !!

    Thanks babe xx

  • I actually I haven't quite got all of the lyrics either d.r. I don't quite know what Curt is singing in the second verse in between when Roland is singing "My mother and my brothers used to breathing clean air and dream that I'm a doctor" and "It's hard to be a man when there's a gun in your hand; I feel so."

  • Curt's part...

Nothing ever changes when your acting your age...Nothing gets done when you feel like a baby

  • AWESOME..UTTERALLY AWESOME!!

  • I've loved this song since I first heard it in '85.

  • Masterpiece

  • That dude sure had a good set of lungs on him... just a deep, powerful voice. i think it was best exemplified in 'shout'.

  • You mean Roland Orzabal? Yeah he does have a powerful set of lungs. :)

  • I was exsposed to them in the early 80's, and I didn't know they were together when that song came out. All I just heard that Rloand wrote that song

  • lol @ 1:12-1:20 he kinda does 'the robot'

  • yeah he does.

  • One of my all time favourite songs :-)
